That fucking bitch didn't have the right to be on that property if it was private. He's lucky you didn't shoot him in the balls.
As said before, if the sidewalk is YOUR property, sue the guy for trespassing, no one gives a shit about his broken wrist, he shouldn't be in your property in the first place, it's his fault.
If it's not your property per se, you can't be sued because you didn't have anything to do with it.
50,000 + 50,000 = 1,000,000
Ohh yeaahh..
50,000 + 50,000 = 1,000,000
Ohh yeaahh..
Who gives a shit? I wouldn't take it even if I was sued for 10k.
We need lankist back.
This sounds fucking retarded.
Do you own the sidewalk? If you do you can do whatever the fuck you want with it, if you don't own it then it's not your fault.
50,000 + 50,000 = 1,000,000
The dude is suing my mom for 1 million dollars in damages and 100 thousand dollars in special damages.
That is the "special damages" and not the 1 mil.
Sue them for trespassing.
Either it will be recognised that the sidewalk is not your property and thus not your responsibility. Or that it is your property and then he was trespassing.
Alternatively, wait until its Icy, slip in front of his house.
The only advice is get a Lawyer.
You shit blood, you go to a doctor.
You need legal help, you get a lawyer.
Yeah there really isn't much you can do. Just hope the court goes in your favor.
Own risk on private property?
's what first came up to me.
Hire this guy:

It's 1 million dollars in damages then 100k in 'special damages'.
Then his wife is suing for 50k for a family clause that I have no idea about.
Anyway it's obvious they are in some financial problem and they can't generate wealth the honest way. I'm working on finding out how I can sue them back for wasting my time or possibly trespassing.
I just want to say - that guy sounds like a MASSIVE DICKHEAD and I hope you win.
Why was that lawyer guy called 'lankist' banned then?
The courts will probably throw that out. Also, your math sucks.
i dunno about canada, but here sidewalks are considered public property
if he slipped and fell on the sidewalk outside your house, the only people he could blame are the city council
don't worry, it'll get thrown out
That's a fucking stupid reason for suing somebody
Well my dad got ran over by taxi and my dad had to pay to that taxi driver man.
Srs what the hell man?
That is a lame ass reason for suing. Someone should smack a sledge in that mans head.
Wish I had some advice for you. But best of luck in the fight.
This may have been told you before but; he slipped on the sidewalk, that is not your property I don't know if you are responsible for your sidewalk in your country because here in Holland it's not.
If you are responsible then yes you are either fucked or your insurance company covers you.
Anyway hire a Jewish lawyer and everything will be OK.

Doesn't say anything about a sidewalk but maybe with more searching you can come up with an answer.
Give him a new computer.

If you followed the series, you kinda know hes a hobo now.
Something with creating evidence IIRC.
So he slipped on your property?
Why was he even walking on your property? wouldn't that be against the law to trespass or whatever it's called? :downs:
I used to maintain rental properties and this was a major concern. If it looked like ice or snow I was out there salting. If someone hits the ground on your sidewalk which resides in the easement then you're out of luck unless you can show that you already have the salt down.
As far as the people crying about trespassing, it's not trespassing. the sidewalk that runs down the side of the street is public property that is to be maintained by the homeowner. The same applies for broken and uneven surfaces on a sidewalk, the homeowner is responsible for them.
As for the huge number for the lawsuit, I think that is as Zeke said, just to set up for negotiating. As for the realistic amount, if he uses his hands for a living he could be out of a living for a while and a wrist injury could in some cases be very debilitating.
Sue him for wasting your time.

My thoughts exactly.
