OH SHIT BUMP snip
oh god massive bump from a spambot
Well, I suppose we better get talking again then :saddowns: I've been wanting to learn Krav Maga for some time now, only problem is that the nearest Academy is a train journey away in London. Still, it certainly seems to be worth the dosh.
Systema is a pretty cool style. Pretty effective too since Russia's been attacked by everything and its grandmother.
Wow I can't believe how dumb I was. :(
The U.S. Army uses hand-to-hand combat training to defeat it's opponents in close combat situations. Hand-to-hand combat allows the consideration of weapons usage and implementation. Soldiers are trained how to strike vital points on the human body, and the affects of striking that particular part. For a soldier to be effective in hand-to-hand combat, it is essential to understand what striking that part of the body will do. Civilians and military personnel that are off duty should never engage in fighting. Hand-to-hand combat is dangerous; using military hand-to-hand combat moves may result in criminal charges against you unless it is in self-defense.
MMA is fun as shit. Life has become way better now that I can release tension in the form of punching/kicking/choking out people twice a week.
What an old bump. Anyways, I wish I have a good MMA or Martial Arts place in my city. The only places I could find were child day cares and defense for the elderly and normal civilian life. Both of which is not what I am looking for.
Ancient Russian Fighting style: Systema
Ancient Russian Fighting style: Systema
Systema is a scam martial art.... It's also not ancient. It's new.
It has its roots, and the Russian special forces use it.
Ancient Russian Fighting style: Systema
How do those tiny little punches knock people down and out so fast? I mean it has no momentum or any thing like that, what part of the body are they hitting?
How do those tiny little punches knock people down and out so fast?
It has its roots, and the Russian special forces use it.
Hi. No they don't. I've attacked this misconception so many times it's not funny, so excuse me if I get curt, it's because I'm sick of repeating myself. 1. There is no official documentation that Spetsnaz or any other SF group in The Russian military actually has systema in their curriculum. Infact, if you want to get technical, I have more basis to say that Spetsnaz use Kyokushin Karate and boxing, because there is official documentation pointing towards that, but that's from about 20-30 years ago. In all reality, the creator of the style is an ex-military general, so to entertain a personal favor, a group of spetsnaz soldiers probably dutifully took a class from him, and now this fool is claiming that they now employ Systema teachings. 2. Similar claims have been made by proponents of other styles countless times about other SF groups around the world using their martial art. None of it ever proven of course. In reality, most SF spend comparatively little time on hand to hand combat training, they have far far more relative skillsets that require time. The time that is spent on hand to hand combat is stuff that has a proven track record and WORKS. 3. Ryabko's business partner had a falling out with him over monetary disputes, came out and admitted that the art is bullshit, and that he was 100% compliant in the video demonstrations. 4. Don't take my word for it. As usual Bullshido tears apart every bogus art, and they've done the same with systema. If you really believe that works, then I guess you're also the kind of person who thinks that you can kill someone with your "chi" and in which case I'm not going to waste my time.

Some of the moves looked very fake and gay.
