Nitrogen Narcosis is a bitch. There's reports of people going crazy and offering their oxygen to a fish.
I never even realized one had to take more than one tank when scuba diving.
Well, only for really, REALLY long dives and ONLY if they have special training. I just got my SCUBA certificate, am i'm starting on a advanced course this January. Don't let those videos scare you. As long as you don't get overconfident and don't act foolish, diving can be one of the greatest experiences of your life. I know, it is for me atleast.
New Goal in life: Avoid swimming through the Blue Hole of Dahab.
New Goal in life: Avoid swimming through the Blue Hole of Dahab.
I'm with ya buddy. Let's get the hell away from there!
The ocean is a scary place.
the government should stick one of these in: Now the retarded divers can get help.

"Idiosyncrasies of the Russian character" Perfectly describes one of my friends.
I wouldn't even try that without 2 tanks of Trimix.
I wouldn't even try that without a submarine.
I feel bad for that diver in the video :ohdear:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=eejQPUyeNiY
oh my god i just watched a man die :ohdear:
yeah, that was surreal. Did you stop breathing watching that video? I did :frown:
I was wondering if the body the two divers found in that one video was the diver that suffocated in the other video. Seemed like the two died in a similar area/position.
I don't care to dive, it scares the shit out of me. I would rather fly planes.
I was wondering if the body the two divers found in that one video was the diver that suffocated in the other video. Seemed like the two died in a similar area/position.
No. His body was recovered.
Rules to live by when you want to insure that you live at least a bit longer. 1)Deep sea shit is restricted and 2)Sky diving is restricted You have to have major balls to even consider going down there. While its an accomplishment, I'm not so eager to find out what its like diving at all
wow, this thread is really getting deep
oh my god i just watched a man die :ohdear:
I've seen 3 men die right in front of me. A guy in my platoon who was shot in Iraq, a friend who was hit by a truck, and the final one while I was working at the state pen. It never changes though, video or not, watching somebody die is hard.
I thought you were talking about the Blue Holes at Mammoth Cave, before I read the thread (I forgot there were other Blue Holes in the world): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammoth_Cave_National_Park The water is isolated freshwater but it's naturally a deep blue color because of the limestone sediment (?). I took a vacation here quite a few years ago and it's where I first heard of "blue holes". [img_thumb]http://www.geology.ohio-state.edu/~vonfrese/gs100/lect15/xfig15_13.jpg[/img_thumb] I thought you meant you were going to dive into that, which was quite an interesting concept (the color in the photograph is distorted, it's actually a blue-cyan color).
That looked like a really close up picture of a spot of water with some sticks and stones, then I saw the guys on the left.

just so you know, nitrogen narcosis will affect you at massively shallower depths than 100m. even when you're at around 30-40 metres you'll be feeling the effects. and if you are going to do this, you're going to have to do a lot of training and get into tech. diving.
oh my god i just watched a man die :ohdear:
Oh, good that was horrible. I still want to learn scuba diving though. Just not that deep. Oh, mind man good luck.

started shaking during that video
I couldn't watch the last moments of the diver video. After what I thought was "help" I paused it and had to pace my room.
I thought diving through that place would lead to some awesome cave hidden below some rocks with cool stuff and shit. My disappointment to know that it's an arch which leads to the beach again Cool nonetheless
Do it like this guy
OP that guy just made you look like a bitch.
