C,your manager is an enormous bitch and her superior manager should be informed
Burn that wanker's house down
you should turn into an insanely intellectual rational guy and burn them to the ground in a war of words
Update: I have been given two choices from my area manager one is to step down as assistant manager and become a retail assistant the other is to be transferred to another store to see how i will do there. But i am currently waiting for a call back from personnel, i am not doing either of the two options, choosing one of them would be admitting guilt and i am not leaving my position until they fire me which i will then take them to a tribunal. The area manager said to me that someone said to her that "marks a bit of a gambler" i have only every been to a casino twice in my life and that was 3 months ago and i haven't been since. Honestly i am just being used as a scapegoat because they have ran out of other reasons of why the tills are down all the time.

Anecdotal "oh I think he's a gambler" is totally unrelated to your work, and thus has no place in their arguments, in addition to the fact that there is no reason to expect you were related to it.
You cannot prove an innocent man guilty If they cannot prove it they have no grounds to sack you
Why does your profile says you are from the US but you said you are in the UK? If you had enough money to go and study in the UK why do you need a job?
Because flagdog's broken for OP's half the time and reports them as from the US.

i am from the uk
Someone I worked with was fired because £260 was missing from a till, yet there was no evidence, he was scapegoated due to his criminal past, taking them straight to court.
OP Just remember this is a shit low life no life job look at the people above you.. Talking out their fucking arses shows how much of a brain you require to hold a "high" postion there. Dont take anything that happens seriously and never let it affect you at home dont give it the time of day. Also for the fun of it just let them sack you and take it to the tribunals ask them for a statement and evidence. CCTV etc etc etc Just remember low life no life job.
That's a strange way to do things. When I was a cashier at Kroger the accounting person for the next day deposited money and added things to make sure all the money was there; if for some reason money came up missing then the till that was reported to have been under was investigated to see which cashiers were running on that till and those people would be isolated their next few shifts and put on their own till. Of course if you were isolated it was pretty obvious since you'd be the only cashier having to go retrieve a till from accounting and deposit it when your shift was over. We used to do it in a way where every cashier got a new till at the beginning of their shift and no one else was allowed to share tills for fear of being written up but last year the accounting system changed. I was also a Nazi about cleanliness around my register and inside my till. Every single bill was always face up and looking in the same direction. Checks and WIC vouchers were always paper-clipped together and stored in the space below my money. Only one asshole gave me trouble about it and that was because he said it was suspicious looking with me standing there organizing money in my drawer. I told him one day after I had enough of his bickering and I said, "I've been doing this for the last year now, if I were stealing money you'd think it would be pretty obvious by now; that and I'm smart enough to know how accounting works that I would never get away with it." He never said another word about it from that day forward; in fact, manager asked me to teach some of my tips and tricks to other cashiers since most of the tills were horribly unorganized with bills being jammed into spots, and in a lot of cases bills put in the wrong slot.

Bit of an update as well: Talked to the personnel manager and he says i am well within my own right to stay as an assistant manager at my current store as there is no hard evidence. Afterwards i phoned the Area manager and told her i am not being transferred and told her what the personnel manager told me and she said "you are transferring store whether you like it or not" i told her i am going to take it higher and i will resign before i get transferred if i have to. Then i phoned the divisional manager who is her boss and told him exactly everything and he says he is going to investigate it further and get in touch with the area manager and then get in touch with me on Monday.
I would pick c, for show that cunt. Best of luck man. (several inefficient/incompetent employees) We already know one of them is a thief, so take it from there

Why is it that in these types of threads it's always a woman as the accuser...
i don't want her shitty job she is on about the same money as me about 16k a year.
I don't know how it is where you are from, but in Australia we have things that protect us from shit like that. If it's a small business then they can do whatever they want. But the fact they have area managers and such, I'm assuming it's a corporate thing? But yeah google about Workplace Relations or something like that around where you are, if you're lucky they'll investigate it for free and she might get fired instead. YAY!
Facepunch; Legal advisers when you need them most.
OP, I think you are being absolutely fantastic in the way you're handling the situation. I have to admit, if it was me I would most likely back down through fear of losing my job, but it's brilliant that you're sticking with it. Best of luck to you, I hope everything works out.
60 dollars? Jesus Christ these markets make like ten thousands in a day.
60 dollars? Jesus Christ these markets make like ten thousands in a day.
Businesses do well because they keep track of their shit. All of these "little" incidents would add up if they didnt give a shit.
If banking, EFTPOS, change float and cash declaration add up correct and you're still £60 down, then it's either been stolen or one employee is lying, Sorry.
I'd go with A really. I'm usually short a few dollars on my register, it gets sorted out eventually. 60 dollars didn't just jump out of the till and walk out the store. It's gotta be there somewhere. And if it's not, I agree that it's not your fault, but that's at-will employment for you. You could get fired for looking at somebody the wrong way. You could get fired for coughing for fuck sakes. Nobody in the higher-offices cares about it because there's 20 thousand more people just waiting to take your job.

You might want to carefully read through your employment contract as well, and see what terms that has for dismissal / redeployment. I'm not really an expert on this kind of thing, so talk to a CIB if you want more information

Innocent until proven guilty, cunt.
C for sure.
