Maths just sounds stupid.
I've actually never heard it called "maths" in real life :/
I thought maybe the reason we said "Math" was because it was a shortened version of the Latin word "Mathematica".
No its shortened from Mathematics.

I am supposed to say maths, but I say math because I am lazy and it is easier to pronounce. I don't want to start saying maffs because then I'm like someone that says death when they mean deaf and by that I mean retarded.
I say maths as there is more than one type of math
That makes sense.
Its short for Mathematics, not Mathsmatics.
possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and I've given my share of dumb stuff in my time
Except for the whole part where he's absolutely correct. I say math because it's easier. Maths is just awkward to pronounce. There's not that many -th words that you can pluralize easily.
ITT: Stereotyping and wiseass pricks
Also, Math. I say it because I grew up hearing it.
Don't Americans have a hard time saying -ths?
I sure do.
I just realized how weird the word "math" is. seriously, just look at it.
Maths is the contracted version of Mathematics the same way Stats is the contraction of Statistics.
Don't Americans have a hard time saying -ths?
Don't British people have a hard time saying the letter "r"?
I use maths because its actually the proper shortened form of mathematics, i mean cmon, if it was math, it would be mathematic, and that just doesn't make sense.

If it was Maths, it would be Mathsematics.
There are thousands of angles to this, and quite frankly, it doesn't matter, so why is everyone making such a big deal out of it? (Call me a hypocrite for bothering to reply for bonus points)
What's wrong with taking the S from the end of mathematics? What's wrong with not taking it?
What's the big deal?
Doesn't matter the subject blows either way.
It's maths, this video explains it.

In Canada we say math.
Maths sounds odd. When ever I say it out loud, the T and the H start fighting, resulting in a beat up, retarded sounding word.
Everyone here (In my small, Canadian town) calls it "Math". Short, simple and easy to pronounce.

That was the best video tonight
Maths.
I'm Australian.
Math.
Math in itself is plural and singular, thus making maths incorrect.
