The Elder Scrolls: Arena.
The game is ambitious to be sure, an open world RPG with a fuckhuge massive randomly generated world, and it's pretty long and all that shit. It's a game that sounds good on paper though; none of it's elements hold up at all and quite frankly I doubt I'd find it enjoyable even in it's time period.
The biggest problem is that it's quite frankly too fucking hard. I know, I know, old game, whatever, I don't care; the only really efficient method to level up so you can actually play the game is to find a dungeon and sit in a corner, waiting and grinding on enemies, and that's not excusable no matter what time period the game's in. As for the other gameplay elements, there are about 4 different types of radiant quests for the majority of the game. Each one requires you to hunt around a town, asking for directions and trying to find the fucker giving out the quest, which can take like 10 minutes by itself. The quests themselves aren't that interesting and they pay like ass, until you get quests from royals which you only ever do when you need money.
Grinding for levels is an ordeal in and of itself, and since quests don't give out any xp beyond the monsters you kill along the way, I imagine if you didn't grind and played it normally it would be the longest fucking game of all time. So yes, it's very ambitious and huge, but it's depth is paper thin.
While that's all mediocre, what makes me utterly loath it is that it taunts me. Always goading me that "Ooh, you'll never beat all the TES games, never everrrr"
So I press on, and on, and on, hours and hours and then I can't stop because if I stop all that time was for naught, I have to keep going. The game forces me to play it. I force me to play it. I hate this game, it's the worst, it's fucking sickeningly loathsome and it shouldn't exist.
If you're a fan of TES, give it a miss. The literal only reason to play it is for completion's sake, and I guess to be able to wander around Tamriel completely but frankly it has as much to do with Tamriel nowadays as it does Guam, which is fuck all. Even ESO's boring ass world is better to wander around in. Aside from the world map, the game set almost nothing in stone about Tamriel or The Elder Scrolls in general; it contributed to the lore that Uriel Septim VII exists and the Empire and that's about it. No aedra, daedra, thalmor, falmer, dwemer, ayleids, none of that ever. 0 lore to be had. The plot itself is really really really simple and you could seriously just look the cutscenes up on youtube or read a plot synopsis and not waste your time. Daggerfall is still a dated game but holy shit is it a million times better and much more worthy of your time. If you like old ass RPGs play that, it's free.

MOTHER FUCKING NAILED MY SORROW.
I'm trying the "beat all TES games with a single character" thing, and Arena sucks so hard. The Dungeons are dark as hell, and monsters come from nowhere, sometimes with no sound and it makes my heart jump.
Plus it is so easy to die, potions cost alot, and unless you wanna do alot of crap side quests, you stuck at about three. Otherwise, it's resting...for one hour because a monster comes from nowhere, gets stuck at a doorway, and won't leave you alone until you kill it and get assraped by something from the darkness.
In fact, the post I'm quoting has inspired me, FUCK ARENA, I'm skipping to Daggerfall.
If you're really into feeling pain and suffering, or you really want to see where TES got started, then check this game out for a bit. Otherwise, if you feel like trying to BEAT this game, then good fortune upon you good sire, because me and Sandman could not slay this foul beast.
GTA V
Fable 2 & 3
Superman 64
Sonic the Hedgehog 06
And finally, Duke Nukem Forever
I bought the Dark Souls I port for PC and I was thoroughly disappointed when I couldn't use it with a mouse and keyboard, although that is entirely my fault.
Duke Nukem: Forever
such a great disappointment
Runescape 3.
Duke Nukem Forever. I bought it for $60.
I was robbed.
its reviews are quite fun to read though
Most of you have seen it already. The review in which the guy has over 12,000 hours played on it and it simply says "its ok"
Well I looked at the comments and:
so you played 12,379 hours and you say its ok. If its ok then why play 12000 hours which is equivlant to over a year
cringe
Sonic Adventure 2.
Seriously, that game is shit. Slippery controls in the speed sections which were incredibly linear and had no challenge whatsoever, stiff controls in the mech sections which were just boring and the treasure hunt sections that were about ten minutes longer than they should be because of the stupid radar nerf. And the fact that people praise it like the second coming of christ because of nostalgia goggles makes me hate it even more.
It's right down there with '06 and Secret Rings for me...

A 5$ 'Yakuza' knockoff for the ps2 my mother gifted to me for christmas when I was 13. It lasted about two hours, was buggy as all fuck, had broken controls, shit graphics and was bland as shit.
Title holder for worst gift I ever received and worst videogame I've ever played.
I just unearthed something I had forgotten, goddamn OP.
Shrek 3 for the Wii

That reminds me,
Shrek 2 for the PC.
It's good but it's really bad
I have a few indie games which I thought were complete trash from random bundles (AVSEQ, Sequence, OIL RUSH - has to be the worst)
fuck Rochard
Darksiders was also boring as shit and I hated it

The Elder Scrolls: Arena.

I'm gonna add as well that the artifact quests are complete bullshit. After like 2 hours, I managed to get Volundrung, which I used for about 10 minutes before it fucked off out of my inventory. God this game is brutally annoying and stupid.

Shinobi PS2

Constant health drain, you literally have to speed-run some parts, and when you're forced into combat it seemed extremely unfair. Never completed it.

Who's gonna rock the place?
place place. All the music in that game was so repetitive. Doesn't really help every time you go to the menu you get "MAKE BELIEVE REBORN"
But I see my post got some disagrees. I feel I should clarify why I think Secret Rings is worse than 06.
Sonic 06 is more bland than broken.
Most "Youtube celebrities" make the game look worse than it is. Don't get me wrong Sonic 06 is a glitchy mess and a horrible game. But its playable.
Secret Rings is disgustingly worse in the game play department.
The control is bad,Sonic is almost always running forward, stopping is nearly impossible. Makes timing jumps a nightmare, especially if you miss something.
Because backtracking is a pain in the ass in that game. The jump has a huge delay on it, grinding rails is glitched and you'll almost always fall off.
The music is repetitive and the mission structure is worse.
I never had a huge problem playing Sonic 06, it just sucked. I found Secret rings was just more unplayable.
Sonic 06 is broken in ways that are amusing, so it got all the credit as the worst game.
Secret rings was broken in ways that aren't funny to watch, so it was looked over.
I dont know, maybe its because Secret Rings didn't keep me laughing with the horrible plot and glitches everywhere that I'm harder than it than 06. But of all the games I've played, its definately the worst I played.
I think it was Modern Warfare 3. I bought a 30 dollar key for Steam and my god, the story was unmemorable as fuck. As for the multiplayer, sluggish, unresponsive, imo and just bland.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD, because its a terrible fucking "remake".
Flatout 3 chaos & destruction. It doesn't even deserve to have the Flatout name on it.
It looks like all the famed flops are already up (or already everybody knows of them), so instead of beating a dead horse with a train, let me dig up some truly awful games.
Line Rider Unbound 2:
Everybody knows what line rider is, and everybody has probably played it as well. What made it so great though, was its simplicity that made it a very easy to use and addicting webtoy. Fsk did toss out some extra features (such as the accelerant and visual lines), but the overall concept was the same. Hell, there wasn't even a defined end you could add to a 'track'. Of course, being a webtoy, everybody could shoehorn it into whatever they want, and soon fsk sold rights to the ip to companies willing to pay. Its not like somebody would be stupid enough to-
[t]http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/026/3/d/line_rider_2_5_by_luckymou-d382vru.jpg[/t]
oh.
So yeah he sold off the rights of line rider to an american company, which quickly got to work making the worst piece of garbage known to man. The cute and simplistic bosh is replaced with that monstrosity, and rather than being the creator of whatever the hell you want, you get a tutorial on how to draw a line and then go on a quest to prevent a guy in a hat from doing.... something. Most of it consists of going to the ONLY editable portion of the level and drawing a line in it. Thats it. The game adds many superfluous peripheries that take much of the creative ingenuity out of making a track for the sled to go along, and your experience is punctured with the main character's poor sound quality ejaculations. Whats more, the gui and menus for creating a level in the first place are ATROCIOUS. Its bad enough consistently navigating popout menus on the ds JUST TO CHANGE A COLOR, but its infinitely worse when using the permanently miscalibrated motion controls of the wii remote pointer. Perfect.
Sonic SEGA ALL STARS RACING:
A ubiquitously terrible cart racer on all platforms. It feels like the by-product of a colonoscopy, and is not very fun at all. However, the sequel is a actually a very good cart racer, and is one of the largest quality gaps I have seen in any video game series ever.
Pokemon Battle Revolution:
Just because I like it doesn't mean its not objectively terrible. When Battle revolution was announced, there was a hype surrounding it. The footage they showed was equally promising. What was hinted at was a Colosseum, but bigger and better, and with an environment that interacted with the pokemon as well. For example, a hyper beam was shown impaling a poor soul and destroying the ruins behind it.
What was actually delivered was the bare bones of anything. It allowed people to copy their Nintendo DS game's memory into the wii and play with 3d models, many which were taken from the previous Colosseum games. The dynamic interaction promised in prerelease footage was completely absent, and the utter lack of everything felt like a slap to the face to those who were waiting for it. It allowed a really limited and frustrating 'campaign' of sorts that gave the player a mixed bag of TERRIBLE pokemon that were as vulnerable to the enemies attacks as they were to random chance. Also the game looked like ass. Really, any person who bought battle revolution without a DS game in hand wasted a ton of money.
Bionicle Heroes:
This game was yet another promising title that turned out to be a bilge pile. For those who have no idea what bionicle is, its an offshoot of lego that uses ballsocket technic pieces to create creatures. It also has the highest saturation of video games out of all of Lego's products, all which have been pretty terrible. What made bionicle heros different was a couple of reasons.
A. Created by Travellers tales, the same people who made Lego Star Wars (a lego game that was not plain awful and was rather engaging)
B. An over the shoulder shooter that incorporated ALL the monsters from Bionicle's inception to its current state.
However, the product was garbage. Its wasnt so much of an over the counter shooter than a basterdized version of lego star wars with a fixed camera. The camera autotargeted, there was no way to disable it. There was no difficulty whatsoever, and it was very hard to die from beginning to end. The weapons had no feel to them at all and sounded like futuristic vacuums when they fired. Enemies took no skill to defeat, and bosses required the EXACT same formula to kill. Every one. ALL 19 OF THEM. The game looked terrible, and to make matters worse, they added an odd graphical filter over everything. This filter is basically what makes this game irredeemable crap. I have not found a single person who can play this game for more than an hour without developing some kind of splitting headache, and its because the game looks like this:
[t]http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/image/article/751/751719/bionicle-heroes-20061219052727191.jpg[/t]
It may not look that bad, but trust me, it eats at one's eyes when you play the game.
Its a terrible combination of poorly saturated textures, poor model quality, bad hdr, TERRIBLE depth of field, and crazy bloom combined with some kind of mdma. There is no way to disable any of these effects, and they progressively get worse the more exotic the locations get.
The only redeeming quality that the game has is the fact everything is actually made of lego pieces (and animates along the proper ball sockets) rather than shapeless crap like previous bionicle games. The sad part is that you can quite clearly see the effort that Travellers Tales spent on creating an immersive and fun game, but it went down the tubes.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers:
It takes 45 minutes to get past the opening cutscenes to the first save point (this game doesnt auto or manually save so if you quit before the unskippable cutscenes end you have to rewatch them), and then I'm greeted with aliens that molest me with no explanation and
I'm a dangerous woman!
Things get unspeakably worse from then onwards.
For example, the main character attacks by picking up things psychokinetically and then throwing them at whatever. Each throw, regardless of where the thing was thrown, does 1 damage. Throws take forever to do. Each enemy has on average 5 health, and you are swarmed with about 20 or so of these at a time, all which need to be killed in order to progress forward past the invisible wall. To make matters worse, they are all really fast and small, making them hard to target. And sometimes, throws do no damage for no reason. GOYAY

I never played Shrek 2 for the PC but I played it on the PS2 and loved it.

I know it's a classic, I know it pioneered a genre, but it just hasn't aged well.
Superman 64 (not joking, I played it. Eugh)
X-COM Enforcer, from the moment I heard that goddamn scientist voice, I made it past the first level and 10 seconds of the second. 10 whole minutes. Everything about it just shits on EVERYTHING X-COM related, ever. jesus fuck there's just something about it that makes me want to fucking KILL MYSELF JESUS FUCK AAAAAAAA
Speaking of Bionicle, Bionicle: The Game is pretty terrible too. No difficulty whatsoever (until later), severe lack of innovation, a two hour campaign with no real replay value, graphics that belong on an N64 instead of a GameCube, and an insane difficulty spike at the second-last level which is too frustrating for words.
And this was my first console game. The game that got me into the vidyas when I was six.
Flatout 3: Chaos and destruction.
-Has to be the WORST racing game. Big rigs is so buggy that it's funny, but flatout 3 is not fun at any ways. I bought it, because I am a fan of the series, but this struck me so down...

AKA Memesland 2. I thought I'd had some fun, but this game has the most boring gameplay of any game I've played recently.
I scoff at those who rate me dumb for this post. The game is not interesting at all. All you do is travel from point to point shooting things, you get ONE class ability, and you compare stats between guns.
i agree with this
this game is the hipster game this board loves so it doesn't surprise his post got 11x dumbs because you have bad taste and feel the need to make yourself feel better by just putting dumb on someones post
Warframe is pretty much the worst game I've played for 800 hours.
