So what's the likelihood that a good amount of the "hitman"-type sites are run by law enforcement?
Eh, decent, I guess.
Funny, they always did tell you you never knew who was on the other side of the screen.

Following some of those links to the deep web won't screw up my iPad will it?
Following some of those links to the deep web won't screw up my iPad will it?

I walked onto the deep web. Interesting stuff. Here's a deep web version of 4chan (thank god, they are against CP, so you won't run into that there).
http://wyxwerboi3awzy23.onion/
The funny part:

On a version of 4chan that's even more obscure, you get a more respectable (if you could call it that) community.
superior 4chan... then could I browse their version of /mu/ without running into itaots, >implying, and >that feel when no gf threads everytime?
lol nvm prob just cp
Something tells me that most of the websites on the deep web are fake
this is interesting, apparently a screenshot of the hidden wiki. http://i.imgur.com/Xq7ih.png
...and now I'm actually on it right now. this thing is slow.
I'm just curious to find out if I can get any real use out of this thing. investigating the tor chans now.
also apparently you can get to the alternate wikileaks, that looks really interesting.
welp. curiosity satisfied.

Somewhat creepy.
lol I found this on the dead dog page.
"Dedicated to the dog no one but me loved, no one but me cared for, and no one but me misses. My father named her "Phyllis Diller", he thought she was so ugly. They called her "Phee" for short. In my heart, she will always be "Candy", the name I wanted to give her. May my father get what's coming to him for her untimely death. "
the hidden wiki is down
Also, does anyone else miss the web from a few years ago? When Geocities was still a thing and any nut could make a terrible, rambling website about how nintendo kidnapped children and the government put listening devices in their teeth.
Links to both resurrected archives of it, and complete torrents of it
I kind of want to get on the silk road and send drugs to my police department, I know a lot of cops and would love to see what happens

.onion can be accessed using a non-TOR browser by changing the domain suffix .onion of any hidden service host to .tor2web.org
But you are not really protected if you are not using actual tor
so basically this TOR thingy provides more anymous-nes then the actual internet. Thats all. No dark internet and shit.
so basically this TOR thingy provides more anymous-nes then the actual internet. Thats all. No dark internet and shit.
Well people are more likely to post fucked up shit if they're protected by anonymity.
so basically this TOR thingy provides more anymous-nes then the actual internet. Thats all. No dark internet and shit.
It also enables viewing of .onion Pseudo-Domains which can't be viewed without an application that allows onion routing, thus protecting the hosts and traffic of illegal websites with a bit more anonymity than normal web browsing. (Correct me if I'm wrong? But that's what I've gathered from my few days around the TOR network. )
The only thing I've learned from the TOR network is that hiring a hitman is prohibitively expensive and you should DIY.

Like said before, "deep web" just means that search engines/most people can't get to it.
The GMF and the OIFY right here on Facepunch are considered deep web.
I may foray into the Deep Web later sometime if i feel lucky

same as naruto
In October 2011, a research team from the French engineering school Esiea found a way to compromise Tor in a way that made it possible decrypt communication going through it.[32] They first made a map of Tor network nodes, then managed to control one third of them and fix their encryption keys and algorithm seeds. Using these known keys and seeds, they could uncrypt two encryption layers out of three, and broke the third one by a statistic based method. In order to redirect Tor trafic to the nodes they controlled, they used both Denial-of-service attack and packet spinning methods.
Seems reasonable seeing as everything is down
interesting, but you know the deep web is basically all other computers connected to the Internet?
Hell, your computer is part of the deep net if it's connected to the Internet. Since you cannot search up your friends computer on the Internet.

Agreed. Hits can cost millions of dollars, or if it's your neighbour, 50,000-100,000.
It's hard to find cheap ones.
