grabbed an electric fence once because some teacher (carer?) was holding my wrist too tight on a zoo trip (i was 6 :v:)
got stocked by a few plugs too
Touched an electric fence when I was a kid :v: also went under ECT a few years ago in attempt to tame my fucked up head. NEVER again :tired:
I'm that kid who inserted 2 keys connected to each other via keychain into a 100V parallel plug.
And cause the whole apartment building to shut down for a few seconds. Thankfully its all fancy so it turned on by itself without needing someone to go down to reset the breakers.
Also felt the sweet shock of a 50V dc telephone line through my tongue when I thought it would be funny to lick the connectors.
Was 12, touched the capacitor in a disposable camera I pulled apart.
Was 18, blew a ceramic capacitor up with a power supply from the mains in my electronics class.. alligator clips flailed and landed on my right hand / left arm.
Was 20-something, shorted the car battery when filling wiper fluid (completely different sides of the engine bay).
I'm a clown.
i usually can get zapped at any time, mainly because i don't have grounding in my house so none of my devices are grounded and i get zapped by touching anything that's metal and related to electricity.
Also i get zapped often when i hook my phone to my pc via line in(used to do that few years ago), that motherfucker zaps every time i want to press the lock button or the volume buttons, and my phone is Galaxy A5. Whose good idea was make a phone that can easily zap you. And that's why every time when i deal with something electric i use a fiber cloth or use my clothes to touch something.
my ps1 zapped me as a kid
and having lived in the countryside for the majority of my childhood I've had a lot of experience with fucking around near electric fences
My grandma was complaining about their family computer running slow so I came over to check it out. I turned the PC off and went to go unplug it for some reason (think it was to clean out dust) and I put one hand on the case. It felt like touching one of those gag gifts that shock you when you hold it (like pressing down on a pen), except much worse. I have absolutely no idea how this happened or what caused it but I had to pull the plug from the other end.
No, but one time when I was working on my computer I had cut my finger and a drop of blood shorted out a resistor or something. Whatever it was wasn't important since that motherboard kept on trucking for a few years, even surviving two completely separate water cooling leaks.
Other than that the most intense electric current that went through my body is probably a 9 volt battery.
I put a pair of tweezers into a power socket when I was 2 years old. I didn't get hurt somehow. I actually remember the whole experience because of how much I scared my parents. It's my earliest memory
Was gonna plug in a lamp at work while it was raining. The wire was damaged and I was standing in a pool, so most of my body got shocked. Didn't really like the experience
I work at a bar and during closedown I put a blender (the stand) into a sink with water in it because there wasn't anywhere elese to put it at the time and as I finished cleaning I just went in to grab it and gave myself a nice shock
I wasn't a fan of the feeling but it's good for a laugh telling people what a retard I was.
In a school trip me and some other guys messed around with an electric cattle fence, when I touched it it felt like someone kicked me in the shin, but didn't hurt. Was really strange and exciting so I touched it multiple times.
Also when I was really young (4-7 years old I think?), my grandpa punished me and my sister by making us touch an electric fly swatter. I didn't really feel too sad after he passed away.
Also when I was like 12 years old I tried making Franklin's Bells with two cola cans, one grounded and the other pulling high voltage from a sheet of aluminium foil placed on the screen of a CRT TV, it didn't work so like the stupid shit child I was I thought "MAYBE THE CANS ARE TOO FAR APART, I'LL JUST MOVE THEM CLOSER" and grabbed them both at the same time, closing the circuit and sending a couple dozen kilovolts through my body, it hurt like a motherfucker
Eh when I was a kid I just had to know what the whole deal of the knife and toaster thing was all about, for some reason I remember just taking a knife and sticking it right in the toaster whilst it was on, safe to say I never fucking did that again.
My old metal-cased iPod Nano used to regularly fucking shock me, and it hurt like a bitch, too.
I don't think that was supposed to happen.
Shit I thought I was the only one, my Nano used to randomly shock me out of the blue every so often. Seemed to happen whenever I rubbed the back of it because at first it felt like it was vibrating then it started to fucking hurt.
first time was when i had my light switch unplugged with exposed wires sticking out and tried turn on the lights
second time some dude tazed me for fun
that was a shocking experience
At work our hanging light displays are plugged into outlets that are built into their support racks. There have been several times when I've gone to take a clearance fixture down for a customer, attempted to pull the cord out (which normally gets stuck in an awkward way since I am arching myself backwards to get to it), and had my finger slip into the prongs as I'm pulling it out.
When I was in my art class, I got to mess around with the wet grinders for our glass projects. They were notorious for giving off nasty electrical shocks for fingers that got too close. I was on the receiving end and it was like being pinched, could feel it up to my arm. The weird part? If I kept my finger around the sponge that kept the grinder wet (or whatever, been a while), the shock was less painful and more enjoyable. Sometimes a constant buzz.
Also I have a weird tendency to shock people via static shock. It happens almost every day aaaaaaaa
Was unplugging a UPS to change the battery/clean it out since it was getting dusty as hell, plug was in the outlet pretty tight, got it half way out and I decided to reach a finger in behind the half way plugged in plug for more grip.
ouch.
My science professor charged me up on a bicycle-powered static generator and the rubber shoes I wore had holes in the bottom. Nothing lethal, but the static jumping out of my toes felt like I was dancing on firecrackers. I shook hands with someone and the shock threw them out of their seat.

You probably had your other hand on a radiator or anything that's grounded. The same thing happens to me when I accidentally touch the radiator in my bedroom with any body part, while I have one hand on my computer. Whenever it happens it annoys the ever living shit out of me because of the fact that our outlets aren't grounded.
At work, pretty much on a monthly basis, usually it's a ~10uF capacitor charged to 340V from some switched mode power supply discharging through my hand instead of whatever it was normally supposed to.
That wakes you right the fuck up
This sounds familiar, at work we have this big fuck off 3kW 60V supply that can literally weld two pieces of 16Ga metal together. And we use it for powering our big UV LED Panels.
Previous incarnation of our driver board is finicky and while 60V isn't lethal, the sparks are sure as hell dangerous. TL;DR our driver board once blew up due to a fatal short from the switching node to 60V (buck) and I was two inches away from it tuning the currents and had a decent amount of sparks and blue smoke come my way.
(I wasn't disfigured :v: )
Never from mains, but obviously I've touched a lot of electric fencing.
I stuck a fork in an outlet once, way back when I was little. I got a little buzz, but I was okay.
Not sure if this counts, but when I was little I used to stick the ends of 9 volt batteries to my tongue all the time. I thought it felt nice and tingly.
Got 2,500,000 volts through me from a Tesla coil. Wasn't a good time.
a few times
When I was younger I took an electronics class. It was mainly soldering premade circuit kits. I put a piece of solder in an electric socket. It didn't shock me, but a gob of molten solder fell out of the socket.
Years later I was at camp, and I completed a circuit of an electric fence. Biggest shock of my life.
I was not a bright kid back then.
Mixed two different batteries in a Wii Remote.
Result was the fire alarm almost going off, and my arm getting a pretty bad shock.
a put a key in an outlet when i was a toddler
it was an electrifying experience to say the least

That shouldn't be possible.
That shouldn't be possible.
Not sure what totally happened, but I still got shocked in the end so it's still relevant :v:

how did 3 volts shock you lol
