Why's FP so slow? And it's down like all the time, it's very annoying
Why's FP so slow? And it's down like all the time, it's very annoying
It's not down all the time, it's been pretty stable the past few days
I think Facepunch could benefit from something new with HTML5, called the Application Cache. It's more reliable than just trusting the browser to cache certain things such as images and scripts, because you can just tell the browser what to cache using a manifest file instead of messing around with Expires headers and such.

Yeah, good idea.
But then Internet Explorer wouldn't work rig--oh wait. Yeah, good idea.
It doesn't really matter for the whole caching thing, but I guess if you really cared about Internet Explorer users you could just prompt them to install Google Chrome Frame or update to a newer version.
But then Internet Explorer wouldn't work rig--oh wait. Yeah, good idea.
You use IE? Pffft. That's silly. I'd suggest you move to Chrome. And I'm sure we don't need that. Browsing FP offline would be silly.
I bet this has been asked every page, but when is search going to be up? There should be some FAQ in the OP's post
The forums recently moved to Amazon which is hosted in the U.S. after repeated DDoses by the JIDF. That's also the reason why Righthaven is suing Garry in Nevada District Court.
You realize that the JIDF didn't actually DDoS us right? Garry said so. That was just a joke.
And I'm sure we don't need that. Browsing FP offline would be silly.
It's not for browsing Facepunch offline, it's a more robust and reliable caching system that allows you to choose what you want to be downloaded.
How come the quick-reply box doesn't always pop out when I hit reply? About a third of the time I'm taken to the reply page instead.

I'll look into that.
How come the quick-reply box doesn't always pop out when I hit reply? About a third of the time I'm taken to the reply page instead.
Works fine for me.
You use IE? Pffft. That's silly. I'd suggest you move to Chrome. And I'm sure we don't need that. Browsing FP offline would be silly.
Caching's not just for offline browsing
Hi. What's been going on since I was banned?
Hi. What's been going on since I was banned?
facepunch has been a better place
There should be some FAQ in the OP's post
If someone would be willing to compile one, then Dragon will probably add it.
If someone would be willing to compile one, then Dragon will probably add it.
No point, the same questions will still be asked over and over again.
If someone would be willing to compile one, then Dragon will probably add it.
Nobody ever bothers to read an OP. To much effort when they can be lazy fucks and just ask the question anyway.
Maybe have it as a separate thread?
What are the rules regarding permabans? I've gathered that when you are perma'd your IP also gets blocked?
What are the rules regarding permabans? I've gathered that when you are perma'd your IP also gets blocked?
Yeah, for three months though. If I was banned for a year+ (excluding pbans) you'd see Bounty Hunter have a fuckton more posts
I don't think IP bans work currently
I think they may have been disabled, as their pretty easy to bypass
I think they were disabled. I was pbanned on my main and after a month i could log in as an alt.
I think they were disabled. I was pbanned on my main and after a month i could log in as an alt.
Why would you make a banme then come back on an alt in less than a month?
I've often wondered the same thing..
I think they may have been disabled, as their pretty easy to bypass
what merits the boxes?
Furries automatically get rated dumb. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1028310-FurryFlagger-VERSION-2-is-available! You're a furry. [editline]19th November 2010[/editline] I disabled the auto-dumber for now only because I don't want to get banned.
You're a furry.
Yeah, that things got some serious issues..
When will Garry or who ever helps develop facepunch fix media tags if editing or quoting? Whenever I seem to edit or quote my or anothers post, it seems to just butcher the tag into this uneditable, clickable link which I have to delete and replace with the original tags content. Another question which I know is often asked, is why isn't there any content on facepunch which inspires people to make better quality posts which rewards them in the longrun? An example being the old Smartness system. I know it often gave people negative smartness for various words which the system didn't understand was 'english', but why can't any similar features be added which results in a larger 'e-peen' while also giving newbies more reasons to stay longer than to go elsewhere?
Yeah, that things got some serious issues..
Nah, it's perfectly fine.
