I gave it back, what's up with it?
Nevermind, it's fine now. Maybe 5 hours ago it said that searching was limited to golds and mods and I was just looking at my recent posts.
I'm getting the "Search is only available to golds and mods" message sometimes, is search only available for normal users at certain times?
IIRC it was for generic stupid questions that didn't go anywhere else (Back in the days when general discussion was about discussing general stuff)
'General stupid questions' I'm OK with. 'Shitpost central', as the case is now, I'm not OK with. Seriously, you can go to /b/ and get much the same experience as Fast Threads, just with more dicks.
i would say b is probably better than fast threads
yeah, /a/ and /jp/ are a lot worse places to post
yeah, /a/ and /jp/ are a lot worse places to post
The WWOEC Forums are the worst place on the entire internet.
Would it be difficult to add a ban history option to someone's profile? It's not as big of an issue now but before search was enabled for blues, it could be difficult to find any posts someone had made to find there ban history to see why they were banned.
How did you know they were banned without seeing them in the event log or posting? And you could maybe google them.. [editline]1st December 2010[/editline] Though that'd only work for people who've been here a while [editline]1st December 2010[/editline] Though that'd only work for people who've been here a while
You can tell they're banned because they have no profile image and their name is red. [editline]1st December 2010[/editline] Ie: if they're in your friend list or if you're on their profile page.
Ah I imagine it would be fairly easy, Basically just adding the calendar from under your posts to your profile..
That's why I brought it up even though everyone can now search posts. It would be somewhat convenient and could save unnecessary searching trying to find someone's posts just to find their ban history.
An event log on a users profile page would be pretty useful, currently you would need to search for their posts then open a post then hit the event log from there. [editline]edit[/editline] Whoops, I should refresh pages in case of new posts. Would also be useful if posts on a page auto-updated but I guess that would be pretty hard on the servers too.
Would also be useful if posts on a page auto-updated but I guess that would be pretty hard on the servers too.
I've got a feeling there's a script for that.. Brb, looking.
Would also be useful if posts on a page auto-updated but I guess that would be pretty hard on the servers too.
I believe the Faceraper Greasemonkey script did that but it was broken in the VB4 update and is no longer being updated.
Can't find it on userscripts.org automerge
That's why I brought it up even though everyone can now search posts. It would be somewhat convenient and could save unnecessary searching trying to find someone's posts just to find their ban history.
Question though, the three places you usually get to someones profile, is through the event log, or a post, or a PM, all of which show ban history, which case would you get to someones profile not through them, and how often?
I actually use this URL quite often rather than searching for someone's post: http://www.facepunch.com/member.php?username=nekosune And what I've already said, through my friend list or through other peoples' profiles.
As he said above, on his own profile's visitor messages he ninja'd me, but I gues that would work too :v:
Okay, didn't think of that, sorry.

A lot of the time it can be from links from other forums or talking about members, even on someones comments on their page you can wonder why the person who commented was banned.

Do I have to wait till the 16th to be a gold member (that's my join date)?
yes
Do I have to wait till the 16th to be a gold member (that's my join date)?
People don't celebrate their birthday's on the first of the month so why would it be different?
People don't celebrate their birthday's on the first of the month so why would it be different?
What if I registered on a leap year? :v:
I've got a feeling there's a script for that.. Brb, looking.
? It's buggy as fuck, though.
What if I registered on a leap year? :v:
How does the Gold Member script react to someone who registered on the 29th of February? Do they get it on the first of March, or do they never get it or does it take 8 years :v:
I would imagine it is, has this user been on longer then 2 years, ie
if(dateNow-dateRegistered).Years>2
(in BADLY mangled pseudocode) so the leap year part wouldn't really matter, on the 1st of march they would get it.
I should have thought of that.. My excuse, I just woke up But yeah, that would be an obvious way to get over the leap year issue :v: Next question, Would I get Gold Member on the start of my 29th of January, or would I have to wait 10 hours for London (Where I assume Facepunch servers time is) to catch up to me, and begin their 29th Kinda pointless knowledge, but just interested
