pungyo = friend?
I want to travel back in time so I can punch the 'creator' of this language in the throat.
"heh, alphabets you say? we have tens of thousands of 'letters' in ours, care to memorize them all?"

It kind of makes me wonder how much trouble a lot of immigrants in America go through to learn English.

Yeah but the characters aren't letters, they're entire words - there's no such thing as the Chinese alphabet.

My dad is, but I think everybody eats these on New Years
我认为健康很重要。我每天吃蔬菜。我和水,我不和可乐。我每星期三次举重。
These assignments are stupid as shit.

我不是中国人但是握住在韩国和我是韩国人所以我知道很多的词语。

明年,我去在北京!
Used to learn Chinese in school, but I switched out of it due to some difficulties I had with the way the teacher taught the class. I'm decent at speaking and reading, but when it comes to writing characters I am awful. We had quizzes on new characters every day or two, and it ended up destroying my grade and my confidence in my Chinese. (I had taken 3 years of it before this happened, and I was quite sad to part with it.)
I did go to China for a few weeks though, which was fucking awesome. The food there is phenomenal, never mind the wonderful sights, and I would go back just to taste the different types of food from the different parts of the country.
I also have Chinese-American friends (some from the north, others from the south), who continually argue about which region's food is superior. Ah damn, it makes me hungry just to think about china.
鸡白 "ji1 bai2": lit. "chicken white", fig. "pussy" (not an insult)

This one is an insult, at least for Hokkien dialect (same meaning, more offensive sense)
You use it to scold cunts
cheebai

Yes, this. You are literally saying: In 8 months time......I will do this and that.
Thanks!

I can't believe how bad the grammar of most of the posters in this thread are to be honest

I have a feeling many of the posters here may be native English speakers or second generation Chinese.
On a side note, feel free to correct cases of bad grammar. For someone like me, who hasn't have received any proper Chinese education past grade 3 in China, it's somewhat difficult to instantly grasp grammar when compared to native speakers.
Two words.
Dynasty Warriors.
Funniest comedy/drama/whatever Chinese film I've seen imo

Hi Chinese speakers,
This is a copy-paste response going across language threads - we in the Language Learning thread are organizing a public list of facepunchers who want to be made available to practice their native language with someone else, who'd also be learning the language. If anyone wants to be added to the list (Spanish or otherwise) PM me your language(s) of choice. Cheers!
