The Intruder - Survival Horror Game with Continuous Time

Okay to be honest I don't find those glisadonoo sounds that scary
All I know is that the static noise from the trailer when you first see what may be the Intruder...
that is scary as fuck.
Closed that tab before you can say "OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT"
Were you at all uneasy when you were modelling the intruder?
I don't think the Intruder should do any sounds itself. It being totally quiet would be much creepier.
Or it makes Predator clicks sometimes.
Wait NOPE.
Royzo, the Intruder better goddamn TALK in glissando sounds
Like how Slender makes static noises up the hoo-wah,or SCP-173 makes grinding noises all over the place
Glissando sounds had better be the "...oh shit oh shit oh shit" sound of this game
Also for some reason it looks to me like Glissando sounds would fit him from that small glimpse in the trailer.

I mean he should just make "zooooooooooooop" sounds like ALL THE TIME
Walking around? "step step step zooooooooooooooooop"
Opening a door? "creeeeeaaaaak zooooooooop"
Chasing you to rip your arms out of their sockets while stepping on the ground unnecessarily loudly to raise the tension and your hearbeat through the ceiling, roof and skybox? "BOOM BOOM BOOM ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP" with the ZOOOOOOOOOP being super high-pitched and loud and angry-sounding
also if you turn and look at him up-close your speakers will start goddamn VIBRATING and your table will start shaking with all the incredibly loud and terrifying "ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP" (as well as your screen being covered in all sorts of unholy static or other distortions so you can't see shit)
am I the only one that thinks glissando sounds sound like zoooop
So he's Bill Cosby
Zoop Zoop
Were you at all uneasy when you were modelling the intruder?
No, not at all. It had a Classic Zombie model and I was just working on the AI one day and I figured I needed a model that had the right dimensions that I could start animating.
I don't know if that'll happen once I make the final model. I mean, it's like making a sculpture of an axe wielding psychopath; it looks like something that's scary, but it isn't unless it actually starts screaming and swinging an axe at you.
Hurrah, 9%!
Are you sure? Right now it's at 6% on its Greenlight page and 7% according to that list someone made.
So he's Bill Cosby
Zoop Zoop
Zip zop zoobedy bop I'm gonna rip your arms out of their goddamn sockets bop
[editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
glissando always makes me think of snoooooooooooooooooooop
[editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
which would kill horror for me because i'd imagine snoop dogg was chasing me and i'd just chill with him
I can't wait to see what kind of model and sound replacement mods people will make for this,oh man

Royzo,if this doesn't get on steam, just release it somewhere else first and then promote it for greenlighting, you don't have to(and possibly shouldn't) launch it on steam

You suggest that I possibly shouldn't distribute it via Steam. Why is that? Right now it seems like my best bet.
I've heard nothing but horror stories of people distributing their games themselves (PayPal refusing to pay out because of 'suspicious activity' (i.e. the game actually doing well), everyone buying the game for $0.01 in a pay-what-you-want model) and EA's Origin, not even specifically regarding independent games.
I'm open to alternatives. I'm not aware of much good ones though.
Desura is nice
Yeah Desura seems nice for mods.

Wait a minute, didn't you get a source engine license?

In some ways, putting the game on Steam might not be too good for it,mostly because alot of people just see these random little indie games being put on and think "eh nothing special not even gonna bother clicking it to see what it is",so it might be better to put it somewhere where it may garner more attention at first glance or something.
How is this only at 7%
The game looks absolutely phenomenal, if only there were some way to really boost the "advertising".

Once a beta or some sort is out the ratings will sky rocket. Or if someone like TB does a video on it, unlikely though.
I upvoted it, Mr. Royzo! Hope you get it published.

I don't recall any horror games tb has done
I don't recall any horror games tb has done
Amnesia he did... and that's about it. He admitted hes cowardly when it comes to horror games iirc and like i said, unlikely.
Wait a minute, didn't you get a source engine license?
I'm working on that, they wanted me to see what the community thought first, so I knew it was necessary to get a license in the first place.

If that's the case it's probably due to bad promotional work on my part, which would then also happen on other platforms. In any case there's going to be a lot more people who get to see it in the first place if I get it on Steam.
I'll look into Desura.

Who is this TB person? I might have heard of him, but I've never encountered that abbreviation before.

Greenlight isn't about how good a game looks/is, it's a popularity contest.
Sadly.
Good point. It hasn't been necessary so far because ammo is quite scarce. I think I can figure something out that uses existing keys in a context-sensitive way.
Not R though. You should be able to close your eyes any time you wish.
might be late but...
q for remember, r for reload?
c for call to mind
[editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
or f for flashback but then you got to rebind flashlight
rebind flashlight to t for torch
q for quarrel your inner soul?
but q and e could possible be used for lean left/right to peek behind corners and c is a decent alternative
i assume 1 through 9 will be weapons/items keys
maybe tab? for "tab into your memories"? :v:
Rigth mouse button for Remembering?
[editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
Middle mouse button for "Memories"?
[editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
Well with this logic pressing "Esc" will make you escape from the Intruder

and pressing space will transport you out of the atmosphere :V:
You should get the 11 drunk guys and have them have a trailer marathon with your game in it.
maybe royzo should show off some more images, maybe even a second trailer, to drum up some popularity and votes?
he could do one of those things where if he reaches a certain percent then an image or some info will be revealed?
Well, one of the best ways to get attention to the mod is to get PewdiePie to play it.
I'm not saying I like his videos, I really don't.
But Greenlight is all about appealing to the masses, and getting someone like him who has almost like cult following him to play it will boost it's popularity greatly, and it'll probably get a lot more donations.

alternatively, you could get Cry to play it. he's somewhat less popular, but you can bet the results will be funny and he'll probably do a much better job of showcasing the game.
that is, assuming Royzo even wants to show people what the full game is going to be like yet.
