Looks awesome Royzo! Never knew you had the knowledge to mod etc, rated it and I hope that it works out for you.
I'm a programmer/game designer at heart. 3D modelling is more of a Violon d'Ingres of mine. Somehow I ended up getting known almost exclusively for the latter.
Horror isn't really my thing, but the concept and trailer were enough to get me interested. When I initially saw this it reminded me of the opening bit in Scream, where the scene progressively becomes more intense as it's revealed the killer is watching Drew Berrymore's character (although this is obviously on a much larger scale and fairly different). Interested in what you make of this, Royzo.
Defiantly telling all my friends to up-vote this, will be great!
oh god this shit is too fucking SPOOKY for me not even kidding the part where mr. spooky appears and everything starts going weird my eyes went weather aaa i just watched the trailer again fuck you royzo stop making spooky games that i will be forced to play
Needs spoky skeletons Loving the Amnesia-like interactivity, feels much more immersive
Will there be any small jump-scares just to catch the player off-guard? It'd work if they were rather subtle, for instance a book falling off a bookshelf. Doesn't seem scary but if the player doesn't know where the intruder is, he walks into a random room and something falls on the floor he'll be more paranoid.
There will be jump-scares, but not in the sense of a monster jumping out in front of you and going ooga blooga. If you scare the shit out of yourself you either ran out of time or you made a poor decision.
I fucking love games that let you manipulate objects using the mouse, well aka penumbra this game looks awesome, and I hate timed things because I get scared and panic, so I'll look forward to this.
already don't want to play it becuase i'll shit myself to death i mean, i found SLENDER scary. playing this? yeah fuck that. voted on greenlight just got to say,
Press R to CLOSE YOUR EYES and remember stuff
TO HELL WITH THAT! WHEN YOU OPEN THEM HE MIGHT BE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! nopenopenope
Sounds cool. Gj
Sorry if this has been asked before but, after the seven in game days does your level of preparation affect the end result? EDIT: If you do include a cooperative game mode, proximity to your team mates should take play. In game chat becomes quieter as you separate until you can longer hear them. Maybe include walkie talkies, or radios you can find around the map. Another suggestion would be a mixture of the cooperative and offensive game modes. 2 players prepare for the Slenderman, and 2 players play a mysterious force. Maybe the forces can even choose the location of some items on the map. Mixing it up each time you play; unless that's already randomized. It would probably be really hard to make but it would make for a great horror game.
So, you see something weird and then you think you'll be attacked so you go into doomsday survivor mode? Is that right? I keep thinking of the Strangers movie with the bunny costume breaking into a couple house
On-disk clean pants DLC available at launch for only $2.
I love you now, going to vote for this game as soon as I can [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] The part in the trailer where something opens the door gives me fucking goosebumps, did you make the trailer yourself?

Directed by Christopher Nolan and scored by Hans Zimmer. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline]
Sorry if this has been asked before but, after the seven in game days does your level of preparation affect the end result?
Entirely. If you prepare poorly you might be low on health, unable to run, without ammo or without a weapon to begin with. It's not binary though. There's a significant amount of factors at play, so you can be unprepared, well prepared, or anywhere in between.
So does the Intruder stalk you as you try to prepare? And will it fuck with you like randomly opening doors and such like in the trailer?
Reposting my Coop idea from the last thread. Two players might not see the same things. This is a basic example, but Player A could be in the kitchen with player B, and see the door open. Player B does not see anything out of the ordinary, but hears a scratching noise. To player A, slenderman is in the room and ignoring player B. Player A starts running away, but player B perceives no reason to. This would effectively get the players to run away from eachother.
So does the Intruder stalk you as you try to prepare? And will it fuck with you like randomly opening doors and such like in the trailer?
I don't think he was "randomly opening a door" in the trailer, I think he was coming TROUGH the door.
I don't think he was "randomly opening a door" in the trailer, I think he was coming TROUGH the door.
Oh god, what if I was unprepared? Nopenopenope.
Oh god, what if I was unprepared? Nopenopenope.
Well there's always the spatula in the drawer. And some wine glasses
I don't think he was "randomly opening a door" in the trailer, I think he was coming TROUGH the door.
Fun fact: that was the actual Intruder NPC opening the door in the trailer.
so is the intruder the "blank-faced tall man", or will we have to play it to find out? EDIT: By non-essential items, do you mean things like gascans, so you can set up a trap?
I think that if this game had a multiplayer component, that it shouldn't be straight co-op. Perhaps have an emphasis that you win if you survive, irregardless of the other player's survival? That would promote infighting, which plays really well with the mechanic of your choices determining survival. Additionally, why not have a randomized traitorous aspect? Perhaps, at the start of the game, there would be a random choice that any one player might hear a voice in his head from the intruder, compelling him to sabotage the other players to ensure his own survival. This would not only raise the question amongst the players of who the traitor is, but if there even was one in the first place. Combine this with a mechanic that player's voices only extend beyond a few rooms, this could easily amp up the tension and fear in a multiplayer environment.

When will we get to see some more media? Like screenshots that aren't from the video? I'd love to see some more of the house, like what size it is and some of the different rooms.
Twist: It's Splendorman.
Oh god, the comments. "Lol, Slender much?????"

I'd love to see some more of the house, like what size it is and some of the different rooms.
There's a guy who apparently has a massive following who wants to do a sneak preview thing. That's probably the next thing you'll get to see. I want to work on it some more first, so expect to see that some time in the future.
Will it be possible to set up some Home Alone style traps around the house? At the very least could we place objects that would make a noise if the Intruder interacted with them? (Broken glass on the floor, pushing furniture in front of doors, tripwires, etc)
Watch this game get real big and popular and then all the cheapskate youtubers start harvesting it for money by screaming in to the mic whilst they play it
Oh god, the comments. "Lol, Slender much?????"
I'm not Slenderman, i'm my original character; Blenderman!
