Don't worry, since skeletons are based on humans they will not have backwards facing legs.
stop it it's not funny [editline]26th September 2012[/editline] seriously
The intruder has been spotted! I honestly wouldn't mind that.
spooky scary skeletons send shivers down my spine
stop
hammer time.
hammer time.
Gee, like that hasn't been played to death. But really, can we please stop with the stupid skeletons. It's filling this thread with pointless filler that has nothing to do with the game and it's a total disappointment when I see 10 new posts; none of them actually having any content.
I got an idea: When you beat the intruder, he disappears and leaves an item in his place. Then you faint, scattering all the stuff you had across the game area but always putting the items that the intruder dropped in one of several possible locations. Taking the items will allow for a more reliable memory (or "R"emember) and slowly uncover the big picture behind your first encounter with the intruder but you will need to find them again when you defeat the intruder another time. If you die, one of the items is removed.
I think what people are forgetting is that it's pretty much just Royzo making this game. A lot of the suggestions that people have been making would probably be difficult to implement well for even a large team of developers.
I SWEAR TO GOD, NO backwards legs, PLEASE.
One of the Intruders forms should be something like this: Imagine the door opening, you point your gun at head/chest level but then THAT rushes towards you instead.

You never know if it's simply going to walk in your door, or crawl in your attic on all fours.
stop it it's not funny [editline]26th September 2012[/editline] seriously
I'm hilarious. Admit it, you love me.
I'm hilarious. Admit it, you love me.
No, we really don't. So please leave if you aren't going to contribute constructively to the thread.
Thought this was "Intruder", the tactical shooter at first. Both look awesome.
No, we really don't. So please leave if you aren't going to contribute constructively to the thread.
Your words sting like a jellyfish, baby. Why do you treat me so?
In case the intruder will be procedural with different appearances including animations. It would be awesome to see a version of the intruder move similar to the twitchers in Cry of Fear.
In case the intruder will be procedural with different appearances including animations. I think The Intruder's character would be better suited to a more subtle animation, one that's less obviously monstrous but still strangely off-putting. sort of like a human's, but... different, somehow. think Uncanny Valley. Bipedal but there's just something a bit off about its strides, its posture, etc.
Oh a new po--- WAHT THE FUCK GUYS
I imagine something imitating human motion. Bipedal but there's just something a bit off about its strides, its posture, etc.
just as long as it doesn't have that broken-neck-leaning-to-the-side thing going on
I just thought of something that isn't used enough in games that involve firearms. Anybody who has shot anything bigger than a .22 or .410 can tell you that firing a shotgun or pistol inside is very, very loud. Outside, not as much but loud enough. I think it'd be a neat feature if your could incorporate the partial deafness and ringing ears that comes from shooting a firearm without hearing protection.
Perhaps to help counter-act this, one of the items you could find could be some form of hearing protection (Like the type you'd find on a construction site or at a shooting range)
But it also deafens the ambient sounds when The Intruder is near-by.
But it also deafens the ambient sounds when The Intruder is near-by.
Bonus effect: Completely removes the fear effect the character gains from sounds the Intruder makes. If there's a sort of fear effect meter thingymabob like what's in Amnesia or Penumbra.
i dunno about that, i'd shit myself if my hearing was impaired while a sneaky monster was in my house

If possible there could be variants of hearing protection: the simplest would be wads of cotton or paper towels (which wouldn't protect against the effects of, say, a .357 magnum), while the best would be a set of shooting ears.
There should be a possibility of finding some kind of drugs, so you could negate all the effects of fear if there are some and fight the Intruder in candyland. But of course, some elements would change.
There should be something like Melatonin. It allows you to sleep for shorter periods of time, but you get just as much energy out of it. However, Melatonin, even after you wake up, will make you groggy, causing you to move slower and be clumsy for a short time.
