It would be spooky if it had a face like this
Do you think you could show us any non spoiler-y concept art of the intruder?
Mister Royzo, do you know if the maps will be useable in Garry's Mod? It's just that the ideas of the maps sound pretty interesting, and I'm sure you'll produce something of higher quality than most maps that use the same ideas.
So probably around 20 bucks (give or take, depending on how much you think it's worth), and a release next year? I suppose I can live with that. Thanks for the heads up.
If you care to share, this overworld map, any more details on how that works?
I'll pitch an idea: Imagine if you had a MP version where you could play as the Intruder its self, scare the piss outta the other player. lol
If this game barely even resembles Erie, then I will be happy.

I think it's primarily the feeling of being chased that SPOOKS the shit out of people.
You may want adding some sort of smooth transitional music when it become night or day.
Think Underhell or A New Zero.
Something subtle and barely noticeable but gives a sense of dread.

a rooster crowing then abruptly stopping.
a rooster crowing then abruptly stopping.
Now THAT would be brilliant. I can picture it now...
COCK-A-DOO-
The faraway rooster's abruptly silenced cry echoes into the fresh dawn.
For a brief moment, all falls quiet. The birds around you stop chirping and even the wind ceases to tickle the autumn-yellow leaves on the thin birch branches surrounding the yard.
You walk out to the front porch and listen. For what seems like an eternity and a half, you stand as still as everything around you and simply listen.
It's as if nature itself had died and left the forest and its creatures mourning in an eerie wake. Everything about the scene feels so deeply wrong in your gut.
The suspense starts becoming unbearable. In your head, you briefly consider running from the house and never looking back.
Then a bird chirps, and another. A breeze slowly joins in for the chorus, and as suddenly as it had stopped, the whole forest is singing again.
Your tension eases, you feel yourself shuddering off all your immediate fears and anxieties.
(Que ambient music)

To be honest that game looks kind of lame, but I can relate to that feeling, it's good to have a nice mix of being chased, having to do things you don't necessarily want to do, scary environments, and anticipating the unknown.

When I played the game, yeah, it was kind of lame. But holy shit, the sheer feeling of having something, someone behind you creates for the ambience of kings.
I'm expecting hallway chase scenes, Royzo!
Many!

Being chased all the time would just get boring after a few plays.

I agree to some degree, I would personally have the Intruder wondering around and sweeping areas, giving chase only when you are spotted.
There would situations where you won't encounter the intruder at all during the night.
The monster you see in that video kinda wears on you after the first few deaths and then it becomes another obstacle rather than a monster.
Why do I always read this thread before going to sleep at 2AM
Well this game looks incredible even if I'm never going to play it because it would terrify me.
Just one thing bugs me, though. The stress of the Intruder stalking you throughout the game makes you, the character, forget where you put all your gathered loot in your house during the finale? And yet you're bringing things back to your house, and presumably placing them in specific spots where you, the player, would remember where they're at. How the hell is that supposed to work? Does the Intruder scatter them around to fuck with you before he hunts you down specifically?
Alternatively, did I just misread the features listing and that's what happens at the start of the game, thus explaining why all your crap is scattered everywhere? In which case, rock on.

When the game starts, your items are randomized, simulating memory loss since you don't know where everything is.

I said "barely resembles". I didn't say that the game should be The Condemned Intruder: Bear-Chase Simulator, I'm just saying that a chase aspect would work very well with the randomized intruder model ( so it doesn't wear down on you ) and it would make for a tension thick enough that you could touch it.
Think of it as a finale option, rather than the game itself.
( also it'd be nice if you could see the intruder while you're out looking for supplies in the days before he comes )
( also it'd be nice if you could see the intruder while you're out looking for supplies in the days before he comes )
imagine if the intruder was a broken down mannequin
and you'd see him lying on the ground
deep in the forest
and you'd never stop to think that it's the intruder
until you'd see him during the finale
fogging up your window

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just thrown way off track by the OP.
"As the game's concludes, the strain on your memory is so great that you don't even remember where around the house you left your items."
Bolded the relevant part for emphasis, as that's what I mean in the OP. I realize now that it was probably meant to be something more like "As the game starts" or something similar, but if you don't make that leap in logic it's just confusing as all hell.
Just had this idea what if the intruder disguised himself as a household item to watch your routines and better stalk you?
We had some ideas:

imagine if the intruder was a spatulamonster
and you'd see him lying in the drawer
deep in the kitchen
and you'd never stop to think that it's the intruder

Why do you post here
Now that I think about it, broken bones are pretty freaky. You understand, I don't really get freaked out by monsters at all, but just the idea of a strange-looking man walking around your house (I guess you would say that he's "intruding") with his jaw sliding back and forth in ways it most definitely should not actually creeps the fuck out of me.
Just in case you hadn't had enough suggestions already.
Anything new or interesting to liven up this thread?
Got the license, improve stuff, and/or implemented new features?
Or just conformation on being alive?
No updates and in a week doesn't mean it's dead.
