You're the first person to notice that The Intruder focuses mainly on cutlery-based horror. Honestly, have any of you even seen the trailer?
royzo are you willing to add tigers into the game
You can make a leopard print skin for the Intruder if you want
I hope you plan to add some easter eggs and stuff, that always makes games more interesting and fun (sorry if it's been said.)

Like the giant almost unsolvable puzzle that that one psychopathic mapper hid under an action half-life map which had naked dead dismembered little girls stuffed into a suitcase which no one found until like two years after the map was made, you could always make an analogue to that. [del]Please make an analogue to that, please.[/del]

Looks like a rip off of that slenderman game with a little bit more gameplay.

Includes one aspect that may or may not even be related.
Completely different gameplay and story in every way.
Totes ripoff.

Some people did a run through, but the dead girl in the suitcase was too graphic to show on youtube and there are absolutely no photographs of her on the internet..

There are more of these hidden throughout the mod, though this one is larger than the map itself.

Hondo himself is notorious for hiding massive puzzles within his other maps, too, ones which make the actual playing area of said maps insignificant. They're also notorious for being filled with colors and patterns which can damage someone's eye if they stare at it too much.
if there is gonna be a mod for this game. It should be the X-files type of mod.

Didn't FP have a server running this map? If I remember right we were doing this map and I couldn't get past that fake wall part at the beginning.
Haven't read all pages, but will you make it so some doors randomly slowly open, kinda like in the trailer? Obviously it shouldn't happen too often, but a well times door opening, with no one opening it, always gives me the creeps.
got to ask.
say i'm lucky and early in the game i found a old police revolver or something with a few bullets
what's stopping me from just crouching in a corner in a hallway and waiting for ... 'it'?
how DO we fight it?
does it physically attack us, or is it like the 'slender' game where if it gets to close you automaticly lose?
is it going to be like a boss and take thousands of hits with an axe before it even starts to bleed or is it like a human where one bullet will most likely kill it straight off
also
In the trailer, why ARE you running around looking for stuff
don't you spend the begining part looking for the stuff THEN 'it' comes?
You spend most of the game preparing yourself for that inescapable encounter, while trying to prevent running in to it early. You have several in-game days to explore the surrounding areas, look for weapons, ammunition and tools. You can even barricade your house to buy yourself some more time.
also, can you choose where to make your... final stand?

that was the intruder
Looks like a rip off of that slenderman game with a little bit more gameplay.
So, the intruder has skinny legs and the game has trees and a flashlight. What else do you find similiar to Slender?
This is so genius. I have a question about the intruder - how does the AI work? Is there set paths it'll follow, does it know where you are at all time, does it have to "look" for you, can it hear you? that sort of thing. I imagine it'll depend on the intruder assuming you're having a number of different ones that are randomized, I guess. It'd be cool to have fucked up royally so you end up hiding in a wardrobe, and can hear them wandering about the room looking for you.
I'd also suggest a rainbow six raven shield way of opening doors, where if you point at one and scroll the mousewheel it opens it a little way. Lets you peak through them easily!

Wonderful job reading the thread, I think you being here since 05' should know better...
royzo all the people hating on this game because it's 'similar' to slender
am i allowed to murder them all
all of them
[editline]5th September 2012[/editline]
oh dear god
i have become the intruder
don't make the same mistake as him
open the doors QUICKLY
and don't give them a chance to prepare
Now go forth and SLAY
I'm guessing we'll be hearing creepy glissando sounds in this

Right now ammo and guns are separate items, so if you find one or the other you haven't fully prepared yet.
I'm not going to divulge how exactly the Intruder works, figuring that out is part of the gameplay.
You seem to have missed the part of the Greenlight page regarding the finale event. At the conclusion of the game, the damage your mind has sustained renders you unable to remember where you left your items. They become randomly hidden in your house, and you have to look for them while knowing that The Intruder's arrival is imminent. That's the part that was shown in the trailer.

The doors work pretty much the same as the drawers. You can open them as slowly as you like.

Wait, does that mean the time we spend gathering resources would be for nought, because a little while before the Intruder comes in they just disappear and end up in various places?

He means if you sit at the house jacking off you suddently get amnesia you dont have anything to look for
Its to stop people from going LOL GOT MY 12 GAUGE AND FOOD NEXT TO ME IN THE LIVING WAT U GONNA DO?
I notice that in the trailer there is a parking garage-like setting.
Is there an chance or time where you can be outside of the house? Like your workplace?
Do like, when you look at one part of the room, and then like, away from that part of the room and then when you look back something is different about that.
I would like this.

Yes. You'll probably spend most of your time exploring the areas surrounding the house, looking for weapons.
I mean, you can stay at home if you want. I don't recommend it.
Meanwhile, The Intruder has ascended to number #23 most ranked. Several projects have come past us though, I saw that we were at #20 in an old screencap of that list.
What the fuck Slender: Source is #1
I think because it's getting quite a lot of publicity. The Intruder needs publicity like that.

On the subject of this, I think these things should only happen when the Intruder is coming or is close.
