Oooh, this'll be fun. I've got trust in Bruce and Raimi. If anyone could do it, they'll be the ones to pull it off. Really wish it was Bruce playing Ash, though. Nobody could take that role.
official red band is out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceBXUyuv4Q0
Shit looks fly. Seriously, this is the first movie in a long while that's going to be a day-1 watch for me.
Really? you guys are into this? I thought the trailer made it look shit to be honest. I've still got high hopes just because of the team, but the trailer was terrible and made it look like every other shit gorno type of horror film that's smeared its away across the screen in the past 10 years.
Fuck this remake. FUCK IT. It's just plain not evil dead without ash, no ifs ands or buts.
Fuck this remake. FUCK IT. That box cutter scene "NOPE NOPE NOPE"
It looks like they're going for a 100% serious tone. Which kinda makes me sad. The comedy in Evil Dead was one of the best parts of the movie.

They should've had a girl named Ashley who it seems is going to survive and is the last to die after doing everything in their power to make it seem like she was going to survive.

Well, Evil Dead did have some slapstick humor in there, but not anywhere near to the levels of Evil Dead II.
Evil Dead 2 was effectively a remake of the evil dead.
Apparently the screenwriter of Juno is working on this too. Hmm.
Apparently the screenwriter of Juno is working on this too. Hmm.
So is Raimi. Maybe we should factor in that they didn't want to spoil any potential humour in the trailer because they aren't being dumb fucks with the ad material [sp]Looking at Dredd here[/sp]?
That box cutter scene "NOPE NOPE NOPE"
It didn't get to me too bad. My buddy visibly flinched and his jaw dropped when it happened. I hope a lot of the movie has those moments. Not going too towards torture porn, but those classic "oh my god" moments that leave people talking about a particular scene for years and not just it's run in theaters.
Fuck this remake. FUCK IT. It's just plain not evil dead without ash, no ifs ands or buts.
I've always been an avid fan of the franchise. Ash is a great involvement, but rebooting it and involving him would be a mistake. I agree with earlier comments that it'd be great if Campbell had a cameo, a grumpy old hermit that warns the kids about the cabin but they don't listen, etc. But I'm content on them not including the character here. Fresh faces are great. I think the Scream franchise going into 4 would've been great had it not involved the original cast at all, though. A lot of people disagreed.
They should've had a girl named Ashley who it seems is going to survive and is the last to die after doing everything in their power to make it seem like she was going to survive.
Ash's real name was Ashley though. Ashley Williams. The nod probably wouldn't have been appreciated by fans of the original trilogy.
Apparently the screenwriter of Juno is working on this too. Hmm.
Discussed earlier, Cody is great for dialog, and I trust the decision to include her. Everybody has their ups and downs (I believe somebody brought up Jennifer's Body with Diablo Cody, and I'd like to throw out Spider-Man 3 for Raimi), but she was a master weaver of dialog with Juno. Just gotta let go of the past and hope she impacts the movie positively. Then again, a lot of dialog in film relies on talent and pacing.
So is Raimi. The three give me hope. I didn't get a chance to see [sp]Dredd[/sp], but I'm really hoping they don't try to go the comedy aspect with this one, not with how "chilling" the trailer was.
Evil Dead 2 was effectively a remake of the evil dead.
Well, yeah. Bruce even said that Ash died at the end of Evil Dead.

Holy Jesus.
Just saw this At the premiere event at SXSW, Alvarez announced that a sequel to Evil Dead is in the works.[24][25] In addition, Sam Raimi confirmed plans to write Evil Dead 4 with his brother; it was later specified that this film would be Army of Darkness 2.[26] At a WonderCon panel in March 2013, Campbell and Alvarez stated that their ultimate plan was for Alvarez's Evil Dead 2 and Raimi's Army of Darkness 2 to be followed by a seventh film which would merge the narratives of Ash and Mia Anybody else actually pretty hyped for this friday? I've seen some pretty decent reviews
I'm going with a buddy to see this on Friday. I don't know how I feel about another Evil Dead 2.
I'm going with a buddy to see this on Friday. I don't know how I feel about another Evil Dead 2.
You mean another half-remake? I'm pretty sure the plot of this one is much more comparable to Evil Dead 1 rather than 2
There already working on a sequel to this one. [editline]3rd April 2013[/editline] Even a possible crossover with Ash (with Bruce Campbell, no less).
This is more of a coincidental successor than a remake.

Seeing this movie later on tomorrow after work with my older brother. Expecting good things, will post here with my thoughts.
Just got back from seeing it. I will say that it was pretty good, in my opinion. Really gory, really really really bloody. Like, god damn there's so much blood.
Releasing on the 12th in the UK goddamit
pretty fuckin rad stay after the credits
Just got back from this. A solid film I'd say. It's not as scary as I wished it would be, but I will admit it was really suspenseful for me. Also, bloody as fuck. Plus, stay after the credits. You won't regret it. [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] One last thing, I wish they didn't have that one scene before the opening title. It felt unnecessary.
