Argh getting back into lucid's be a harsh mistress, the moment i think my dream recall is fine it goes and fucks me over.
Picture yourself in first person climbing a set of stairs in a stairwell. At each level picture on the wall the number counting up from 1. Do this and do not move a muscle, or scratch and I guarantee by 100 you will be lucid dreaming.
it might work for you, but that doesn't guarantee it works for everyone
I've tried it many times to no avail
I got into a sleep paralysis a couple of days ago (without trying to lucid dream), and I woke up myself without much hassle. What's weird is that when I had opened my eyes in real life, I saw this image in the middle of my sight, that looked like a transparent piece of paper with some drawings on. Like a comic in a newspaper. I had to blink several times for it to go away. I think it was really a hallucination, and I have no idea what it was all about.
Another time when I woke up from sleep paralysis, I saw a blue "grid" forming on my wall for a second or so. Also after I had open my real eyes.
Is it normal??? I only thought you hallucinated while you were in sleep paralysis, not after.
And a couple of days ago, I dreamt that I died, then I was reborn. It was really weird.
And the only lucid dream I have ever had was a couple of months ago, where I suddenly dreamt that I was laying down outside, facing down the greenest grass I had ever seen. I then flew up into the air and woke up. I wish it had lasted longer, because it was the greenest grass I had ever seen, down to the smallest detail. I'm amazed that I'm able to create such vivid imagery. It was almost more real than real life. :P
I had my first lucid dream a few nights back. I was awoken by my dog's barking at 6 in the morning. Still sleepy, I promptly fell back to sleep. The dream was nothing keenly interesting, except I was in my house, lounging in the living room to be precise, and IT WAS BEING SEIZED BY FUCKING ZOMBIES. I remember pulling out shotgun from thin air, much like the animations in FPSes. Then from what I recall, The dream abruptly shifted to a road in a jungle of sorts. I was manning a machine gun on top of a mobile APC while telling myself to wake the fuck up. I didn't last long enough to know where the vehicle was headed. Huh.
On the other hand, I've been trying relentlessly to induce another lucid dream. No luck though. Seems to happen on my brain's impulse and the techniques haven't helped at all so far.
Had a weird dream with coloured mento's which gave you different effects sort of like drugs. They were labelled with the drug they were assosciated with and taking loads of them made you feel all of the effects. They were going around a school that wasn't even mine and everybody was taking them and then I forget the rest...
Holy fucking shit, i found my old dream journal, now i have all these dreams flooding back to me, how odd.

I looked at mine from like 2010 a few weeks ago.
I don't remember some but I'm glad I wrote all of these down

That happens to me whenever I talk about an old dream. Especially that one where killing zombies became a federal crime, so I was chased down by a bunch of armed bikini models. Or the time my friend cloned himself and we went to a convenience store owned by Kim Jong Il that only sold cabbage and paper towels. Not to say I dislike reliving these moments, I'd just rather the demented part of my mind that makes these things up get back to work and make some new ones.
I had a dream where I was commander shepard, walking through a hall when suddenly, miranda stops me. Some conversation ensues, and we wind up totally making out before I say "I'm commander shepard, and you're my favorite babe in the citadel."
Then I woke up.
It started out in a mansion where my sister and I was being held in some room with prison cells in it. I heard some voices, and they sent in some Mexican dude with a shiv to kill me. I forget how, but I ended up killing him after he killed my sister. I chopped up his body and stuffed it in a garbage bag. I used the shiv to pick the lock on the door.
On the other side of the door was a balcony, with a long table with loads of cheese on it. I threw the bag of body parts onto the table, sending cheese flying everywhere. Then suddenly, I was in my garage.
My uncles crashed their car in the garage, and for some reason they had guns. I took the guns, one of which was a " Cz. Vz. 34 Pistolet" and I removed the magazines and rocked the slide back to void the chamber in all of them. Then I went onto the Facepunch KS chat and said "Guys, I killed a man today." and the chat suddenly closed. Then I woke up.
Sheogorath must be influencing my dreams.
Its half term and basically every night I am trying to WILD.
I have basically been trying as I go to sleep normally (not really expecting a lucid, but sort of for practice in staying still etc), then waking up 4 - 5 hours later (WBTB) then trying to WILD again. I havent even got into SP before (you know, while conscious anyway).
Any tips? I really really want to learn to WILD.

my tried and true method is to focus on absolutely nothing. it's hard to explain, but here's the best way i can think of.
you know how if you close your eyes and press on them, you see like fireworks or whatever? like you're not SEEING things, obviously, but your eye is still sending input to your brain?
as you fall asleep, that happens. it happens more and more frequently as you near deep sleep, because your brain does last minute checks to make sure everything's working before you ACTUALLY fall asleep. (This is the cause of auditory hallucinations, generally).
As you fall asleep, try to focus on those images. as you fall asleep they'll start to form fuzzy pictures, and those pictures will become clearer and clearer and eventually you'll be full on dreaming without realizing it. then you just go about your merry day.
it's hard to explain, but that's how i do it.

although my FAVORITE method is what orkel and i dubbed the FILD, or "Finger induced lucid dream". Basically you put all your focus on your pinky finger, and make as small, subtle movements as possible. like barely bending it. do that over time and you'll eventually be dreaming.
i wish i could summon orkel somehow. he described it better and generally had better luck with it.
Holy fucking shit, i found my old dream journal, now i have all these dreams flooding back to me, how odd.
keep them for as long as you can. it helps your recall to remember old dreams.
i had journals from as far back as like '05, but i lost most of them. :(
i was falling asleep on the couch a few minutes ago, and my house was making all sorts of sounds since the heat just turned on
i was completely aware of those sounds, and then i started to see the inside of the house
i thought i had just opened my eyes a crack, but when I then opened my eyes fully it became apparent that I was dreaming what I had just seen
Holy shit
Last night as I was falling asleep, I had an auditory hallucination of K saying things. Some of it made sense, but most of it was just gibberish that I would probably understand if I were asleep.
Today I decided to ride my dirtbike to school, because my car is out of gas. I woke up halfway through a weird-ass dream I couldn't remember. Half alseep still, I get my dirtbike started, and I suddenly remember a face from the dream and start hearing K speaking, clear as day. More gibberish. I don't remember it, but my heart rate shot up as if I had just finished an 800-meter race. I couldn't breathe and I had to sit down for a few minutes to shake off a gargantuan headrush.
so who has $80 they don't need anymore?

I'm always very skeptical about those devices.
fell asleep last night but I could feel my body. It was like a was asleep completely but I could sense my limbs were there and think about words but not full sentences. I remember the starting of a dream and suddenly I heard the loudest scream ever. It was horrific and it felt like it came from right next to me - scared the living shit out of me. Still not sure if it was some wacky dream stuff or someone actually screaming from next door at 3am.
Tried so many times to lucid dream. Never could. I'm going to try again tonight. Will post results in the morning.

I can never consciously induce them, I have to get a reality check in a normal dream for it to work (and even then it doesn't always work). Just do what I did the first time and pinch your nose. A lot.
Had a dream about going into a frozen medieval office tower. Sees a very long line. Not sure what these people are doing. I went up to a counter and this guy gave me a sword and told me to hunt down this evil vampire at a jungle. Went there and stab the vampire and he turns into ashes and suddenly this demora guy appear and congratulates me and gave me a staff of fire. Then I woke up.
Not sure what that dream was about anyways.
Had a dream about 2 aliens. One was called Steve 2D and the other Steve 9D. They both looked like green, stereotypical scrawny, big-headed aliens with huge black eyes, but 9D was a little greener. I remember only two parts of the dream. The first part was in my grandpa's garage, where my mom, my dog, and one of my friends I barely know were angry and yelling at me through the door to the house about something. Then I looked at 2D who was fiddling with some tools and 9D was sleeping on the air in a seemingly impossible yet somewhat sexually arousing position. The second part took place in the same house but in the guest room. I was starting to become suspicious of 2D and thought he was going to do something bad to me or my family. He was sitting on the bed watching T.V. I asked him where he came from. The room started shaking, 2D's face started to contort into a confused face, and he said MAAAAAAIIIIAAIIAIIOOOOOH. A text bubble that you see from comic books formed next to him simultaneously, and it said "EMEN~" in colorful, bold letters. 9D then came out of nowhere and slapped me, then I woke up.
There's more to the dream than that between the first and second part, but I forgot about it.

I don't know what to say, but I feel I should say something.
I've had dreams like this before, except unlike yours, they don't have happy endings, and in some of them, the person that does these wicked things is me (like as though I was possessed, it was horrifying watching myself do certain things).
I guess even though you don't have a relationship of any sort, it doesn't mean you don't care. Even just knowing and seeing is enough for there to be sympathy or care. For me, it's the feeling of hopelessness, that everything around me is going down to hell and I can't do anything about it; anything I say will be disregarded, my actions go unnoticed and even with the show of sorrow, I received no sympathy.
Perhaps you feel that some people can fall and that you should do something about it. I don't know... That's what I feel I should say.
So I tried WILD with both methods Zin and Oblivious posted. I got to auditory hallucinations, I heard someone whistling outside my door and my parent's bedroom door opening and closing from across the house. Then my body got a warm feeling and I had minor visualizations. But sadly I snapped back into full consciousness shortly after that. I'm not entirely sure how to jump into the dream but I'll be trying again tonight.

You're damn close. That's the hardest part for me personally. My auditory hallucinations are usually really loud and annoying and snap me out of it a lot.
Once you get to that point, focus on FILD. It's the easiest one to do (IMO) because your hands don't usually have any hallucinations associated with them, whereas mentally focusing or counting or whatever is at the mercy of your brain.
I hope that made sense. :<
I've been having this recurring dream/out-of-body experience for the past few months. At the most, twice in a month.
It involves me waking up in my bed, getting up to grab a glass of water, returning to my bedroom, standing in my doorway and seeing myself asleep.
I've had this dream around 8 times now, and every single time I awaken with chills and a sensation of dread. Interpret for me :<
What is the extent of what can be done in dreams? like... I know lucid dreaming is a way one can deal with nightmares, but can that be applied to more "abstract" things like certain negative emotions?

well you see, your mind is dreaming, and its coming up with some wacky situations, and then you wake up with some wacky feelings, like pretty much anyone who has ever dreamed before
super crazy i know

Yeah, I found it harder to focus on the music as time went on, other songs started popping in my head too. Also, I don't think I was in paralysis at all during it unless it goes away quickly. When I started moving after it failed I was just a little numb.
Odd thing though, my sub was really pushing me to get some sleep last night. I guess he knew that I would get far with it.
The song I used if anyone wants something simple:

Most of my dreams include murder. Should I be worried?
