I don't understand dreams. At all. It's like they're not really visions, but memories. Not seen, but as thoughts. Know what I mean?
Killed myself in a dream last night. Yuck.
Almost lucid tonight. I gave up because I felt my bed, bud I think it was just a half false awakening =__= I really gotte get better at this.
I had this weird dream where I was dressed as Asuka Langley at my ladyfriend's house, and my other friend (who I learned recently was lesbian) started to come onto me. She's hot, so that's a good thing. Was a fun dream.
Had a cool dream last night. I was stuck on another planet because it was winter there. The planet had heavy wobble around its axis and it caused extreme winds and a very cold winter at around -70c (and similary very hot summers). The winter also lasted over 6 months. After surviving through a powerful sandstorm (still winter) I discovered a village of aliens, they were all Mickey Mouses the size of a palm and they were scared of me. They took me to their leader, who was a clone of my father. I was surprised to find my father there so I asked him what was going on, and he told me he wasn't my father, he just looked like him. His name was Igor or something. And then met my mother and her name was different too. They were like doppelgangers. Oh and both of them were pirate captains Another dream about being in a commando squad during ww2, and secretly landing on some Japanese island. We knocked out some guards and stole their uniforms, and then got in a jeep. But some of them noticed us (Non-Japanese wearing their uniforms isn't suspicious at all) and they sent two soldiers after us, both riding a horse. Dream ended when we reached a city.
that sounds fucking awesome both of those dreams.
Had a dream last night that I found the entrance to hell. It was an endless tunnel with tracks in it, and we had to ride it down on slabs of metal around 2x2 metres in diameter connected to eachother like rollercoaster carts. And along the way there were constant traps and dangers, like falling boulders and slicing blades that we kinda couldn't avoid because we had to sit on the rolling slabs of metal. So we kept dying and resurrecting only to continue riding down the hellish tunnel towards the next death, and apparently that was hell itself. Sure wasn't that fun. I recall being decapitated once, crushed by a boulder once and being ran over by a train two or three times. Oh and there were a lot of jumps along the way down.
sounds like robot hell but horrible
I'm worried. Should I be worried?
You shouldn't. And if you stop worrying, maybe you'll stop having the bad dreams as well. (If you're still depressed and you're hinting for help, get your mind busy on happy thoughts. Depression isn't what this thread is about though.)

When I attempt WILD I feel as if I'm spinning/shaking back and forth in semi-circular motions, then it stops and never comes back. But when everything is numb it feels like my limbs aren't in their original positions anymore (I'm laying flat on my back with my arms inches away from my body and legs apart, but after they are numb my hands feel like they are on my stomach and my legs crossed). Am I doing something wrong? I try waiting a long time after the spinning to no avail, do I have too many thoughts going in my head? I haven't responded to any of the temptations my body give me either.

Last night I dreamed that I was following a linear path with tunnels made of plastic and brick with some friends and people I know. Then we got to a clearing with a house that looked like it was babbys first gold source map, right down to the shitty brush work and textures. We then played loud music for some reason while preparing for an attack. That's some deep shit. [editline]9th April 2012[/editline] Also some chef got killed in the toilet so I just pissed on the floor.
My last dream was about me in some weird mario kart universe where I was driving a bike in this huge loopy hilly landscape and later on i forget what kind of car through this valley that had a lot of obstacles like stone columns and shit, then transitioned into a more water-based valley with lilly pads and shit, i won by like a longshot as if the difficulty was on -5cc

Besides, spinning's only useful to extend a lucid dream. Still not sure why it works, I think it has something to do with engaging your brain and postponing a chemical dump that wakes you up. Regardless, ignore that. Also, you don't need to stay still. Treat it like you're falling asleep. If you get uncomfortable, move. And if you're new to it, which I'm guessing you are, don't try WILD at first. It's technically faster and better, but only once you get good and comfortable at it. I'd try MILD first. That way you don't have to worry about staying aware while you fall asleep, you can just...fall asleep.
don't you rate me disagree, rapist i know all the things [editline]9th April 2012[/editline]
I attempted WILD last night, I also done the trick where you envision yourself going up a flight of stairs until you reach level 100 and you should be lucid (Iirc, I got to 116 and I was still conscious). I felt numb under my knees, and arms elbow down, but my limbs felt like they were weights forcing me down. While attempting to do WILD, and at around level 65, I had a little itchy-tingly feeling on my nose, I was able to cope with it, but at 116 i just sneezed, and it kinda stopped the whole process :( Anyone got any other tips on WILD? And was it normal to feel like my limbs were super-heavy weights (I understand the numbness is kind of a good thing)
...level 65? Oh, the stair thing. I hate that method, personally. The fact that you started to feel numb is good, it means you're kind of succeeding. If I were you though I'd just MILD for now. WILD is tremendously hard to pull off without a lot of practice, and you'll probably get frustrated. I treat MILD as kind of a backup. Once you get comfortable with it and can use it consistently to become lucid, you can practice WILD. Then if you can't get WILD to work, you can just go to sleep and rely on MILD to work instead. That's my advice, anyway.
A while ago I had a dream where I was on a bus going wherever-the-fuck I was going at the time and I looked around the bus and some people had spiders in their eye sockets Although I don't know how I came to this conclusion, it turned out that the people with spiders for eyes were homosexual that's my dream^ hope you enjoyed
Well. That was a weird dream. I was a member of the X-Men during world war 2 and we went undercover into a nazi death camp to spring out some scientist jewy guy but then we fought hitler and he had super powers too and nazi death soldiers with laser eyes. Hitler's mustache was actually a cannon or something. It was weird.
I will post a short snippet of one of my dreams, not sure what to call it. It seemed like seconds, i appeared somewhere else. All of a sudden, my back starts to tense up, not just in the dream but in real life, like i was feeling the pain of someone doing something to my back. In the dream some big fat guy was smiling and i was yelling No No No No No No NOO and then i just woke up from the shock of my back. These happen maybe five times every 3 months. Edit: one time it happened in my elementry school computer lab when i was in grade four...
I've been remembering less dreams lately (loads of stress from robotics competitions and schools has just KILLED it), but last night I had a very interesting dream about traveling through the Seven Layers of Consciousness. Normally you're on layer 1, but I managed to work my way to layer 7, and the dream became more vivid after every layer. Layer 7 had life-like vividity (that should be a word), and was a dream world very similar to waking life. Everyone is there, doing things like normal life. The catch is that all interactions between people reflect (and if you get there and change anything, affect) their relations in the waking world. After a bit of a brief struggle over an attempted murder, I went and talked to a friend who now liked to make Sudoku puzzles.
Whey! just helped my friend get her first lucid dream in a long time, but i did lose, as it was a competition to see who got there first. :v:
Don't even bother with spinning.
I didn't induce the spinning sensation, it just... Happens.
Last night was wonderful. Dream overload. One was about some girl I know going crazy and killing people, and me stopping the murderer by kissing her at which point she somehow realized her deeds and dropped her knife. Another was about an alternate reality set in 2015 where my sister had died, which had completely changed the world. Most of the world had frozen, and I was the king of one of the two leading clans. The other clan had a female leader whom I apparently had known (in the dream, not reality) since childhood. Magic was strictly forbidden in this world. We moved around in big longboats which slided over the ice. My life goal was to bring my sister back to life and get the world back on its tracks (aka like it is nowadays), because a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland wasn't a good place to live. Me and the other clan's queen would love to spar with eachother. At one point we had an epic battle on a large icy lake which was observed by both clans in their longboats a kilometer or so away in the opposing directions. It was a friendly match, we both managed to beat eachother up about the same amount and then shook hands and returned to the longboats. My advisor told me that it's dangerous for a king, and that I shouldn't spar with her, and I told him to deal with it. A soldier asked me if I knew her from my past, and I showed him a picture with me holding her when she was a little kid, in our old home, and shed a tear for the "good old times" But the ban on magic was a problem, none of the witches I consulted would agree to send me back in time to save my sister. They would keep saying that it was forbidden. Until I met a witch who happened to be one of my old school's classmates, who agreed to it. During the night, we silently took over a longboat and strapped a yellow cloth to the front, and a red cloth to the back. We installed a big yellow drum on the ground further away, and then set both clothes on the ship on fire and she started muttering some magic and I drove the longboat straight into the drum. The drum broke and I went to the past. Probably woke up at this point There was another dream set into the same frozen world, where I was abducted by a bunch of bandits, and we crossed through a frozen area known for "steam whirlwinds" which were big tornadoes made out of steam. They apparently were responsible for many of the strange disappearances of fishermen and random people from our time. In the prison they threw me in I met a guy named Chafak who was supposedly a famous disappearance from years back. Another dream was about going down a rapid with a hovercraft, turned backkwards, together with who I think was David Hasselhoff.
Had a dream about the world being attacked by zombies, which were caused by small ethereal black spiders that would phase into people's bodies and cause the condition. They weren't traditional zombies, think more of the "fast zombie" type (during the dream I kept saying "ZOMBIES CAN'T RUN, STOP RUNNING") Eventually we beat the spiders and I boarded a subway to get back home (we have no subways in my town) and it was quite a ride. As per the usual dream style, the subway was going way too fast, scraping the walls and almost derailing.
I had a dream last night in which I was skiing around with the Blood Eagles with this music playing. Not gonna lie, it was cool but at the same time scary as all hell. It was kinda like those dreams I used to have as a kid where I would be launched into the air, but in this one it was like I was doing it intentionally. The dream ended when I grabbed the flag and got shot in the back. I honestly woke up with "Shazbot" on the tip of my tongue.
had a long dream but I can only remember a small part of it. A doctor was giving a woman a vagina exam and she said that it was uncomfortable and he replied "what do you expect, due to budget cuts I have to make these gloves last for 5 patients."
Had a dream about meeting a little elf/fairy the size of my hand, and he gave me the ability to see their world. So basically I saw spirits everywhere. One of them looked like an old Nokia phone. Most were happy and dancing all over the place, it was pretty awesome. Another dream about launching fireworks, and meeting the ghost of my grandmother's dead dog and it was awesome. It was happy about me visiting its grave and was running around at warp speed, and then I petted it.
It seems like every time that I get close to a dream with WILD I get the sensation of falling back and get taken out of the dream.
I had two memorable dreams last night. In one, I was at a robotics competition. My team had decided to pick some seats on top of a plastic fold-out table with 30-foot legs. It's great that I have a serious fear of heights. After slowly beginning to freak out more and more (and actually feeling the terrible feelings that I hate that I get when I'm up high) I somehow got down. Then announcer said "the Heroin seating is too dangerous, so you're going to have to take it down." From now on I'm calling any high place like that "Heroin Seating". I used to get dreams like this more when I was younger. Something interesting I noticed is that yesterday, I was feeling pretty crappy. I had this dream, where I was extremely uncomfortable, then I remedied it and felt fine. Now today, I'm feeling fine. Maybe the dream was my body telling me that it had fixed whatever was wrong. In my other dream, there was a dream-within-a-dream situation. Somehow I became partially awake, the kind where you are in a dream but you can feel your sheets and can move around a bit, but your still mostly in the dream. To make things more complicated, I became conscious at all three levels. I was aware and thinking in waking life, the first layer of the dream, and the second layer. It was seriously confusing. Anyways there was a guy in the second layer who I was trying to talk to, and I was trying to get to realize that he was in a dream. I kept yelling, "this is a lucid dream! Can't you see? It's a dream!" In possibly the strangest method of inducing a lucid dream that has ever been conceived, I tried to shift my focus away from my waking mind, into the first layer, while keeping aware. Then, my waking mind would go back to sleep, and in the first layer I would tell myself in the second layer that I was dreaming. I'm not really sure what happened next. This dream brought me back to the intriguing state of being aware, but not lucid. I'm unsure of how it works but it can be frustrating.
I try to lucid but whenever I do WILD I nearly get there, start hearing faint sounds, vision goes fuzzy etc... Then I just feel an impending sense of doom, like something really bad was about to happen and I always freak out and move. Also had a dream about getting a concussion (or what I expect it would feel like) in my school and wandering about, but nobody else was around except the teachers who were all celebrities for some reason. Vision was tilting side to side like I was really dizzy and my lips started tingling and then I forget the rest.
Sometimes, when I wake up, I am stuck somewhere between the real world and my dreams for a few hours. In my mind, I am doing completely normal stuff. To others, I am not. For example, when asked what time it was, I replied with "There are 12 tiny fish people dancing around. Merry Christmas." Or another time where someone asked where their socks were (I had hidden them under a chair in my half-dream state), I yelled out "THE GINGERBREAD IS IRRELEVANT. GO AWAY." I was saying all of these things with the same voice as Skeletor, apparently.
I had a dream once where i saw my friend sitting at the corner of my room, i woke up (not knowing i was dreaming when i saw him) walked down the hallway grabbed the nearest blunt object and walked back into my room looking for him. I hate it when stuff like that happens.
