I haven't had a dream in almost a month. I lay in my bed and I turn into a brick, help?
It's not that you don't dream, its that you don't recall your dream; OP has tips on improving recall.
I found out something quite strange. A few nights ago I had my music on shuffle as I went to sleep, when "Strawberry Fields Forever" by The Beatles came on, I felt a weird weightless sensation and began to lucid dream. I've done the same with the song on repeat and I've gotten the same effect nearly every time. This coming from someone who is terrible at inducing lucid dreams. I'm wondering if I'm the only person this works on though.
Just had a few dreams about someone giving blowjobs over the internet, something to do with proximity mines, an evil, possessed Minecraft and my stepdad being a total prick. I have a weird mind.
Had a dream where I flew over the clouds, and the view was absolutely incredible. It was so incredibly vivid and beautiful.

Those things tend to work really great for me in cars for some reason. Anyhoo, this song came on and I fell through the WILD into a light dream where I could still hear the music and feel slight movements of the car. In this dream, K gave me a tour of the giant dank-ass facility that is my mind. There is a giant hallway filled with notable artifacts from previous dreams. There is a portal 2/borealis style empty dyrdock down there, can only guess where the giant ass ghost cruise liner goes. There is the busy control room, looking much like NASA ground control, all the different parts of my mind running aroound with various stacks of paper and messing with screens. Everything on the screens and papers is either immensely blurry, or written in some odd language that kind of looks like euro symbols. There are a couple other various mechanical metaphors, such as "The Core", a giant blue spinning disk with blue lights, blue flame, and contacts on all sides. Whenever I wake up I see it light up and start spinning. Whenever I sleep I see it slow down and blink off. There is also the "emotion reactor", which is a different colored flame (depending on mood) suspended in what looks kind of like the original XBOX startup screen. I still go there occasionally, though K blurs out what I'm not meant to see, I'm cool with that.

Oh yeah and it's all underground on my dream planet (easiest explanation) and you get there by taking a mile deep, 100 foot wide circular elevator, lights and all, its a nice sight. [editline]15th April 2012[/editline] well damn, goodbye automerge
what did you see?
This kind of view, but unlike the image, everything was sharp and clear as day, and it was bright, vivid and enhanced like on an acid trip. The dark shadowy areas weren't really there in the dream, it was just a bubbly white mass of clouds everywhere below me, with the clear bright blue sky right above. It's hard to explain. Howdy, psychonauts. Starting a dream journal! I often have vivid, bizarre dreams and the last journal I had I gave up on (thing's too tiny and tattered)
Howdy, psychonauts. Starting a dream journal! I often have vivid, bizarre dreams and the last journal I had I gave up on (thing's too tiny and tattered)
The more appropriate term is oneironaut, but hello and welcome!
Had a dream this morning. It was about me being in the USA but not quite (I think I was an exchange student near the US border in Canada) but we did go shopping in the US. It was nice and warm outside. So my "mother" (for lack of a better word) loaded in the groceries, but I wanted sprinkles for on my bread "Because they reminded me like home." So she in what felt like an instant got some sprinkles, and Ontbijtkoek with sprinkles on top, making me think that she didn't know a lot about sprinkles. Anyway, we drove a little, "father" steering and "mother" beside him, and in a little while we stopped. "Father" and I started walking down a small, dirt path in a temperate/pine forest, and after a small amount of time had passed it became totally pitch black dark. I whipped out a flashlight from nowhere, and started lighting the path. "Father" was nowhere to be seen. So I started thinking about falling backwards for laughs, and checked if nothing pointy was there to impale me on. After a little while checking, I turned around and fell, and after doing a backflip between dimensions woke up in my own bed. I started looking at my pillow, and saw a couple of newspaper articles stuck on a cardboard sheet. One of them showed a colour photo of my sister smiling at the camera in a swimming pool, wearing a silly light blue bikini. After that sight, I noticed my eyelids were closed and opened them, then I woke up. Fun part is, I wasn't lucid that whole time, or at least I didn't feel that "rush".
I recently stopped playing video games in favor of studying for the upcoming AP exams/ SAT 2 (a difficult and painful decision, but a necessary one) and I've noticed something. I've been dreaming a whole lot more. Not only that, but I remember most of them (although that remembering is mostly trigger-based) and the dreams are a lot more vivid, realistic, and believable than they were before. I don't dream lucidly, although I would certainly like to, but this occurrence is too strange to ignore. What usually happens is I wake up around 7:45-8:00, roll over, fall back asleep and have a dream. I repeat this process for as long as 2 hours, undisturbed by whatever the previous dream might have been. I could go into more detail, but I'm more interested in knowing if the swearing off of video games could have affected my dream recall or if it's just a random occurrence. This has happened before, usually on vacation, but this is the first time it has happened at home. Thoughts?
Had a dream last night where my family was being held hostage in a house. When I saw the back door to the house open, I knew that was my only chance of escape. I ran outside the back door as quickly as I could and ran past the trees in the backyard and stepped into another houses backyard. I then ran down the treeline until I passed the house I was hostage in and ran on the street for help. That's all I can remember
Yeah I know, I suppose I should have phrased that better. It's just that I have been able to recall dreams quite often until about a month ago. I'll take a good hard look at the OP.
Have you had any change in your sleep schedule? I know my recall gets shot if I start going to bed later or sleep for too long. Speaking of that, I had an odd dream last night. It had me in some big, old, wooden farmhouse with monsters around that tried to attack me. It mainly had monsters that looked like they were from Deadspace, Headcrab zombies, including a poison zombie that flung light-blue headcrabs right at your face with pinpoint accuracy, and some re-animated demon pigs. I had only had a hand gun and half way through the dream I decided I didn't want to waste my time anymore so I just run past them. Like all my other dreams I wasn't scared from what I can remember.
So I had some dream where I was in a shopping mall, didn't look like any malls in my area, I thought it was strange. It was not lucid, so I thought everything was normal.
So the day just went as usual at the shopping mall I was in, people were hustling and carrying bags through the various stores. As for myself I browsed around in a bookstore, picked up a title by Stephen Hawking, sat down and flipped through the pages. Then, I heard screaming people out in the main area, and the screaming just seized about 20 or 30 seconds after it started. I took my phone out of my pocket and went to the mirror app. At first I just saw some dream colors, but they faded and I saw an actual reflection in my screen of my surroundings. The people in the main walking area between all the different stores and kiosks seemed to be frozen in terror, not even blinking, breathing, or moving around. Just standing there, all in one direction, looking at the same thing. I turned my mirror around, and on the dead end of the mall was a massive face that resembled a screaming Medusa's face, from the Greek myths, snake hair and all. She seemed to be chanting something along the lines of "To me you look, to stone you turn"(There might have been more, but that's what I remember). She continued to chant this for the duration of the dream. Then, out of nowhere the Voldemort character from the Harry Potter series stepped out from the supply closet behind the bookstore's counter. He said "Oh, a visitor?" and flicked out his wand, and started flinging hexes, curses, and spells at me from where he stood. I ran behind a bookshelf near me, and oddly enough there was an Invisibility Spell Tome from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim lying on the floor next to the bookshelf. I picked it up and tried to use it, but I suddenly had a message before my eyes saying "You do not have enough Magicka." Then, when this happened I could not move and Voldemort hit me with a curse that flung me back, all the way to the giant Medusa head. I hadn't realized this till I turned around, and I, too, became frozen. My dream breathing stopped, I could feel my limbs hardening in her demonic gaze. Voldemort then came out and hit me with some sort of killing curse, which hurt like a motherfucker. I woke up from the pain.
I am rather mad right now. Last night I was dreaming, and had just realized that I was. I started to ascend and break through the roof of my house when I was rudely shaken awake. I was so close.
Several dreams last night. #1) I was on the Titanic. I remember running up the stairs, getting on lifeboat number 15 and managing to escape. Once the rear started rising up from the water, some kind of music started playing, and my view turned into like a drawing. It then turned out that it was all a movie made in 1932. #2) I went into a factory, which was assaulted by horse-sized large flying metal bird-men. Me and some others tried to barricade ourselves in an office inside the factory, but it didn't work. I had to fight the bird-men and managed to destroy one, and then found out it was actually a suit with a man inside. I took control of the bird-suit and flew up in the sky dogfighting other bird-men. #3) Lucid dream. I woke up and spent the time looking out of my window, it was night. Straight forward in the sky. there was a bright star. High above that, there was another star. Looking to my left, there was an enormous castle visible in the distance. Truly enormous. Looking right, in the sky there was a giant bus just floating there. When I say giant and enormous, I mean they're so big that they're basically far off into space yet they take up a large amount of the sky when looked at from Earth. There were also a couple of shooting stars. My house started moving at warp speed, and eventually reached the edge of the world, below it was our galaxy. I started falling into the black hole in the center of the galaxy at insane speeds, everything warped and I heard an incredibly loud ripping sound while the world around me twisted and looked like I was going straight into a Stargate, except it was black. I woke up and the feeling kept in my stomach for quite a while, it was very powerful. #4) Nothing special. I was flying around my town.
Had a very cool video game dream that was a mix of stealth games, helicopter games, and golf
Wait wait wait, we've had a new thread for three months now, and I didn't know because I wasn't subscribed. God DAMNIT.
Endless locations to visit in a lucid dream. http://digital-art-gallery.com/picture/gallery/architecture
I can't really remember my dream last night, except that the main idea was me trying to play HLSS through Facepunch :v:
I started keeping a dream journal about a week ago, hopefully this helps dream recall.
Last night I had a dream this floating doll with glowing eyes attacked me while I was laying on the couch at night. I usually don't get dreams like this. I think it woke me up, and I can still remember it relatively clearly.
I have been trying that method where you count. 4 Times it was almost successful. After a while, it felt like I was floating and my breathing sort of changed, it was weird. Everything felt numb and I started seeing shapes. Tried concentrating on it, but it didn't work and I "woke" up.
i dreamed about german catboys it was... gey
i dreamed about german catboys it was... gey
... What possibly could've spurred you to dream about that?
... What possibly could've spurred you to dream about that?
my friend mentioned german catboys before i went to bed dammit insy
I'm about to go to sleep and attempt to achieve my dream goal of drinking magic potions that will improve my dream recall and ability to lucid dream.
Whenever I try to lucid dream, I get an erection and it ruins everything. Stupid dicks.
