The only time I ever had a lucid dream I was on a road in the middle of the woods, the only thing I managed to do was breath before i woke up.
I guess that's a good thing those seeing as brain + woods = horrifying monsters

Now this technique is worth the try, but stimulating a certain gland.
The recurring dreams that I've had end up being incredibly deep and mysterious... and I get very emotional to find out that they're only dreams.
When I was about 4, I had a dream that these people -- I referred to them as friends -- were captured by someone or something they were stuck in the TV (weird, I know). I tried to get them out but I woke up. I urged my mother to turn on the TV to get them out, and when there wasn't anything there I cried.
Oh, another dream that one could say had meaning to it: My middle school bus driver drove us to some sort of 'elegant' business district with very nice-looking buildings and bright lights. I had taken a liking to a World War 2 memorabilia shop (and, like almost every other dream I've ever had, I never have any money to buy things and I think everything's real so I won't steal things). However, a shopkeeper who was running her own independent stall caught my eye; she was an old Asian lady just selling cloth. When I approached her she said, "You are a very momentous person", and a few other things about how I was special and things like that... then she made me hold out my hands and gave me some kind of bug wrapped in a cloth and told me that I'd know what it's for when the time came.
Hey guys, just woke up after an amazing dream. I've got no dream journal so I'll just use this thread right now. I'm typing this on my phone so please excuse several mistakes I could make.
In my dream, there was this one big townsquare in a modern city, which was used by some medieval loving community. They dressed and lived like back in the day n' shit and this day, there was a festival. Think of it like one of those traditional chinese festivals with these paper dragons wandering around. I was there too and for some reason i looked like Christopher Lambert.
I watched the other people when I suddenly noticed two guys , they looked like two students from my class, standing in front of some strange, old looking door and one of them was picking it's lock. For some reason I knew there was something dangerous going on so I approached them.
Behind the door was a staircase going downwards, lit by tons of torches. At the bottom was a pit filled with human bones. The rwo guys ran away as there were voices of people approacging from below. They were from some cult or somerthing and when they saw me, all hell broke loose. There were ninjas and all kind of things attacking the festival. They were slaughtering everybody and because I was unarmed I tried to run away until I was cornered by two ninja chicks both wielding two daggers. That was when I probably had a real lucid experience in a dream. I remember thinking "hey this is a dream so why am I running away?" Then, the environment changed. It was raining and the three of us were standing on one of those red containers from Half Life 2 and I held 2 short metal poles in my hands. Then that lucid moment was over and I continued dreaming normaly. We fought for quite a while until I was stabbed in the neck. It was like in a cutscene as I saw myself, still looking like Christopher Lambert, slowly collapsing. Everything turned black and when I opened my eyes again I stared in the face of Severus Snape from Harry Potter. What the fuck? Then I woke up.
This night I dreamed about meeting a group of strange people my age in what looked like a bigger, more twisted version of the university I study in.
I can't remember neither their faces nor their names. Not important. The dream was about all of us exploring an abandoned part of the university, getting lost in it and finding the exit again. Then it turned into boring shit about me riding through town on a bicycle. I find it however interesting how in every single one of my dreams I live in the same city that looks like a bigger version of the old town near the city I actually live in, but with the same layout as my actual town. The layout itself never seems to change much, and I can find some recurring elements in the university itself, where most of my dreams take place in.
It's funny how, apart from the ridiculous proportions of the university (mostly because the little part of grass we have in real life between the two buildings I study in has turned in a giant park) and all the strange shit that happens in there, those dreams seem to really stick to reality. I used to dream a lot about incoherent, completely implausible environments and I was persuaded they were real, but the closer to reality the dream is, the closer to lucidity I am.
I strangely remember having this same dream a few years back, and I just had it again this morning.
I was sitting in the HL2 Buggy with a classmate next to me. Behind me is a colossal, erupting volcano that spews out burning meteors raining upon us, exploding as they make contact with the ground. It's pretty surreal since I can see other buggies next to me, filled with people I know, getting blown up and I hear their screams as the meteors hit their cars while mine just cruises peacefully forward, as if protected by a shield.
Extremely unnerving, since this morning's dream was almost exactly the same as the one I had a few years back, give or take a few minor details such as people's faces.
My mind and subconscious have recently undergone a little restructuring. Set a few things straight with K. Also, I'm gonna start getting more sleep, and I have a sick-ass alarm clock (set up a couple subs on my computer and tell it to blast music at 7:30)
My nightmares always scare the fuck out of me because they're extremely rare and usually come out of nowhere. It's like I fail a dice roll every couple months and shit gets all fucked up in my head.
Of course, they always seem pretty silly after I wake up, but still.
I had a nightmare about tornadoes. Not tornadoes coming down from the sky. Nah. These tornadoes formed on the ground, forming a huge maelstrom of clouds and then going up to the sky. I was hiking in a forest and a tornado started forming. It destroyed everything, leaving behind me and 3 other people. We then had to fight a zombie apocalypse.
I have no idea why the storyline twisted so much in the end, but I can't even really look at tornado videos anymore.
I had a dream that I was a sentient parasitic worm living in my own lobotomized body.
Trippy as shit.

I too once had a dream about tornadoes forming on the ground too. But in dreams, of course running is just extremely slow and so I just got into a car and was driving down the road and saw funnel clouds everywhere.

Oh hello. I also had a negative dream (not really a nightmare but not a fun one either) about three giant tornadoes hitting my town and me having to escape them.
I've had dreams about tornadoes before, they're quite scary, at least for me because I never seem to escape them and wake up just as it's about to hit me, heh.
I usually manage to take cover in a cellar or something while it goes over.

I know how that feels. I just woke up from a terrifying nightmare where this murderous witch lady who could control anyone was killing multiple people and I was always around, it was essentially invasion of the body snatchers since I never knew who I could trust. Wish I could remember more of how it started but I had multiple dreams afterwards. One where I was warning friends of what had happened while I knew the dream with her in it was a dream, but I was still dreaming. So in the dream I felt like a tool for thinking she existed and no one took me seriously. She didn't exist in that dream yet but of course it revolved around her existence so she eventually showed up and killed my friends and then we had a car chase.
At one point I knew it was a dream and I should confront it so it would stop but I was like no fuck that because everyone had blank stares and I had no idea what they'd do when I tried to confront them.
Last night i had a lucid dream, all i remember is the reality check i did other than that nothing........... can't wait for tonight.
Had a dream last night where I was part of a mario-kart style race. I was behind a fat kid, and we went up this hill with a rail on the side of it. He got out of his kart and so did I, and he pointed at the rail and announced "THIS IS THE WALL!" Then my mom ran up to me and yelled about something relating to me and paintball. I was thinking about shutting her up, but the dream promptly ended.
When i was younger, around the age of 7-12 (It happened between those years) i had this recurring dream wherei was running, running in my house from a ghost, however i was in slow motion, i was running down the upstairs corridor and to the stairs, and the ghost was going fast'ish, i would eventually get to the stairs and leap down them, again in slow motion whilst you ghost came towards me. he would eventually catch me half way.
I had this dream for years with no knowledge as to why, then it just dissapeared.
However, i am now 18 and this dream has come back, once every week but with an older version of me and the same ghostly person from before, just now older.
Nothing in my life has changed dramantically if atall, so why the dream coems back is beyond me.
I had a dream where a giant space station was built to be able to destroy anything. The first spaceship to carry passesgers was hijacked, so the second ship was built to stopit. The third ship was a prrototype and was hijacked as hell. I don't remember most of it, but It ended up that the hijackers boarded us on the second ship, fucked up the ship, launched all the pods, destroyed anything we could use to escape, and left us to die. Marooned on a dying ship with all our choices expended, I chose to use a cardboard box packed with an air tank, blankets and cheese to throw myself in the airlock and space myself, riding to earth in a last ditch attempt, space station 13 style. I launched and just as I started hitting earths atmosphere I woke up.
Note to self: Space is very cold and very dark. There is nothing spectacular about it. Its as if something ate all the stars and hides in the darkness.
Dunno why, but it seems that almost all of my dreams happen around my old home(I don't live there anymore) and I'm in the middle of zombie apocalypse and I can jump 5-6 meters with no failing damage and I run away from everyone (as I don't have weapon), but I never played any of L4D or games like that, and sometimes I'm in a post-apocalyptic version of this city, after a nuclear war.
I also have a dream of my accidents where I bleed, but I dream those a week/month/day before it happens, pretty weird.
Just had my first lucid dream ever. It was very short and lacking for stability, but still.
In the dream, when I was walking through playground, there was a girl, who ran near me and said "I want to stay inside".
Something clicked inside of me, and everything suddenly became sharp and very vivid. I tried to calm myself (Was excited so much), but it soon faded way.
Hope next time it'll be better and i won't lose control over it.
I had a lucid dream a few nights ago through sheer force of will/MILD, although I didn't go lucid till the end.
I was with some guy, and he said that on this planet, everything is like a dream. I jumped around a bit and started to have fun, when all of a sudden things got a bit dark and this giant flying "D" enveloped in in purple-ish smoky darkness came flying at us. He said it was a living nightmare, then it ate him. I figured out that hidden somewhere was a syringe, and if you injected yourself, you could escape to the next area. I did this for a while until it stopped following me.
At this point, I was lucid. No reality checks or sudden "oh my god I'm dreaming" moments. This seems to be how many of my lucids happen. For some reason, I decided that I wouldn't spin and rub my hands together. I had explicitly told myself to do this unconditionally before bed. I then proceed straight to my primary dream goal (a first!). I tried summoning the potions, but it when I reached behind my back and grabbed and brought my hand back, I wasn't holding anything. It's a pretty big disappointment because in my first real lucid I managed to summon a full propane tank.
Last night, I had a dream that I was a girl and some guy wanted me to suck his dick. I said no. Also, I lived in a well furnished garage with Bender.
???
You should have said yes.
what kind of girl do you think i am?
Oh wow, what a dream.
I was in a warehouse of some sort. It was a place where people were stored. They were hanged from their balls off the ceiling, for years, as "fuel" for all kinds of machines. I asked all those hanging guys how they cope with the pain of stretching testicles and boredom of hanging there for years. They said "we talk to eachother. It eases the boredom. And you get used to the agony"
So anyways, I found a time machine and went into it. I travelled to America in the 1940s, and suddenly it turned into a lucid dream. It was exactly like in the ye olde days, old music playing in the background, vintage cars driving everywhere and people were wearing vintage clothes. And very vivid thanks to lucidity. I'm surprised my brain could recreate that time period so extremely well.
I found a shop selling coca-cola, and went inside and bought some called "coca-cola Fizz" that had extra carbonation in it. The waitress poured it into a glass filled with ice and I drank it, it tasted delicious. Think I woke up then.

oh and another dream where I applied for a job at Valve and managed to get in :c
makes me sad because it'll never happen for real
I had this weird dream that was incredibly vivid, almost lucid. I think it was because I woke up then dozed off again for an hour or so. But in the dream I broke most of my guitars, threw some in the trash, and then threw some others through the windows of my house, in complete hysterics. The dream felt like it took forever even though it couldn't have been longer than an hour in real time. And I found out it's really hard to break a guitar in a dream because even if you swing it against a wall as hard as you can, it barely does anything.
It was incredibly weird and I've been bummed out ever since I woke up, it's almost like I can't shake it. It's kind of like that feeling you have while you're still trying to get yourself woken up and acclimated to your surroundings, except I haven't been able to feel completely 'awake' all day. I don't understand it.
I had another racing dream. It started out in a Saints Row 3 garage, where I could choose my car. When the first race started, the entire track was made of legos. I remember winning every race with a normal car. Then, I took a frog shaped car out of the garage. It stood on two legs, and it stuttered along at first. Then, I realized it leaped extremely far and high. I jumped all the way to the end of the track in a few jumps. I did this, winning two races, then I woke up.
I had a couple of weird as fuck dreams last night.
First, I dreamt that I was talking to a friend about Valve releasing a new Left 4 Dead game. And then suddenly I was at school at a really late hour for some reason. I was on my way home and it was really dark. In the middle of the street, I've heard noises of delinquents doing football cheers or something. And then suddenly hordes of teenage delinquent football hooligans started running towards me and I tried to run away.
On my 2nd dream, I was in my neighbourhood where I live. I was on my way to the grocery store, until a bunch of gorillas started hopping out of a van or something. One gorilla was facing my way, 20 meters away from me. It was looking at me. I tried to turn and go right and run, but that gorilla teleported lightning-fast to the direction I was going to. I was scared, but it looked kind of friendly. I opened my arms and it smiled and hugged me. Then it ran back.
And then, suddenly out of nowhere, a horde of hostile gorillas appeared which apparently are rivals of the other gorillas that jumped out of the van earlier. They started tearing buildings apart and threw chunks of concrete at eachother. These chunks of concrete later turned into some purple shapeshifting jelly monsters. These monsters started taking over the city and everyone was running away, as well as myself. A lot of people who were trying to run away were caught by purple slime tentacles coming out the walls and floors, but I managed to escape to the distant green woods along with other survivors. During that time, Israel (where I live) turned into a totalitarian country ruled by all-powerful purple slime monsters.
Facepunch, should I be worried if the card-carrying villain in my dream successfully deconstructs good-doers and heroes of any kind, and the more heroic/noble and selfless they are the harder the deconstruction hits them?
