There's nothing wrong with linking to his posts, but there needs to be some disclaimer noting that everyone is different - and furthermore, that these "beings" shouldn't be taken as more real than any imaginary friend, or dream character (that is, no-one has evil beings walking in their heads). As for the OP, I just don't like how it says "my antisubconscious", as though that's the way things are for everyone. Also, the phrase "ultimately screwed yourself" - this obviously isn't true, and I think it's just going to make people paranoid and scare them away.
I had the weirdest, yet most pleasant false awakening this morning. I woke up from a dream in which killing zombies had become a federal crime to discover a girl in my bed with me. She saw I was awake and just smiled at me. So I went back to sleep, and naturally when I woke up she wasn't there. That left me feeling very confused for the better part of the morning.
Yeah, a little unneeded, but we must not forget Jake's badass adventures in dreaming.
This made me realize that there aren't links to the first three threads aren't linked in the OP Also those adventures were quite badass

Im having some sleeping problems recently. I seem to be having the same dream of one of those screamer videos from youtube. halp
yes I finally was able to have a lucid dream that lasted for more than a few seconds! I stabilized it and walked around and did stuff for a few minutes this time
Had a dream last night that most of the world got set on fire. 4/5th of the world's population had to evacuate their homes, including ours. It was basically like the apocalypse. Smoke was everywhere. I left on an adventure in a spaceship, and it lasted for most of the dream. I came back to my city at the end of the dream, and it was incredibly eerie. A ghost city. The fires had already gone past the city, and the survivors had resumed living there, but most houses had no lights on, there were corpses littered around and the still raging faraway fires painted the smoke-filled sky a gloomy reddish/orange color. But man, imagine if most of your city's population suddenly ran away or died, and you came back to find your city abandoned like that. It was creepy as fuck.
I'm just going to go ahead and say that while the whole Anti-Subconscious thing may be unnecessarily scaring people, it's not a placebo. It's an actual thing. Jung hypothesized the existence of it in the early 1900s. And I discovered it accidentally without ever having heard of Jung's work, so that makes at least two people who can confirm the existence of this thing. :v: [editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
V1: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1073354 V2: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/998256 V3: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1073354 Here ye go, I had them all bookmarked. This was before the coding all went to hell, so it's going to look terrible now.
oh damn. Silly clipboard.
I don't have nightmares. Does that mean I don't have an anti-sub? Also, had a strange dream last night. I was trying to take a picture with my phone when a bunch of cats came out of nowhere. Then, a group of people came in and started shooting the cats. They all kept killing each other and respawning. I then tried to take another picture, but some guy shot my hand. So I bit his finger off. Then I woke up.
Tell me, facepunch, have you learned the language of stars? I have. It began on earth, on a clear night. I looked up, and floated to the heavens, and saw what appeared to be a cord of light. Light is energy, and energy can be knowledge. I took it in, and knew then that stars speak in a language far deeper then ours. Hues, shades, pulses and supernovae all tell long and complex tales we can't fully hear on account of our fragility. Stars don't die, oddly enough. They simply move to tell their story further out, moving their speaking ability far away. As I landed on earth and looked back up, the sky became a vast and deep web of wisdom and profound cosmic awesome. I woke up, and got a call from a company telling menu had gotten the job I applied for. Must have been a sign.

If guys feel it should be removed, and provided Orkel is willing to do it, go right ahead with clearing that off the OP. Birdman and Zin know what they're saying. No worries. I apologise to any one who has actually been affected by this.
Help. I can't stay in a lucid dream for more than 5-10 seconds. It's almost as my subconsciousness won't let me. Once during a dream at night, I suddently found myself laying face down in a garden, looking at the greenest grass. I could see thousands of grass pieces down to the smallest detail. I realised I was dreaming too, and suddently I flew up into the air. I flew, and it was so beautiful. Then I fell down again, and my dream ended. It was the most vidid dream that I have ever had. I didn't know that my mind could possess such vivid imagery. It came so suddently and randomly doing another dream. I don't understand it. Sadly I don't remember what my other dream was about. Now, this night I fell asleep into a dream where I was standing in front of a girl from my class. I knew that I was dreaming, so I grabbed her boobs (because why not), and I think I had an erection because they were so damn soft. But my dream faded out after like 5 seconds as always, no matter how hard I tried to stay in it. Another time, I fell asleep into a sleep paralysis, and I heard a buzzing sound and thought to myself "this is it!" But it wasn't and I snapped out of it. Also, I can't seem to force myself into vivid imagery. I can't produce vivid imagery unless I'm dreaming. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline] And I once had a dream (not lucid) where I was in my school, and I was laying on a desk for some reason. There was people around me, and a girl from my class repeately said something like "little <I don't remember this word>". She repeated it over and over again, and her voice became deeper and slower (as if you were putting it in slow motion). I got terribly scared, and I just wanted to escape my dream, and I crumbled together on the table, untill I woke up. Never have I felt so small and helpless in my whole life. It was so weird and scary. I that think my brain is fucked up and is hiding something from me. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline] And once when I had just fallen asleep, a disgusting voice was talking to me, talking gibberish. There was no imagery going on, just this voice talking to me. I was sleep paralyzed, and I was going batshit about it. It sounded like the voice at 2:44 in this song:
Please, can anyone tell me if this is normal? I'm starting to get worried about myself.
Please, can anyone tell me if this is normal? I'm starting to get worried about myself.
First line he mentioned is normal. It's not even the subconscious's doing, it's just how exciting it is to be lucid.
Holy hell. I just realized I've been a regular to this thread for a year and a half. It's been fun.
Yeah, I've had my dream journal going for a little over a year now, since I found the threads. It's nice to see the progress that I had so far; still need to get a lucid though.
I had a dream last night that was p much dedicated to vividity. It was an Indiana Jones -esque minecart ride, which rode through different vivid areas. It was the entire point of the ride, it was like a tech demo of the brain about how vivid and incredible views it's able to produce. Some of the scenes included the cart rolling through an underground temple ruin, with giant pillars on either sides, cracks and holes in the roof lit up the ruins and created rays of light all around the place, moss was growing on the rocks and it was just fucking amazing. And after that there was a scene where the cart railway went to a farmland area, the incredibly bright blazing green of the trees, grassy plains and the whiteness of the mountains beyond, those sights were truly some of the most vivid shit I've seen in dreams so far. It was like someone had amplified the brighness and warmth of every color in the world a hundredfold.
I always encounter this while trying to WILD/FILD: I have a clear mind, finally, now getting deeper, I feel the shaking. I feel close to a dream. Then I suddenly feel short of breath and breath deeper and faster as I'm entering paralysis, which sends me out of it very quickly. Any help? Or is it like the rollover signal?
I almost had a lucid dream in the morning while I was napping up for school. I realized I was in a dream, but then, I just...snapped out of it. Like, I woke up while I was in the dream. Didn't last for one second, either.
Any ways, if anyone's interested, I typing out my dream journals into dream views. Here's the link: http://www.dreamviews.com/members/deadvanitan/ I'm still a long way from finishing it just so you guys know. I already did an ideomotor with a yo-yo and posted about it before. I just want to confirm if it was my sub and not just my expected answer making it move. Besides, you can't really get a proper conversation with your sub like that as far as I know.
DERP I'M REPLYING TO A COMMENT ON A DEAD THREAD Anyways, just wanted to mention; yes, using that method, conversation is awkward. But possible. And with me, I found that over time, the voice I imagined up to say 'yes' or 'no' simply began saying it quicker, to the point that I would ask and receive the answer, and then there would be a physical reaction. Oh, it also got to a point where he would clarify if he felt that one-dimensional answers would be misleading. Oh, then to the point where he started talking, legitly. ...yeah, so anyways, we're cool now, sorta, but now I've got all these personality dealies screwing around with me; for the best, I'm sure, except one in particular... which interestingly, approached me via dream months before he actually made his presence known. Michael... an anti-sub, essentially. He was a massive dick to me, no matter how much he wants me to say that he's sorry for what he did. Anywho, yeah. He's changed his tune, I think... PS: I am not normal. This stuff doesn't just happen, it took, like, years, so... don't worry about Multiple Personality Disorder or whatever, it doesn't work like that. EDIT: Also, I may or may not be high right now, but I swear shit's still legit
I kind of forgot about finishing that journal. Besides that, I couldn't stop thinking about this one moment I've had in recent dream (maybe a week ago). I was at a vast empty plain, with nothing but the dirt on the ground. There was clouds in the sky so thick that it the earth was shrouded in darkness, like as though it was night time. There was this one tear in the clouds from which light seeped in from. The light from it was so intense that looking at the tear was like looking at the sun. The tear was so long that the light would form of wall ranging around 1km wide or so. The tear was moving so fast through the clouds, that it gave out thunder as it went. When it approached to my position, I noticed this darkness underneath the light, that spurring out of control, trying to keep the light from touching the ground. As soon as I got caught in the darkness, everything just went pitch black. After a second so in darkness, I heard a voice. I'm not 100% sure about what it said, but it went something like this, "You are not right/light(?) of heart" and then it said something else, but it seems I've totally forgotten that part. I'm not sure what else happened after that, whether I woke up, remained asleep, whatever. It just seems so empowering to me.
My internal monologue this morning: I'm in bed. RC time. 1, 2, 3, 4. 4! Four fingers! I'm dreaming! Wait forgot my thumb.
Dream last night that I was a maths teacher. I was teaching a class basic algebra, but every time I wrote something on the chalkboard it would change to something else after looking away for a little bit (classic dream sign) but I didn't think about it :(
I hate when that happens. That happened to me once, actually. I was doing homework, and each time I'd look down to check my calculations, the numbers would change. Not only did I not realize it was a dream, I would just mutter to myself "stupid numbers keep changing" and then adjust my calculations. :v:
I had a long-ass weird dream that was like a semi-video game. I seem to get that a lot.Like I think about how I've seen someone else play this scene or how I did it in my last play-through. It seems that my mind uses this video game thing as a way to justify all the weird stuff. Like a cat that turns into a yellow fly that I control. "Oh yeah that makes perfect sense. Pretty cool, I didn't know you could do that!" e.t.c.

Didn't even really notice
I always have dreams about Half-Life 1. And sometimes the tram tunnel from HL1 is mixed with real-life subway tunnels from my home city. I have a lot of dreams related to public transit too. Mostly me being somewhere I've never been and having to figure out which route to take home.
I had a really weird dream last night. I had set up a mobile hacking base inside my closet and we were trying to hack into like mall security to go rob all the stores and then someone betrayed me and blew up my closet and i died and the end.
Had a dream that my mother was the president. Was interesting. Also had a semi-lucid, but not conscious enough to remember any of my dream goals.
Had an awesome lucid dream last night. I was in the auditorium on an airplane. Out of nowhere, I said to myself, "I must be dreaming." I did a reality check and bam, fully lucid. Like usual, it started to destabilize almost instantly. I tried clapping, because spinning hasn't ever worked for me. Everything became even clearer than it already was, it was just astounding. The next part I remember was talking to someone, trying to summon something and failing. At least once I felt myself falling back out of lucidity and stopped it, which I think is actually really cool. What felt strange about that was that losing lucidity felt exactly like starting to pass out while awake. (The during the day, trying to stay awake in school after not getting enough sleep kind) One thing I'm disappointed about is that I completely forgot my goal of drinking various potions to help improve my dreaming :C [editline]12th February 2012[/editline] I think a side effect of having that lucid dream was that my other dreams later in the night were also super-clear.
