you must hold your breath for 3 hours
I'm not even dreaming anymore, how do I get to actually dream then get into a lucid one?
Quick question: see how you have to stay still when doing WILD? Does the movement caused by breathing impede progress?
I actually wanted to ask about that too, since I've managed to do that whole thing but I can never get my chest and stomach to go numb and fall asleep or whatever. How exactly do you do that?
So this is kinda an odd question. When I dream, and say I punch something/someone is that dream, I can't. Its like at the moment of impact, the punch loses all momentum, and I end up lightly taping what ever I was attacking. Any one else get this? It's starting to annoy me
Whenever I try to do WILD I get the numbing part, but then start to feel like someone is standing over me or something bad is going to happen, so I snap out of it.
Just got a lucid dream. Was walking close to school with friends and a janitor perhaps. In one of the buildings nearby there was payment terminal working by electricity, which fascinated us by no end for some reason. Then teachers spot us - apparently, it was school time. We flee, in a very unique way - laying on the ground, person on front dragging all of the other people. And I am suddenly on the motorbike, I look where its control should be, and see PC keyboard. Everything became vivid and sharp, I checked if it is a dream by looking at one of the keys. First time it was "Enter", then it changed to "/", I became happy, Tried to stabilize the dream, wanted to spin around, but it caused my vision to shake. Then BSOD of all things appeared and I waked up.
Just had a dream where some girl with big breasts was yelling at me for some stupid reason. I end up getting so fed up i grab her nipples. She shut up immediately. :v:
I usually reach a state of complete awareness about once or twice a month, but I mostly slip away after a while. That or I try to summon hot bitches for casual dream-sex and wake up from being fucked in the head. Anyway, I haven't had nightmares in years. If I have them, they are usually just non-frightening imagery with the most intense, pure fear I can imagine layed over it. Like. being sucked into a room with nothing inside and curling up into a ball in the dark from this primal terror of something figureless that fills every corner of my mind. Other times my nightmares can take on visual forms and are usually extremely disturbing on a personal level, like trying to figure out the most frightening things that trigger the most intense fear I could possibly experience. My nightmares mostly include family and loved ones that become distant, numb, robotic and eventually inhuman over time until I realize that they recognize me as a hostile environment and I become aware that I am practically a sheep among wolves. One dream included my family walking in a robotic manner one morning, like wind-up toys, trying to convince me that everything is normal when things were very clearly wrong. Then, I must usually play along or I am discovered although I already made myself suspicious to the point where I have to fake realizing that I am in a nightmare, otherwise the nightmare would reach it's climax. One particularly disturbing image I have stuck in my mind was a long, outstretched hallway, ancient hotel-style, with windows on the left and doors on the right. The scene was tinted in what seemed to alter between a blue and a brownish color and a little girl was standing before me, facing away. Then, she slowly turned her head towards me and when I should have seen her face, it stretched out and grew into a hideous crocodile-like maw, that was less visually present than the pure sensation of terror it induced. Another disturbing situation I found myself in, was me being the janitor in some school like building, that was abandonned for some reason. It was dark, windows boarded up and the twilight of a full moon shed dim light into the hallways. I wandered around aimlessly, searching for people or my purpose there, until I walked into the restroom where everyting was covered in charred limbs and body parts. I then proceeded to collect them into a garbage bag, filled with disgust. Also, some dreams are terrifyingly realistic scenarios of ma having to defend myself against people close to me that attack me for no known reason so that I have to harm them, even though I don't want to. I eventually have to use more and more drastic measures to fight them off until I kill them, even though it was never my intention. One time I had to slowly force a large splinter of wood into a friends neck to hold him down and keep him from attacking me, until blood from his ruptured jugular gushed from his mouth and neck until he slowly bled out. These intense and horrible nightmares only happen once every two years or so, but the experience is horrible and I often awake with physical (most likely imaginary) pain that I carry on from the dream for a few ten minutes.

God damn, another lucid dream for me. I think i noticed a pattern - I entered it through BIOS. I tried WBTD again, it worked. The feeling of entering it was incredible - i started trembling, and spinning, heard strange sounds, and appeared in my grandma's house. Came to mirror - horrible red in my eyes. It was a dream for certain. Then i tried to summon a girl, bur friends appeared, one by one. Didn't work out too well. But then most interesting thing happened. I thought - hey, why not to summon my subconscious, and it did appear - as a bubble in the air. We proceeded to the table, and i asked - show me something that I am not afraid of. And it threw me off this lucid dream. Well, I though dream ended here, but not really - I experienced a false awakening. Tablet on my bad was in wrong position, and bed was not right too. I noticed it and waked up. I guess it means that I am not afraid of Lucid Dream suddenly stopping, huh?
I managed to lucid dream about 13 days ago, but I can't get it to happen again.
So I managed to pull off a DILD almost two whole years ago now, I'm looking to get back in to attempting to LD. What would you guys recommend for someone who has terrible dream recall and ~5-7 hours of sleep per weekday? Also, all I can remember from my dream last night is that there were a lot of negative feelings. Anybody?
Just had a dream where I had to get surgery but I was fucking afraid to do it. Ugghghh.
I had 2 weird ass dreams last night. First one I was I was with a few friends, and one of them is notorious for doing stupid shit, so I'm with them and he gets an idea to break into this dudes house. For whatever reason we all say "okay sure whatever lets do it", and we go to the back of the house and there's this cement wall that could climb up, and then jump from that to the roof. So my friend goes first, and he does it super quick and he's already inside the house. Then I start to climb it, I have one foot on the cement and one foot on the roof when I see all of the lights turn on. I jump down and start saying "the lights turned on the lights turned on", and we sneak around the house to the front, and I hear people yelling inside. The house was all by itself on this big ass hill , and the rest of my friends started to run but for some reason, I decide to get on my hands and knees and start to crawl down the hill as fast as I can. I outran everyone else on my damn knees. My 2nd dream, I was going to work but some how I took the wrong bus or something and I ended up at this train station hanging on the side of a cliff, and I was like fuck this isn't where I'm supposed to be! And I end up completely freaking out like I'm going to get fired and my life is over. Then I remember calling my mom asking if she could drive me to work, and instead of her picking me up, a big ass limousine comes to get me, and I get in and it's full of swanky ass rich people. Then I continue to freak out, and then the last thing I remember is I get dropped off at this place, I walk inside and it's this long corridor but the walls look like they are made out of like flesh almost and we're moving around. It was full of weird goth shit and I met this lady who was wearing a masquerade mask, and she starts consoling me and shit, but then her face started morphing into weird shapes and the mask was starting to like float off her face. At this point I woke up. I briefly remember having another dream where I was walking up this long thin bridge that was going up, and there was white fluffy clouds all around me and the bridge had like pink crystals all over it, and at one point this thing fell down right in front of me and it was like this pink beam that went up and I had to follow it, and that's all I remembered. This shit was crazy to me because I haven't been able to remember my dreams in a while.
I want a lucid dream, but havn't even had a dream for I don't know how long. Anyway how can I actually get a dream to begin with?
I had a badass dream where I was flying a fighter jet in space, visiting all these alien planets.
I want a lucid dream, but havn't even had a dream for I don't know how long. Anyway how can I actually get a dream to begin with?
IIRC, you can't not have a dream, you probably just aren't remembering them at all.
I've read the first few pages of this thread and decided I should post my vivid dream I still remember from 2010. It starts off with the world being in panic, supposedly the rapture has come and the world is ending. I'm with my family and we're trying to go somewhere safe. We go to the top of the parking building that serves the movie theater I often go to. From the top of the parking building I can see an immense wall of energy across the interstate that has a Jupiter-like color scheme. On top of the parking building are a crowd of people I know (Most of whom are not detailed in my dream to be recognized beyond being known.). The crowd is happy and joyous, talking among themselves with smiles on their faces and hugging each other as if they hadn't seen one another in a long time. Noone in the crowd seems to notice me. In the crowd are several people I can put a name to: -My Youth Director from church, a woman who is always happy to see everyone. -PeeWee, an African American homeless man I met on my church's mission trip to aid the homeless, he made me feel like god really existed when he first talked to me. -My old best friend Jonathan, known for wearing plaid jackets almost everyday.* -My grandfather.* Both Jonathan and my grandfather are wearing white and standing together, happy to see the crowd. I realized in the dream that it was impossible for these two to be here, being that they both actually died earlier in 2010. Then for the first time in my dream, I was viewing the dream in first person. Someone indicated that the time had come to get ready, and the crowd sat down cross-legged facing the wall of energy. We waited for just a moment before my perspective shook and the energy wall came closing and closer to me, as it got closer this song began playing : As the wall moved forward my focus was drawn toward the swirling center until it was all I saw. Then I realized I was no longer on the parking building but instead on a floating platform with the energy wall instead in interior of a sphere that encased the platform. The platform lead to a door, but the platform split off in two directions one down a staircase leading to another door, and one leading up a staircase to yet another door. I wasn't in first person perspective but I chose the staircase leading up. Then my dream faded to black except for white letters: "S3E7". Haven't had this vivid of a dream before or after this dream.

Anyways, just get some vitamin B and journal from there. That's pretty much it. That low amount of sleep is going to cut down on dream time and thusly opportunities, but it probably won't matter all too much to be honest. The actual lucid dreaming thing is up to you. I personally go with DILD mostly because it's simplest, but you might consider WILD or FILD. Just remember not to give up.
I want a lucid dream, but havn't even had a dream for I don't know how long. You can also use tablets, but you probably shouldn't until it's your last choice.
Just had a dream where I had to get surgery but I was fucking afraid to do it. Ugghghh.
One time I had a dream about having a personal concierge surgeon that followed me around wherever. He was pretty hardcore - no anesthesia, no nothing, just a rusty straight razor and a complete disregard for my pain. I was working behind a desk in some old-timey wooden building when he decided that he should cut open my wrist vertically. He reached inside the incision and pulled out a sort of inner-arm, completely identical to the outside one, except for one thing. In place of my hand was a massive, three inch wide, throbbing phallus. Quite an interesting dream.
I've been trying DILD, but it's been difficult in training myself to do reality checks every so often. Are there any sort of tricks to help my subconscious check more often?
You don't become a faster runner just by pointing your hands, right? There are a few things you can do I'm sure but they really won't help all that much. The most important thing to remember is to keep practicing. After a while it will come naturally to you. Even still it might take a while before you use an RC in a dream, but I can tell you that the waiting is all going to lead up to an LD.
Last week, I had some weird dream about time travel or some crap with a group of people. I got lost and was left behind at the end. A few days ago, I think I got a lucid. I realized I was having a dream, but at the second of the realization, I somehow flew up into the sky and smashed my face into the ground. I woke up.

So what happens when you ask what your greatest fear is?
So what happens when you ask what your greatest fear is?
Your sub leaves you a special present for when you wake up
Tried to do dream recall last night. I had three dreams, woke up and remembered all of them. Then I realized I hadn't actually remembered them, it was a false awakening where I dreamt I remembered them.

Try to get it even more regular, if you can. Go to bed before 1, get up before 10. It'll make you feel better, both mentally and physically. Just work on your recall. Keep a dream journal, etc. You know the steps. Eat healthy, work out, etc. If it contributes to a healthy mind, it contributes to LDs. [editline]21st June 2012[/editline] just eat a banana bro no need for supplements, there's vitamin B in like. everything. supplements are for people with a severe difficiency, which I doubt you have. just eat right.

Because of studying, I don't have much time for health. Also because of studying, I get the feeling that this post may be used as a source on a history exam which retrospectively shows that studying was unhealthy. Or something. Fuck, I'm tired, I don't know :v: I rarely get the motivation or time to work out, I manage to eat an almost-average amount of food, I'm fucked. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] Other than bananas, what else can I do to heighten chances of an LD? I remember when I had my only LD I had taken some B6 supplements and a few unrelated supplements to do with a cold. [editline]23rd June 2012[/editline] Say I've been awake all day and decide to go to bed because I'm tired, can I perform a WILD on my very first attempt at sleep, or do I need to get a few hours, wake up and then attempt? I've never been clear on this.
I think I recall that last night's dream involved going to an airport, allegations of me being responsible for causing some Eastern European person to commit suicide (something to do with an online post), and, I shit you not, mentions of an Israeli psyker. The lattermost I understand why it was mentioned; I was browsing a WH40K wiki and one of the articles was about psykers, whilst the Israeli part originated from the nationality of a certain character from my PulpCraft "pseudomythos", who is in fact a transgendered Israeli necromancer with psychic abilities aligned with the "Wraith" class, derived from the archetypes of the planeswalking Travelller and the stealthy Hunter. Other than that, I seriously just don't even.
