I want to lucid dream, but I have pretty bad memory, I suppose, and can't really remember any of my dreams. I suppose I'll just start doing reality checks randomly and chanting "I will remember my dream" as I go to sleep. Do any of you guys have any tips for training yourself to remember dreams? Of course, I could do a dream journal, if that helps one remember their dreams.
I want to lucid dream, but I have pretty bad memory, I suppose, and can't really remember any of my dreams.
I'm just about to go to bed and try to WILD tonight, (i've set my alarm for 7am as it is almost 2am right now and i'm super tired) But more to the point, since last night i've had 2 banana sandwiches and drank a litre or so of banana smoothie (Which i have just read, could be harmfull because of the potassium in bananas) and to be honest, it helped me remember my dream a lot more vividly than what i did on thursday, so you could try that. And writing in a dream journal can significantly improve your brains power to want to remember the dreams. Just remember, that once you realize that you're awake, just try and focus on the dream that you've just had, try and capture all that you saw, and then with all that information stored, just write it all down. I tend to have dreams that last for about 5 - 8 hours if it's not a schoolnight or if it's the weekend and i've got nothing planned for the day tommorow and i sometimes can't remember everything that i saw, so i just pick out keywords from my dream, write them down on a notepad next to my journal, and then somehow, when i look at the keywords my dream starts to piece it's self together and then i write down everything in my journal.
Semi-Serious question here, would someone who has an OCD for reality checking be able to go lucid in a dream quicker than anyone else? Assuming that they know all about lucid dreaming and that they actually want to go lucid ofcourse.
wow i had a crazy series of dreams i was having this weird dream about this lady who was mean but sorta cool at the same time and then i was walking home and i started to think, "wait a minute, I'm not actually walking home right now, I'm dreaming!" but for some reason my reality checks failed, but i still sorta suspected i was dreaming i had a false awakening and tried to tell my mom about this dream (which doesn't make sense since she's in finland) and i tried to find this thread to post in here, but I literally couldn't find it, no matter what i searched! there were also some other cool parts of the dream [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] ok im not near my dream journal so ill write down a few details here started off with dinner at my grandma's house, but my cousins dog ended up biting me. we went swimming in some place with my cousin as well then i was walking up a hill and i saw this lady walking her dog and i threw a water-gun at her, she caught it and threw it back and i started sliding down the hill. i apologized but she sent her dog at me to attack me, but it was just funny because it was a little shitzu. then we started talking and she was sorta mean but in a very funny and interesting way. then she was trying to drive and there was stuff blocking her way so i moved it. i realized i was dreaming so i decided to enter my neighbors house so i could at least have human contact (whenever i become lucid it seems everyone else disappears), but then i "woke up" i started to tell my mom about it, and tried to find this thread, but it was all in the dream too [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] oh also there was this high powered magnet that got stuck to my computer screen and then a power outlet
What's the best sleep/dream app for android?
No idea I only have an iPhone. Last I heard they were porting sleepCycle to it, not sure though
a few weeks ago i had a fever so i slept a lot. and dreamt a lot. I dreamt about actual fear. it felt like being underwater with the pressure pushing from all sides, there was this extremely loud rumbling noise that didn't actually make a sound. it was as if someone had only cranked up the bass to the highest. I could also feel how large this fear was, i mean it wasn't a physical thing, it had no form or appearance what so ever and yet i could feel how mindbogglingly huge it was. Imagine having the moon resting on your shoulders, pressing on you from every side and emiting this panic inducing rumble noise. I also think in my dream i could hear my heart beat as if it wanted to get out from my chest! I can't really say that i have a fear for water, the moon or bass chords. i simply believe that what i dreamt about was the pure, unfiltered feeling of fear amplified a couple of times by my fever. That was a very unpleasant dream. The same night (i woke up a couple of times) i had another nightmare about this never ending mathematical puzzle. lines upon lines of numbers and symbols written on a huge chalkboard. simply looking at this fuckfest made my heart race once again (i have always had a hard time with math so it makes sense that i have nightmares about it) but i also knew from the begining what i was supposed to do with it. i needed to decipher it and solve every little bit and then use the results to construct some kind of machine (no idea what kind of machine) and i needed to do it BEFORE the coming day, so in a couple of hours. it had to be done. when i woke up from this dream i found myself frantically waddling back and forth in front of the tv with my hands clutching eachother. i was in a lot of worrying in that dream it seemed.
I keep thinking about how hilarious it would be to become lucid during a nightmare and just blow the fuck out of the monster with an assault rifle.
ive never really had a nightmare since i was like 7 and even those weren't so scary, I'd wake up from them and laugh at them ive had dreams with a sort of ominous feel to them, but nothing really happened to make them nightmares
I had a lot of dreams last night but I barely remember most of them. I should really use my dream journal again.
you guys could help me with this dream i had as a kid, its the only one i remember perfectly dont laugh please it was about me being standing in the street out of my house, everybody was having tea in a huge ass table that was as large as the street, but i was kind of far, where there were some plum trees, and in the ground there was this single plum, so i asked it where its mother was. After that it freaked out and started screaming "mother..? MOOOTHER" and then and the end of the other part of the street, a blue bright light began to run directly to me, and when it was in front of me (it took it like 2, 3 second to reach me) i could see it was a fucking horrible monster that went across my body(i assumed it was its mother). Instantly after it touched me i woke up screaming like a fucking looney. I still dont know if it actually means anything.
I still dont know if it actually means anything.
Probably not.
Unless you recognise the meaning of a dream instantly and without a trace of doubt, it probably has no meaning. Just the nonsensical ramblings of the subconcious.
I had a dream that an old lady ran away with my bike
Unless you recognise the meaning of a dream instantly and without a trace of doubt, it probably has no meaning. Just the nonsensical ramblings of the subconcious.
That's actually false more often than not. Even if there's no DIRECT meaning, dreams can still reveal things like emotional states and such. You always dream for a reason.
Last night's dream was about a house-sized fat naked elf, who had a jet engine embedded in his ass and he was going around my town burning houses with his ass-jet.

On a much lighter note than those two terrible nightmares i had. a year or two ago i had this dream that i was gonna perform in some kind of play in a theatre and my costume was supposed to be a yellow rubber chicken suit. the problem was that we couldn't find a yellow one. there was only this black rubber chicken suit (bdsm anyone?) well i had the brilliant idea that we should take this black suit and fucking paint that shit yellow! So out of thin air pops a paint can and brush and i start colouring. but it's not until i'm pretty much halfway done that i realize that i didn't paint it yellow. i painted it blue. so what do i do? I bring out another can of ACTUAL yellow paint and start over again. The problem now however was that, as you all should know, if you mix blue and yellow you get green. The dream ended with me standing on stage in a green rubber chicken suit doing a play about fuck if i know!
Hello, I've never really been attracted to this thread because I absolutely never dream. With the exception of a few nightmares, I've only dreamed once or twice. Last night though, I had a really werid dream. I was a Canadian Goose, and I was in a Persian Market. There were all sorts of birds hanging out with me, but the only one that spoke was this Canadian goose who wore a hat, also, it had a really feminine voice. Dunno why I was a bird, or why I was there, but then there was a giant guy who tries to like run us over. Then it sort of fades out, but after a bit I'm in a pond, and the female goose is there with the pigeon. and they say some shit like "we gotta get across" so I try swimming but there's a current. blue arrows are the current also when I swam there, i'd get into this sewer type thing then it fades out again, and i'm in a floatie type thing (I'm still a Canadian Goose), and the bird girl is saying "Made it" and then I get to the spot in my detailed map. Then I wake up. I loved that so much, I need to know how to dream more often, because I hadn't had a dream since I was 8. Any suggestions?
Standard "You dream every night but just don't remember it" response
My dreams have been really dismal as of late - I always wake up in my room with no lights on, no way to illuminate things at all, and my dream self feels lethargic and encumbered. When I reality check and find that I'm dreaming, that horrid, syrupy feeling only gets worse. I even fell off my dream bed and into the floor, and it was like entering water. Ugh. When I woke up from that experience, I had mild sleep paralysis. Nothing scary, though, just the harsh light my computer gave off that I saw. I got movement back after wiggling my face muscles (smiling, because I wasn't face-fucked by a hallucination ghoul or whatever), got up, and turned the lights on.
I just had a really long dream where I was running trying to hide from my parents and police in a surreal version of my neighborhood
I barely remember my dreams in the morning, but later on in the day I completely forget them. How do I remember them? Also, is it normal to die in every dream of mine?
I had a dream that I was inside of spacestation 13 last night, and it was in 3D At one point I was on a derelict or something without internals, and there was a group of military type guys with internals getting on a shuttle. I knew that the shuttle was my only hope for escape, so I got on. For some reason, they vented the air on the shuttle when it was traveling. Super brain logic time; barely covering the vent made the air stay. Later it got less realistic and involved smacking Commissioner Gordon against a wall to turn him into an alien
Had two fun dreams last night. First one was about visiting Macchu Picchu with my family. After exploring the area a bit, we booked a hotel. At the hotel room, I looked out of the window and for some reason saw the sea. Police cars were sailing on it like boats. And more police cars were flying in the sky like helicopters. Then woke up. The second one was about a survival game set in a massive underground cave system. There were dozens of us, and it was very hunger games-like. I found a civilization of cat-headed giant (1 metre) spiders underground who wanted to take over Earth. They even had a control room and mission planning room and so on, very modern style and bright white walls.
I had a dream about two nights ago. Right now, my ear is clogged up, so you can imagine my reaction when I saw the news article about the woman with a spider in her ear. The dream was about 2 nights ago. I was sleeping, and I don't know what the hell happened, but a giant fly just flew out of my ear, with all the tiny ones crawling out. Lets just say, I really want my ear to be back to normal soon.
Double Dream Night! #1 I'm attending some kind of a music festival. I meet a chilled out bald guy. I ask him which beer brand he likes best. He tells me a brand I've never heard of and which doesn't even exist in the real life. I then leave through the door and down the staircase.. #2 I'm in a bar now. I'm sitting at a table with two average looking girls. (nobody I know in the real life) One has black hair, the other one is dark brown. Apparently I'm flirting with them. (potential threesome?!) Things are going pretty well. The one with brown hair seems to be more impressed so I build up the pressure. And I'm doing it right. I don't really know what I was saying.. anyway she nods in approval and adds: "Ok, but wash your hair."
I had my first sleep paralysis last night. I came out of it around 4AM. It looked like I was laying on my couch in my basement, and there were tiny people wearing scrubs walking around. I was vibrating and hyperventilating and couldn't move, and it felt like something was crushing me. When I got out of it, I was starting at the wall in my room. Was terrifying for some reason haha.
Crazy hour-and-a-half long lucid dream. I didn't really do anything productive, but I still think it was pretty cool. Half-way through when I started to question whether or not it was a dream, I tried to rationalize it with someone. Surprisingly, he agreed with me. For all he knew, it could've been a dream. And that helped me regain lucidity. Pretty cool stuff, it's nice to get that feeling back after a while. I can't remember last time I logged a dream, but that was just the sort of inspiration I needed to get back into it.
Had a dream that the girl I've basically been in love with was holding hands and making out with one of my friends. That was fairly awful.
