How often do you guys remember your dreams?
I can never seem to remember mine.
Go to sleep thinking about how awesome your dreams are going to be. If you remember one from that, write it down and think about it a lot. I usually think about what would have made it cooler. If it's on your mind you'll remember it. Another good exercise for me is to read over both this thread and my dream journal before going to sleep.
So like, a couple days ago, I had a dream.
Remember how those Jews got burned in that big oven during the Holocaust, right?
I had a dream where Bill Nye was burning Jews by the dozens, and used their ashes to make some sort of oil.
What the Christ.

Thanks for the info. I'll certainly have to try thinking of them before sleeping.
Come to think of it, the only time I could remember my dreams days in a row was when I was taking a high school psychology class.
One of the projects was a dream journal, which we had to record in each night.
I usually try to think a lot about ones that I can remember, but that hasn't worked much.

It always helps me to read about other peoples' dreams too [sp]but by god NEVER READ THEIR NIGHTMARES[/sp] for what that's worth. You might also try making up a story with yourself as protagonist and I can almost guarantee you'll dream about it. It worked for me and I'm actually gonna write it down some time.
Had a "plot dream" about an old farmhouse. It was supposedly haunted by some 1600s soldier so I went in there to find him, calling his name. Then I saw the ghost appear from a wall, got creeped out but still talked to him, wanted to know more. The ghost, who looked like a musketeer, wasn't aware of his death. So I told him he's dead, and he realized everything, explained to me how he died (bullet through the leg) and we brofisted and the dream ended as we walked into the sunset.
You always have the most awesome dreams Orkel. The best one I had recently was another dream about Skyrim.
Had a dream about being at my grandmother's yard and there were two huge trucks that appeared out of nowhere and tried to run me over. Got out of the way just in time, as commonly happens in these kind of dreams. Found a German WW2 fighter and jumped into it and flew around. Can't remember much else, had to hurry up to work so had no time to really imprint the dreams into my memory.
Well, I went through sleep paralysis (that's the term, I hope) for the first time in about 10 years. Probably the most intense 10 seconds I've experienced in years; thankfully I was able to end it by forcing myself back to sleep after about 20 seconds or so.
[sp]Accidentally went lucid, caused myself to wake up. I had partial muscle control, so I decided to turn onto my side. Suddenly, this banshee thing materialized out of nowhere, creeping in through my slightly open door. I blinked, and it kinda hopped closer, like one of those things that move when you don't look at it. Every time I blinked, it came closer. After blinking about 3 times, it was about 3 feet away from me. Then it decided that it wasn't going to play around anymore, so it just kind of flash stepped into my face and screamed in this high pitched shrill for about 3 seconds straight. [/sp]
I don't want to go back to sleep. =(
Okay so this dream happened a few days ago.
I was washing my hands in my bathroom and my reflection was in the mirror. I looked at my reflection and then proceeded to leave the bathroom. Then I realized some thing was wrong. I went back to look at the mirror. The reflection of myself didn't match up to the movement of my body. I would move around and there would be a delay on the other side. Eventually my reflection didn't move at all and continued to stare at me.
I left the bathroom and walked around the house. My reflection would always be given off my some thing in the house. And each time my mirror image would just be standing there staring at me. It would even wait at other mirrors, just standing there like it was waiting for me.
I don't really know what I was doing, I just walking around my house aimlessly. Eventually I came to a door that was never there before in my house( what I still find weird is how I spotted that out even in my own dream). I opened the door. Inside was an empty room with carpeting. There were no windows, no furniture and no other doors. When I walked inside, I looked behind me, only to see that the only door was gone.
I took a few steps around the big empty room, only to fall through the seemingly solid ground and plummet into an identical room face down. Freaking out a little now, I run to one to one of the walls in the room for support. That's when I figure out that I could go through the walls. And what did I find on the other side? Another empty room.
I started to wander through the endless labyrinth, some times going through walls, some times having one of the walls speed towards me or have the ceiling come down on me. Just to lead me to the same room, but some times with a twist.
I would find rooms filled with people frozen in time or rooms full of furniture, or rooms that looked like some one else's house. Some times it would just be the outdoors or major events even. However I would always have to go through the one room that was like a closed box between these.
The people who were frozen in time always had one look; happiness. They were always smiling or in the middle of laughing. Some people didn't, but just had this vibrant feeling to them. I would be lead to people having picnics, through a ball rooms, movie theaters, or major competitions and concerts filled with thousands of people. .
Eventually after being lead through so many rooms, I finally came down to a room filled with nothing else but a counter and a mirror. I went up to the mirror and yet again, I stared down my reflection. That's when it started to speak.
"Guess what?" it said with a smirk on my face. "This isn't real, it's all a dream." I was shocked. Did some thing in my dream really just tell me I was dreaming!? After that, it got angry. It's face changed into pure frustration and anger. It started yelling at me, insulting me and even scolding me. My reflection slowly started to turn into a pale old woman with red eyes, wearing a hood around her head. The more she yelled, the more the glass began to crack, and the more distorted her face became.
I cannot remember most of anything that she said in the dream. However I do remember one thing she said. "You have everything you could ever want, you just need to grasp it!" Then continues onto how I was too stupid too even realize this, me and everybody else like me. The mirror cracked even more, and eventually shattered.
The moment the mirror broke, I woke up. It was probably the most vivid dream I ever had.
I dreamt it was winter time and I was near a big evergreen tree in our yard. For some reason all the needles had fallen off and it was just bare branches. That's when I noticed a large bird's nest on one of the branches. I don't know how but it ended up in my hands and the bottom was damaged so I started repairing it. When I was done I saw that there was something in it. At first I couldn't tell what I was looking at, then I realized there were like 5 baby squirrels, all of them completely frozen from the cold. had a dream that a bomber squadron was bombing my town with pink rabbits (with sunglasses) and they were called tribbles
my pen had no ink so had to read the dream notes with help of a light, wrote on the paper but nothing came out
the light helped me read the slight depressions using their shadows
dream notes read "tribbles, sausage, diamonds"
can only remember the tribbles part
i had a dream where i found out my cousin wasn't born until a few days after 9/11 and i thought it was true for most of today until i realized she's like 17 so thats bullshit
Earlier today, I fell asleep in school. I had a dream that spider man made a video of himself beating someone up, then posted it on youtube to scare criminals.
I had a dream that you could wear three backpacks in SS13, it was glorious
I had a weird dream that doesn't make sense to any reality!
It was that i browsed LMAO pics and someone got banned for image macro and meme reply :pwn:
Last night was amazing. Woke up every ~2 hours, from a brand new, extremely vivid and long plot dreams. Slept for 12 hours because of hangover. But holy shit the dreams, man. And they were mostly realtime, meaning I would actually spend the time doing the stuff in the dreams without much "time skips"
The earliest that I remember, was like this. I was in an alternate fantasy world, where a large portion of the world was controlled by pirates (flying both airships/fighter planes and sailing normal ships) who would rob and screw over people they found. I was living next to the sea in a large, tall egg-shaped wooden treehouse together with two others, one of which was a woman called Taina who also was the leader of our little resistance group. I even had my little room that I spent time in. Decorated it and everything.
After some peaceful times (it really felt long, realtime), the pirates found us, and we ran from our treehouse. I saw a fighter plane blow it up into smithereens, the little kid (third member of our group) was really sad about it, as was I. We ran into a nearby forest, with the pirates chasing us behind our asses.
We ran into a huge pirate outpost, like a castle. We had no other way other than try to sneak by, but they spotted us and we got caught. We got sent down into the castle/outpost's dungeons for 4 years, where we were tortured (thankfully this part wasn't realtime or anything, hah) and slowly became insane.
But at the end, I broke free. I climbed up the walls, using little ledges to grab and climb. During my journey upwards, I encountered stuff like photos, letters and such from my friends, parents and relatives, addressed to me, stuff like a letter that said "Are you still with me? (which was from my grandmother)" and just basically stuff that they'd say if I were to suddenly disappear for several years. It was pretty emotional. As I reached the exit, I woke up.
Second dream that I remember, was about being shut in a small wooden cabin in the middle of a forest, together with ~20 other people. The cabin would periodically get attacked by a bunch of monsters, which we fought back every time. Eventually we got outside and started jumping through "gates" of some sort, in front of a playground. The gates were like dimension gates, they would throw us into another little pocket dimension, this was the only way to escape the monsters. Then the monsters would just appear again and you'd be forced to jump through another "teleporting gate", for all eternity this would repeat. The "gates" area and the playground were surrounded by walls of blackness, as if this was the only area left in the universe.
The darkness started crushing our "pocket dimension", and all of us just got squished into an infinitely small point by the pure blackness surrounding us. But this wasn't a nightmare, it was just.. unpleasant.
I did something magical that I can't remember, and all of us suddenly got spewed out of the "singularity" into a pile of people, it was pretty funny. Think I woke up after this.
Third dream. While walking at town, I noticed a plane being chased by another. It shot the plane down, and this somehow made me realize that me and everyone else were being held in an enormous tower with multiple levels. We had to race upwards in planes and cars, while blowing up our competition with bombs found along the way, which is what the plane that I saw, did.
I also did ninja shit. One of the levels was a very old-fashioned town, and I jumped on the roofs throwing bombs at others and so on.
I remember that the very top level was populated by 4-5 "gods", one of which I became after reaching the top. We were the good guys, a lot like superheroes, each had our own color. Although I do remember for some reason raping a duck with a giant carrot near the end. Truly what a god would do.
There were some others, but I forgot them. Had to go to job and had no time to write them down. Probably lost some detail from these aswell, quite a lot of it. The pirate dream and giant tower dream in particular.
i had this dream where me and 2 other people were in a forest and then one of the guys broke my PlayStation then we went into a house that was on fire, i had grabbed a shovel then saw that there was a box of pizza out so i took a slice and ran away. then i woke up seriously what the fuck.
I had this really weird dream about shaving off my eyebrows. After I woke up my eyebrows itched like hell.
I remember one dream that I guess was related to some crazy alternate Silent Hill; in which there was this "Princess of Water", and a "Prince of Fire" who had a space helmet that looked kind of like Pyramid Head; from what I gathered they fell in love and had a child. I assume in the dream narrative that said child became a "child of Steam/Fog", and is the reason that alternate Silent Hill was so foggy.
I don't even know.
I had another dream last night, but alas it faded, but not before it gave me an idea for a fictional fantasy "nut", the Massive Wheatnut, essentially a huge nut the size of a surfboard that could be ground up into a fine nutty flour.
Oh god, I think I remember a bit more of it, and it wasn't good at all. I feel a familiar terrifying presence in that dream that haunts me even in waking hours; there were ponies in my dream. I'm scared; I don't want these abominations to be present in my dreams, I want them to be kept in the back of my mind in the Recycle Bin, or better still gone from my memory...
Another wacky dream:
I am in a foggy city, walking along the street. A old Volkswagen-like van approaches and this Uboa like thingy is driving it. Suddenly i got angry for some reason, and carjacked the van like a boss. The abomination grabbed a freaking shovel and started to chase me all across the city. Feels like GTA
I met the That 70s Show cast in my school cafeteria and I was the only one to know that it was them.
Last night's dream.
For some reason I was running a game server, don't remember which game but anyways. One day I notice that a Greek guy has hijacked my server, gotten access to the master passwords and whatelse. I track him down and find him in an alley, selling the server. After I try to "buy" it back, he realizes I'm the real owner and starts running away. I shout to some passerbys to catch him but it takes a while before anyone responds, and he is taken custody.
I then get put into some kind of multiple arena thing. Me and some others have to go through multiple enormous rooms, each with a new challenge in them. One had a floor made out of mud, making movement difficult, with a lake in the middle filled with shark, and three skyscraper-sized human golems which we had to defeat to advance to the next challenge. The golems didn't think of us as a threat, even telling us to "go back, you'll just die here", but I became semi-lucid and knew that I could beat them because everything was under my control. After some seriously godly powerful punches, the golems were down.
We went into a stadium. There, we were rewarded for our arena prowess and I was promoted into a general. The stadium was full of people and they were cheering for us. National Geographic magazine took a group photo of our arena team. Dream ended.
The majority of my experiences with sleep paralysis have been quite pleasant actually.
With the last lucid dream I had (months ago), I remember just feeling an extreme lightness and numbness while being sucked into a whirlpool of colors.
If I were to describe it in another way, it was like I was looking through an incredibly detailed kaleidoscope.
I really need to try lucid dreaming more often.
I never knew how to ride a bike.
Then this one time I had a dream where this guy with aviators taught me how ro ride a bike.
Worked in real life.
:what:
Screw my college fund! I'm doing a PhD in Quantum Physics in my dreams now!
Woke up in my own laugh this morning.
In my dream, there were three HL1 health dispensers on a wall. They had faces. The outermost ones bitched and argued with eachother constantly, while the one in the middle stayed silent, trying to bear the annoying dispensers on it's sides.
I followed this for quite a while, it just kept on going. Suddenly the middle dispenser looks at me and finally says something after minutes of silence, in a depressed voice.
"My life sucks so hard."
I completely lost it and woke up my sister in the process.
i had this dream where there was a pillow in my living room it had something written on it i don't remember but when i turned around there was this shriveled up dead thing on my tv it looked like a redead from legend of zelda thats mostly all i remember but its freaking me out today just thinking about it...
What types of dreams are you favorite kind?
Mine are dreams about traveling, whether it be by foot or by car or bike.
For me it seems like that's when the most interesting scenery and scenarios seem to come by.

I like "story" dreams, where I basically just sit back and get carried away in whatever story my mind comes up with. By now I've got a running cast of characters and I'm thinking of writing down some of my dreams as short stories, they're certainly long and involved enough.
Had a "ghost hunting" dream similar to one I posted a few days ago. Was in a restaurant that had been built into an old mine. The restaurant was supposedly haunted by dead miners, and I wanted proof of their existence. Well, the dream was slightly scarier than the "old farmhouse" dream. Although I didn't see any ghosts during my stay at the restaurant, the overall atmosphere of the dream was very creepy. Only at the very end of the dream as I was leaving the place disappointed of not finding anything, I glanced at an old mineshaft and saw a black, unnaturally tall figure with a bright white faceless head slowly rise from a kneeling position to standing, and I shat my pants.

The night before that, I had a dream about warm summer days. The sun was shining, everything was bright and it was incredibly comfortable and happy, laying on the grass. A bit later I met old friends while walking on the street, and bought ice cream from a shop. It was a truly blissful dream. But alarm clock woke up for work :C

Lucid dreams ;)
Out of "normal" dreams, I guess sci-fi ones first, fantasy dreams (think lotr stuff) close second.
