For me; whenever there's a semi-lucid dream at hand I usually take a hike.
Had a dream about sea creatures. It sucked. I've always had a little phobia of the ocean's creatures since I was young (the weird-ass creepy deep-sea ones) and they were all over the beach. Strange, massive mollusks and huge horseshoe crabs and stuff. At the end my brother was whispering to me through the water and I thought nothing of it. Literally telepathic communication didn't even faze me at the time. Then he came up out of the water and he was a black, ghostly merman. I somehow thought it was a game and wasn't at all worried.
Also I went through a prison and shot every single person in there with an AWP and deagle. They tried to shoot back, but it was honestly more of a massacre :ohdear:
What types of dreams are you favorite kind?
I don't know if you'll know what I'm talking about, but after some dreams I just kind of wake up with a feeling of awe and satisfaction. That shit's what I look forward to when I go to sleep.
Does WILD make scary blahblahers appear?
Tried WILD last night, ended up with getting a horrible itch on my back so it failed.
I've been going to bed earlier, and my precious dreams are returning to me
I had a dream that Kim Jong Un did a convention near where I live, what does this mean?
Had a nasty dream about dead wasps everywhere. I kept squishing them by accident and a couple of them even somehow fell into my mouth and I somehow bit into them and they splurched their intestines all over my mouth. It was disgusting.
As a preface to this dream, I usually will wake up in the morning, roll over, and then start dreaming. I don't usually have (or at the very least, remember) any dreams I have before doing this, but the ones during this time period are always pretty easy to remember.
Anyways, the dream was in the lounge area of an airport, right outside the gate. I was sitting down and noticed a couple of my friends in the area too. I didn't think much of it and turned my head to the other side of the room and saw three black guys who I had never seen before standing by a trash can being questioned by what looked like a TSA officer.
I notice one of the guys slowly bending down and reaching into the trash can. When he comes back up, he's holding a pistol and he aims it at the officer. He shoots him 4 times in the chest and then turns to face the area where my friends and I are sitting. He shoots near us but doesn't hit us, a lot like warning shots.
After firing for a couple seconds (15-20?) he tells us to put our hands up, stand, and start moving. We begin to do so, but as I'm getting up I realize that the number of shots he's fired is way too many for any handgun to fire. As soon as I realize this, he turns his gun towards me and shoots me in the chest. I wake up and there's a feeling I can only describe as a vibrating in the area where he shot me.
Besides being a cool dream I though I would share, I'm wondering if that feeling I had when I woke up is normal. It hasn't happened many times before, but it would be really interesting if I felt what happened to me in a dream. So, is that an actual thing that can happen or was it just a coincidence?
I had a dream about kittens today. They were adorable!

It happens sometimes. Your brain's confused because to your brain, you were just shot. Yet you were dreaming, so you weren't shot so it's compensating. It's entirely mental. Think of it as like residual dream.
I remember when I was 7 and I had some sort of dream. It felt like I had a 6th sense for thickness, and a sound would play for each one. Then when I woke up, I didn't open my eyes, and I heard a noise like claws scratching tape on a wall. Then I stood up, looked near the door where I heard the noise from, and nothing was there. I remember my 7-year-old brain going "whut...?" and forgetting about it for years.
Would using my iPad to play sounds a few hours after I fall asleep help me lucid dream?
If I could set a quiet alarm without waking up and associate it with a lucid dream signal, it seems like it could work. Then again, I suck at lucid dreaming, so I might be entirely wrong.
Had one of those strange as hell dreams last night.
I was part of a planetary defence squadron made out of wizards using WW2 fighter planes, tasked to defend the Earth from sentient missiles. Yeah.
Also there was a romance sub-plot in it with a hot girl from the squad.
I had a dream where I surrendered myself to some type of criminal at gunpoint. I tried bribing him to not shoot me and when I saw that it wasn't working I just told him to shoot me. There was a very small inital shock from when he shot as I actually felt the shot in my head, which was not painful at all, but then nothing. Everything went black, I felt my head hit the sandy ground and blood pour from my head. There was no more feelings or anything. All I could do was feel my head had slowly lost connection with the touch of the ground. It was just nothing. I woke up and it was the most confusing dream I've ever had. I felt like I died. I don't think I'll ever really feel that again outside of a dream unless that is what death is really like.
I think I was lucid dreaming last night.
I found two coins in my bed, I felt them and was able to create a plinging sound by hitting them against each other. I suspected that the two coins in my hand weren't real so I pushed my thumb through them, then I dropped them on the floor and the sound they made as they hit the floor didn't sound accurate.
What freaked me out is how aware and concious I was the whole time, I snapped out of it when I realised that it wasn't real and that I was probably lucid dreaming.
Woke up in my own laughter again but am unable to remember the dream. So the humour will stay lost forever
When I was a kid I used to have a lot of dreams about being chased around my neighborhood. What was chasing me tended to change, one night it would be a pack of dogs, another night it would be a tank, then it would be a bunch of insane guys on bikes, etc. I never had trouble staying ahead of what was chasing me, because I knew my neighborhood well and there would be a lot of shortcuts and secret places where I could hide. However, whatever was chasing me would never let up, and I would constantly have to keep running. If I would hide somewhere, the tank would suddenly come busting through the walls, or the dogs would climb in through a window or something.
It was a very recurring theme in my dreams, and I always felt like it meant something profound, that it was my mind reacting to my fears and insecurities regarding exams and stuff, or something. It didn't feel like a nightmare, because it never was scary enough, or horrific. I'd never get caught, the dream would always end or transition into something else before that.
It's funny because when I read dreams from other people, I sometimes notice the same theme of running/fleeing and feelings of inevitability.
I had a dream just last night where my family was standing in line for what I think was a movie or a play. Regardless, two people, one fat man and one woman, come up to us in the line and pull out a pair of handguns. I forget who they shot, but they definitely shot one person who wasn't in my family.
After they shot the guy, they pointed their guns at us and I started to curse them out for killing somebody. I apparently got so angry that I pulled out my own handgun and shot the woman, killing her. When I tried to shoot the guy, the bullets bounced off of him and the only explanation I had was that he was so fat they couldn't penetrate his skin. (I love dream logic sometimes). As comical as it sounds, this just made me angrier and the guy began to apologize for everything.
This apology just made me angrier and I began to really shout the guy down. I remember saying, "if you had left without apologizing, you could have at least kept your god damned dignity!" After that, I stormed back to the car, sat in the driver's seat, and realized that I had killed somebody (the woman). I began to cry and then I woke up.
I dont' know why so many of my dreams lately have involved violence and specifically gun violence. I'm not a violent person, i've never fired a gun in my life, and I haven't even played a video game with guns for months (school work is a bitch). I'm not too concerned, but it is a rather strange theme for me. I'll let you guys know if anything else happens.
Last night's dream.
I found myself in a small room with some others. I had doctor who's screwdriver which I used to investigate stuff and slowly advance through the rooms, until I got outside and noticed that I was on a planet where robots had taken over and had started raising the water level slowly until everything would be covered by it. The water was green, and was full of some kind of fish monsters/zombies that the robots had created. I tried going back, but the exit was guarded by one of those monsters so we had no choice but to enter the city.
We hanged around the rooftops, until the water would rise high enough forcing us to move to a higher building (or get devoured by the lurkers in the water). We met some resistance group members who were planning to assault one of the robot factories, which could be seen in the far distance. The water kept rising and soon the skyscrapers were the only things we could stay on. I took part in one raid of a robot factory by using a long ass rope as a tarzan lian thing to get to the building that was beyond our jumping distance. I don't remember much else of this dream, it probably ended before any escape from this planet happened.
Another dream was that I found an old Siemens cellphone from 1993, which was a huge brick basically like those era's phones tended to be. Surprisingly though, the phone had high quality pictures taken by its camera (it had one for some reason) which were about the past. I saw pics of my now-dead cat as a kitten, pics of my now in his 40s uncle in his high school days and stuff like that.
Later on I took part in a Trackmania-like go-cart race which was pretty intense.
I had a dream that I had a girlfriend and that we did private activities together and even everything else made me feel good inside, but now I'm awake and so ronery. Good thing I have no interest in actually having a girlfriend or else I might be disappointed or something.
Also a guy I know dressed up as Bane
Yet another strange dream. I banded together with 4 animal ghosts in order to steal Nokia phones from a mafia boss. Ended up in an interstellar chase, as we escaped with a warp-ship from planet to planet while the mafia chased us across the universe. One of the planets was a lot like Earth, I was flying around and looking at the vivid landscapes of lakes and forests (strangely similar to Finland :v:)
I tried go lucid for first time yesterday and i thought of the stuff i wanted the dream to be like and lied on my back for about a minute or two. So in my thoughts just as this hot girl was supposed to appear i noticed i have a weird feel in my arms, then notice my heart is beating fast and my thoughts get replaced by scary faces, worst part is i have strong imagination... Now the question is,was i nearing the lucid state or not,as i wasn't paralyzed.

Hypnagogic imagery. Can be creepy shit like ghosts or rotting faces but also strange random stuff like places or objects, sometimes crystal clear. You can get into a lucid from them if lucky and if they are high quality enough (like full on scenery).
My last "creepy" hypnagogic image was a few nights ago, was trying to sleep when an angry looking snowman jumped into my sight out of nowhere and startled me.
[editline]7th October 2012[/editline]
My heartrate also rises when the hypnagogia and eventually SP starts to onset, even if I don't feel scared at all. Probably happens to most of us
I had a dream where tiny Vikings, about the size of my thumb, were besieging my house. I woke up when they summoned the Kraken out of my bird bath.
friday night i started to have dreams again, i haven't dreamt things in a long time
i had a series of maybe 7 or so different dreams on the past two nights, one of them being both insanely scary and insanely cool
basically, in that dream i was walking down a street in the forest (less than a quarter mile from where i live) with some family at night. i hear this faint crackling noise, and something in the sky grabs my attention: a huge, flaming asteroid/meteor/rock (according to my dream it was a meteor, i had this weird thing with white text or something at the top of my vision as if it was a movie) falling to the earth. it's maybe about as big as a small mountain, and it hits the earth around 50 miles away. cue unbelievably gigantic explosion that doesn't have any horizontal shockwave somehow, giant rock chunks flying in all directions, some landing way too close. one of the pieces lands where my house is at, other pieces landing just feet away from where we're standing.
post more, y/n?
I had a dream once that I was in the 1600's, when the last supernova was seen to have exploded in the Milky Way. Everything was really slow at first, I was eating soup at some table in a log cabin (wearing an atrocious dress, that had a lace type bib on it), and suddenly time started to move so fast, and I was somehow outside and it was night time. Which perplexed me, because for some reason I felt like it was supposed to be early. It was a full moon, and the sky was pretty normal when suddenly a fog overtook the sky, and I was moving, spinning perhaps. I was getting dizzy, and I felt nauseous. But I could not stop. Then suddenly bright violet and red made an oval shape and everything turned white. Supernovas are said to be so bright they outshine a whole entire galaxy, and that seemed to be true in that moment.
I was enraptured by the beauty, and how bright the sky shone for me. It was a very quick flash. But it felt like centuries. I couldn't see anything, but the sky. All the rest of my senses were numb. But I continued to move or spin or whatever I was doing.
Then suddenly I realized I was alone, and I stopped moving, and the sky turned black. I am pretty sure the moon even disappeared.
and then I finally got out of bed because it was a saturday and I slept in until like 3, and I was like in that state of half awake/half asleep (which is why I remember the dream so vividly) and the whole rest of the day I just had this unsettling feeling due to the dream.

That was no dream. If you ever want to see your bird bath again you'll give us the peanut butter.
My dreams see to have picked up in both quality and frequency recently. If I get more time, I might consider doing some photoshopping to give you an idea of what I saw.
Last night I had a dream where me, Praetastic and Kahgarak were Battlefield 3 soldiers. We started on a crane, smoking a rolled-up mouse pad filled with cheetos. Suddenly the radio beacon sends us a signal "We need you for a deadly operation!" and we jump off the crane, magically all suited up when we hit the ground. I was a recon, Prae was an engi, Kahg was a support. I'm pleasantly surprised how much detail I could remember, I'm getting better at it. If you really wish to know what weapons we had, they were all silenced with red dot sights and extended mags. Prae had a UMP-45, Kahg had a double-barreled M249 Saw and I had an MP7. Everyone had uranium-tipped crowbars.
We get further instructions by reading this piece of paper that got dropped from a chopper. Our instructions are to go a certain location. We do various dances, including the macarena and gangnam style, across an icefield for what felt like an hour. We finally arrive and reach a massive cliff. We look down and see a giant hospital with a helipad on top. It was surprisingly well guarded (for a childrens hospital that is) with foglights and soldiers that had bazookas capable of launching ban hammers. We prepare ourselves and take the jump. Halfway down, a snowstorm from the above cliff rolls in and the falling mist covers us up. Our watches got syncronised in midair and we hit the roof, taking out every guard at once. I bust out a lockpick and kick down the rooftop door. Security hasn't noticed yet. We enter a janitors closet out of the CCTV's line of sight. We strip off our snow camo and put I put on a janitor suit while Prae and Kahg wear some nurses outfits. We head past the cameras and into a security lobby. Kahg flirts with the guards and he lets us through. The guards drop their, uh, guard? I whip out the gun out of my janitors bucket and shoot the intercom. The guards react way too slowly and we shoot them except one. Kahg takes a pot of boiling coffee and grabs the last guard by the throat, pouring the coffee his throat, killing him (steam came out of his ears!).
Now the operation begins. Our target- the GameBoys that have been given out to all the sick kids. Nintendo didn't authorise the use in a public facility and it is our job to get them back. We work our way from the top, planting C4 on every door and blowing it all at once. We rush into the rooms and start snatching the GameBoys from the poor innocent kids. This is a dream, it seems awful now but in the dream, I felt FULLY justified. Once we reach the next floor, the security has finally reacted. Time to fight! We start gunning down all the security guards that start rushing out from the elevator. We realise our mission is in jeopardy so we fight our way to the center of the building and find the generator. We attach an EMP device and set it for 15 minutes, hoping to destroy any remaining GameBoys in the hospital. Time to run! We jump into an elevator after casually tossing a frag grenade into it to clear the troops out. We ride down to the bottom floor and reach the lobby. The head of the security (mecha-hitler Starpluck, I'm serious!) stands at the door. We spent a whole five minutes dodging his robo-fists and firing at him. I take him down in the end with my crowbar to his face. We run out the front door in slow motion and jump through the glass door. A Falcon is waiting for us and we jump in. After flying about 50 metres, the EMP we planted on the generator activates. What we didn't expect was the the generator would BLOW UP. The hospital evaporates in a giant fireball and a giant chunk of glass flies at us and hits us. The chopper crashes and skids across an ice lake and we all topple out. I've got a massive piece of steel lodged in my body, Praetastic takes off my headgear and starts crying. I slowly fade, looking at the snowy sky and then wake up...
Okay so I had a dream the other night and me, a friend, and some random dude drove to a storage unit we apparently owned. When we opened the storage unit we took out bags of money, a huge diamond, and a large plastic bag of diamond necklaces and rings. The random guy said that he was a professional and that he could melt the small diamonds from the necklaces and rings down to form a huge diamond we can sell. My friend suddenly gets high. He volunteers to drive the car back to my house, but he ends up driving on the wrong side of the road in the opposite direction of traffic where cars are coming DIRECTLY TOWARDS US (probably cause he's high). I get super paranoid and ask him "WHAT ARE YOU DOING MAN?", and he says "I don't know, I don't know". I'm scared for my life so I open the door to the car and jump out. Suddenly I appear at my house with the random guy, eating pizza I think. Then, a few minutes later, I see my friend coming up to our driveway in a completely totaled car (broken windshield, broken bumper, scratches, dents, shattered windows) coming out without a scratch and a smug look on his face. That's when I woke up.
I never knew what we did with the money and the diamonds.
I hate nights when I cant sleep, like tonight probaly because I slept for ~2 hours this afternoon :/
