I dreamed for the first time in a while last night. I walked out of my room and there was KFC food everywhere. My mom was on the couch pulling babies out of her back and throwing spoons. I went back into my room, laid in my bed, and woke up.
Being in a good quality lucid dream is as real as reality itself, sometimes even "realer" as your dream senses are heightened and sharpened to the max. Kinda like being on acid.
If your dream recall is good then you'll remember it just like something that you did 10 minutes ago. If your recall is bad then the memory will be fuzzy and you need to improve.
How can improve my recall? I remember pretty rarely, mostly when I accidentally sleep for exactly long enough and remember multiple dreams at once.
Dem Remees being manufactured, starting to ship in ~3 days (this time 100% certain)

Keeping a dream journal
I accidentally sleep paralysis,a army of super scary disgusting things marched in my room(i am sure they spawned themselves the instant i though of the mirror in the hallway directly overlooking my room door),i then though:Fuck you stupid idiot monsters, now burn! And then heavy appeared and shot them with a minigun that fires nukes. Silly hallucinations. I accidentally snapped out of it because it was so funny.

Last night's dream. Was walking on a street near my childhood home at night. Some guy said "the skies sure are clear tonight" and I looked up, and sure enough the dream night sky didn't disappoint. The sky was filled to the brim with multi-colored stars that were each as bright as Venus in the real sky. The milky way stretched all across the sky in such detail as if someone slapped a 3D NASA photo in there in the best clarity imaginable. The sky was so damn beautiful and vivid.
Then I noticed something moving. A bunch of shooting stars! Awesome, I thought. But then meteors started falling around and blowing shit up, and after a little bit of deadly meteor rain I looked up again, and saw an ungodly huge asteroid heading towards my town. It was shaped like many cubes smashed and nocollided together into a mess of sharp corners and flat areas. Kinda like this but the size of a skyscraper. I couldn't do anything, I simply had to watch as it gracefully, spinning, roared across the air and hit the ground about 1km away. Made a massive explosion that killed everything including me, I woke up right as the blast+heat wave ripped my body and the area around me apart.

you can still get it to work
you just have to make yourself believe that you believe it will work.
Had the awesomest dream last night. Everyone including the women had these long, golden, flowing, luscious beards.
I keep jolting awake, makes it really hard to remember what happened in a dream. Ideas?
I finally had my first lucidish dream last night.
I had focused on starting small anyway because I didn't want to overwhelm my self.
I decided it was best to react to my dreams natural course and only make minor changes.
I began on a boat, hands were bound and I was apparently a prisoner in what looked to be a late 1700's mash up with slight modern touches. As it resulted I decided, fuck this, I'm going overboard. So I leapt from the boat, broke my bindings mid air and decided flying was better than worrying about drowning, or the lack of drowning I would experience. So I ended up at some port and the boat docked, a bunch of armed assholes came to capture me, armed with rapiers and flintlocks I hid under the docks and decided it was best to wait it out.
Then once they were gone I ended up being jolted awake by my alarm. :(
I've been hoping to eventually use Lucid dreaming my treat depression and escape from the world when I'm deployed with the Army. Basically I'm looking at it as a psychological aid as well as entertainment. Any tips on how to improve my self? I need to start keeping a dream journal I figure after reading this thread a bit. Any other tips for dream recall and methods to gain control of my dreams better?
Also it might have just been my semi-lucid state but I had a hard time keeping the flying going, I often found my self in pain from just floating like gravity was pulling down on me and my body didn't like the idea.
Sometimes I attempt to exert dream control even when I'm not lucid, it's weird.
Saw a dream that I x-rayed someone's testicles and saw that there were two round cages with two squirrels running inside making them spin
laughed aloud and woke up from it
Man, had a fairly terrible dream a few days ago.
For whatever strange reason, I lost my calculus textbook, so I had to buy another one, costing $400. After buying it, I walked outside, and find the textbook that I lost. So I go back inside the bookstore to return the new $400 textbook...only to find out the cashier will only buy it back for $120. Got angry and left the bookstore...
And wakes up to find I didn't waste $400 on another calculus textbook, thank god.
I had a dream where I baked a cake for myself and put it away in a refrigerator. I come back later for it and someone fucking took it and I was so pissed.
Before going to bed, is 3mg of melatonin good enough?

I guess you could say
The squirrels were driving him nuts
A long time ago, I had a dream where I was on a wide open stone plaza made from stone slabs, either naturally yellowish in hue or made yellowish from the moonlight. It was elevated about 20 metres off the ground, and was surrounded by a dense pine forest, as if the plaza had fallen down from the sky as a single block and settled right there where it had landed. It was night, but the plaza was lit by moonlight. I was in the middle of the massive empty plaza and I looked at my surroundings. Behind me was nothing but the edge of the plaza after about a hundred metres. To my left, I saw a tall Aztec (or Inca or Mayan?) temple. From the entrance at the very top of temple poured down a great staircase with wide steps. It was all colored in the same yellow that the rest of the plaza sported. In front of me, I saw more or less the same as behind me, but high up in the sky, there was the source of the yellowish light: a colossal moon, taking up at least an entire fifth of the darkness enveloping the heavens. When I looked to my right, I saw something that might cling on to my memories for as long as I live.
It was a huge, thick tower, made from some kind of red brick, which gave an overall disturbing and foreign quality to the building. Think bricks, except Aztec (Inca? Mayan?) in architectural style. There were no curves on the sides or faces of the building and the edges were sharp. There were floors, each separated by a level of protruding bricks with spikes decorating every corner. All around the outer facades of a floor, there were various, subtle details surrounding glassless windows. Oil lamps hung next to openings, telescopes jutted out from some, rugs and cloth of intricate design hung down against the tower from others. The tower was or had been inhabited, and seemed like it could contain millions of people, if not more, since there was one more aspect about that tower that I haven't mentioned yet. One that frightened me.
It went on forever.
Through the sky, past the moon, beyond the stars, straight into infinity, it stood still and unwavering across time and space. As I looked at it, I felt an emotion that I still can't aptly describe. I felt like what you would feel when you think of infinity, like what your brain feels when confronted by a paradox. Pure incomprehension. Without words or voice, that emotion told me something; that the tower had been there before time had begun and would still exist long after existence itself would cease to be. That the tower was not just the very embodiment of time and existence, that the tower was time and existence. That every question ever asked was answered there, in its infinite libraries of infinite knowledge. That every possibility you've left unfulfilled waits in the tower to be lived by you. That everything that has been and has not been, will be and will not be, could be and could not be and is and isn't were in that tower.
Then I woke up and noticed that I had only slept for five minutes during my snooze. I've never had that dream since, but I hope to have it again some day.
Preferably before I die.
So right now I'm just woundering: why are you doing this to me brain?
Last night I went to bed at like 2 am. I couldn't sleep very long because I had to stand up 4 hours later.
In that short period of time I was dreaming something that will always stay a dream.
I was in the supermarket I usually go, for some reason I was with my parents, I was looking through some stuff trying to find what I need. And then some kind of girl just stood right there looking through shelf looking for something too. Being an awkward facepuncher I didn't say a single word and just kept looking. And then she startred talking to me.
It was kind of weird because she knew my name and asked me if that would really be me. After I just did a quick nod she started kissing me... Yeah now it's getting really weird. She was like a tiny bit shorter than me, had some coloured dark green hair. Being all "What just happened" I asked why. She began explaining how we always played when we were kids (I didn't remember at all and I still don't). She also said she was looking for me for a year now. After exchanging phone numbers... I fucking woke up.
I just feel so bad right now.
Went to bed at 3 am. Result:
In the dream I met my ex. We were casually talking, then she said she needs to go home. I said it was fine and she asked if I need a lift. I said yes.
She gave me a lift on her boat. Yes, we were riding a plain grey alluminium boat on the streets of moscow. I have no idea how it moved on regular roads. We were moving towards her house when suddenly we stopped by a shop. I was not sure what happened and got off the boat. I saw her running away in a curvy trajectory towards a shop nearby. She was running Statham style, extending her limbs as far as possible with her knees reaching a really hight point.
I was confused, walked around a bit. Suddenly I saw two midgets in brown coats grabbing a part of the boat. I yelled:"Hey, what's going on?!". One of them turned to me. His face was drunk red and he totally looked like a chav guy. He had a black bar in his hand. He put it on the ground and said:"Yeah, what's going on?" and then moved the black bar on the ground. A piece of broken glass emerged from under the black bar and hit me right above the right eye. I thought it was a bad idea to mess with these midgets and started running where my ex ran away, using the same weird style of running for some reason. I ran into the shop to notice all the customers standing in a line and midgets rummaging in the shop around them. The midgets ordered me to take my place in the line.
I woke up thinking what the fuck really.

More fucked up dreams.
There is a lot to describe, so I won't go into detail. Basically I was a sherlock-kind guy working together with a team of criminalists and I was resolving a murder. Was a very interesting criminal story that ended with bad guys fighting my guys on the beach with spaceships floating above water nearby. Not sure why, but we had to do it hand-to-hand, despite futurestic pistols appearing in the story multiple times.
After we won the battle I went into a spaceship to find a blonde girl there who did a major job and basically solved the crime. I said:"Nice job". She said:"You can press on me, but I will flow under". Then I proceeded to kiss her and said:"I will press on you...".
Then everything went black. In the next scene we were on a space ship with that girl, traveling around random planets. Somehow since that point everything had a purple overlay on it. I remember I was managing our ship. And blonde giving me blowjobs.
Seems like I need a girlfriend and a spaceship.
Trying to get my dream recall better again, been several months since I last wrote something down so my memory of these dreams is really sketchy.
Start off in a little hiking group, adventuring in a large basin surrounded by mountains with a massive hole where a lake should've been, but there was no water. We keep moving onwards through the basin. There were 2 mountains of note, both bigger than those around it - one of them was an extremely active volcano. Soon after, it started erupting, spewing smoke and lava bombs across the sky, so we figured we'd to the wise thing and run like fuck back to base.
Skip back to base, turns out its my house so I make sure all our cats are inside. Eventually the volcano stops erupting and we head back over to where we were.
This time, the ground is covered in craters and scorch marks, and strange rock orbs with spikes on their underside - kinda like a mix between hundreds of pincers and the spikes on the underside of starfish, and I warn the others that these are 'lava bombs'. Soon after the volcano erupts again, but this time the lava bombs simply disappear when I'm not looking at them and become a grey mist about a foot deep off the ground, so we get the fuck outta there again.
What I can't remember fully is something about an underground complex (kinda like a base made in sewers, post apoc style) spiderants and skags/dogs, and getting in a helicopters and dogfighting with something else in the skies nearby to the volcano.
Here have a few sketches:

Oh yeah, and I fell asleep at 4am and woke up at 4pm. x.x
EDIT: Oh also, another thing. Can anyone recommend any good ways of getting to sleep? I've been having massive trouble with it, ended up staying awake for hours and hours until I gave up and instead kept myself working until I actually felt vaguely tired. That results in my sleep patterns slowly flipping out until it gets to how it is now, I'm awake til about 4 every day. I lost my MP3 player a few weeks ago, about when it started becoming a problem. :(

will do
it will probably require several nights worth of tweaking to get the settings right for my sleep pattern and the right brightness for the lights and so on, so the effect prolly won't be noticeable for a while
