Okay you wannabee butterflies, let us find some definition of sleep and dreaming. I created a thread here: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1243045 Those are my posts to this thread. If you are interested, PM or reply in this thread. [editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
Last night I had a travel dream, visited various countries and so on. I remember a mountain in Italy with some tourist thingy on top Also a dream about my dead cat, it was a ghost yet I could pet it and everything, it was a happy dream.
Yes, so some mental transit and some mental domain. So, you reached a mental peak of sort from mental exploration. And the mental remains -- the resonance of being -- but do realize that if you find ghosts in your dreams, at least some part of you accepts that an illuminati exists for the illuminati are the ghost leaders of the "strongest of species". It's all relative. The point is that your unconscious knows something before your conscious mind: your conscious mind merely exists to bind amidst the reality of sensory input. Everything else is abstraction. If you experience great wealth in a dream, you'll subsequently find yourself increasingly more motivated to do things (unless if it's a "bond", you'll be tasked -- the motivation secreted by your hypothalamus/basal ganglia will be conditioned to some neocortical task) [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] So, given that logic is some definition of something, such that something is the persistence of that very something, i.e. such that logic is from a to z. What I mean, is that a forms the abstract premise of z. Thus, a and any procedural path to z is the logic of z. Anyway, we have a concise definition of logic: so, how about you guys/girls/agenders begin applying mental logic to dreaming. I.e. "mental" without that protective membrane. "mental" is without "social", so don't fall for that social crap of dreams. Albeit interestingly -- and admittedly -- sentience can seemingly manifest as anything, even non-3D forms (i.e. my experience of dreaming has gave me experiences outside 3D). [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] By the way, I refer to hypothalamus/basal ganglia due to some confusion of understanding: in some studies, hypothalamus is suggested to be the mediator of "drive" (i.e. what I assume to be the "spatial" drive), yet in others the basal ganglia seemingly is required to preemptively measure the "longitudinal drive", i.e. the proactive drive that maps out what you should do.
i have no idea what you just said
i have no idea what you just said
Okay, I'm just saying that if you're super-passionate of sleep and dreaming, send me an email (livelonger87@gmail.com -- I'll append you to the discussion of DrmDoc). [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] I mean, from sleep and dreaming I have solved problems instantly. I didn't trust them but they were true, and I spend months devising proofs. And it's reoccurred too: the essence is that these realms can help the sentience of being of seeking the resolution of what we have defined as UV (btw, my definition is SUBJECT TO COPYRIGHT AND PATENT LAWS SO BE CAREFUL ELSE I'LL LAUNCH LEGAL ATTACKS IF YOU MISUSE WITHOUT REQUEST OR USE WITHOUT REQUEST -- just a request, I want to know that we're alike that's all hun x) [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] Okay, I'm sorry! But realize that in all essence that a wakefulness property of mind function is a mere propensity of the membrane that eventually constitutes the "conscious mind". [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] If you want more -- if you're truly passionate of dreaming -- then you'll PM me, otherwise, just rate me dumbs or whatever because while I am drunk at this very presence (yes, PUI sorry -- just like last time I posted a thread of sleep and dreaming -- and such epiphanies -- under PUI, and was banned, I don't mind even if perma). I just want us all to find these truths -- I'll help you, if you help me! We must find mutual problems for we to help, otherwise "help" is void. We must enable the self-perpetuation of our project(s). Please, SV is important -- there's more than SV, certainly, but I gave you three quintessential variables! Please don't joke about this! These variables are more than what you think they are.
fyi i'm really really positive you haven't actually patented UV(whatever the heck that is) mainly because you can't patent a biological theory
So every time I read the Song of Ice and Fire books before I go to sleep, I dream myself reading the books. Literally, my dream involves me tracing the words on the book with my fingers, I can't even see what they say and I'm just hearing words like "Lords" and "Kings", it's fucking weird when I wake up because it felt like I read the whole night.
I just had a dream where everyone was eating remote controls and everyone was complaining that the battery acid was killing them.
Oh god your guys' dreams are hilarious. Eating remotes? That's golden.
I'm just going to shove one of my previous nightmares into a set of spoiler tags, you have been warned. [sp]I once had a nightmare that I had centipedes crawling all over me and that they would never let go, causing my skin to constantly burn and itch. I was flipping the fuck out on the floor in dream, trying to wake the fuck up and couldn't. When I finally did I still felt something crawling on my skin but the feeling soon faded. It was one of the most horrifying things I've ever had a nightmare about, aside from a fever-dream about severe financial instability.[/sp]
I just never have nightmares. Even if there's a loud "BANG!" then I just go "eh whatever" and everyone else jumps. Nightmares don't get very scary for me. Once I asked my dream to show me something scary and I saw a cloud of rotting faces and I was like "dude this sucks moar scary plz."
last night after I woke up after a dream, I wrote in my dream notes as there was a "foreign" sentence I wanted to record, it was p funny then at morning, I check the notes and there's nothing at all, just a blank paper fucking false awakenings
Happened again last night except this time I did a reality check (nose pinch) after realizing that it really shouldn't be this bright in my room (it was midnight), it worked and I woke up and wrote in my real dream journal instead. fuck you brain, i win this time What I wrote was the names of the two main characters of the dream, Adam Haff Hill and Brian Will Staff. They were enemies but became friends and climbed a mountain together, I watched it like a movie camera.
I don't want to go into detail, but I had a dream where I was in my English classroom, and noone was there. Except for a cat on the desk that started to flirt with me. I think I'm going insane.
Or developing a cat fetish..

Man, my dreams suck compared to some of the ones here. I need to start writing some down though.
i normally don't talk about my dreams because they're normally incredibly awesome. it's like i'm in valhalla when i'm dreaming. there's always this great glorious feeling and euphoria in the dream. i always dream of giant places and buildings. a reoccurring type of building would be a clean cut concrete bunker with giant pristine faces, which is my favorite kind. thing is though i had some dream which featured the first girl i ever had actual real feelings for.. it completely killed the mood of the dream because i had forgotten about her and now i remembered. we didn't have a nice relationship at all. it was mostly centered around hate. i was sitting at a table with some friends in some kind of cafe or something with high ceilings (i like high ceilings) and we both noticed each other at the same time. she started walking over and i was panicking in the dream. so she finally reaches me and for some reason everyone at the table knows her, even though they don't and they greet her. she ignores them and the bends down to my face like inches away. she has this insanely ominous expression upon her face and in that moment i thought of everything she could do. i'm extremely paranoid so retribution for her is probably 10x in my mind for what it really should be. i forget if she saw the fear on my face, she already knew i was afraid or if she was completely obvious to my current state. either way she said something like "we haven't seen each other in years, do you wanna catch up?" in a strangely friendly yet hostile manner. woke up groaning like i was half paralyzed and has having a power drill being taken to my forehead. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] yeah takes me like fuck knows how many years to get over her. then fuck knows how many years to forget. then this stupid fucking dream. and she was so god damn hot in the dream too. everything she was wearing was perfect and shit.
maybe a psychology major can explain to me why i'm having these fucked up nightmares. they all involve crashing some sort of vehicle had a dream last night i was driving a truck on a bridge back in my hometown and i went through the guard rail into the lake. but when it was in the lake i was watching myself break the windows and shit. very vivid and i immediately remembered it when i woke up. i also had a dream i was in a plane crash, i actually woke up because of the vertigo feeling
Every night I go to sleep I literally just wake up in the morning. I'm not sure if I've stopped dreaming or if I just can't remember them, but is there anything I can do for this? Kinda enjoyed dreaming but I haven't had any for months.

It may also symbolize anxieties you have regarding becoming the victim of an accident.
the latter part of that seems sensible. i can't imagine someone having nightmares about being in a horrific accident because they overcame an obstacle in their life. like wouldn't they have pleasant dreams or something to that effect if they managed to overcome an obstacle?
Is it normal to have a dream about falling asleep and having a dream? Because this has been happening to me a lot. Often times I'll 'wake up' into a completely different scenario. It's definitely not just three separate dreams, there's a sense of continuity and sometimes it actually makes some sort of sense.
I had a dream last night that I killed myself. I can't lucid dream or anything but in my dream I knew it was a dream, and knew that I wouldn't actually die, so I climbed out of a 3rd floor window and jumped down. I woke up when I hit the ground.

Been trying to achieve WILD for a couple of nights now. But I didn't read the memo and didn't remember that you were supposed to keep your mind active. Thus I just got an average nights sleep with dreams influenced by Painkiller HD which I played before going to bed.
I had a really weird dream last night. I was walking down the halls of my school, desperatley looking for my next class' classroom and I couldnt find it. Then I saw the teacher of that class walking the halls, and I said something like "Where the hell is your classroom?" Then she said "I'm a failure." and she led me to the classroom. She started teaching and started talking about the final draft of an essay we needed done by that day, and then I said I didn't have it. She gave me a paper that had a huge red F on it and I nearly cried, then I woke up. Appropriate dream, too, because there actually was an essay due in that class by Monday.
I hate my dream last night, woked up in the morning but it was so early i went back to bed. After a while i went around my room and notice some small changes and went back to sleep again. Terrible dream :I
had an awesome dream last night i was working in a transport agency that used giant, floating animals to carry cargo containers on their backs to remote areas. the animals were basically if you took totoro from the ghibli movie, enlarged them enough to fit one big cargo container (the kinds you see on ships) on their backs, and flattened their backs so the containers would stay in place. they were also unbelievably fluffy and comfortable to lay on, when i was piloting one of these cargo animals it was just the most comfortable feeling. it was as if i was laying on a big blob of jelly that had soft fur on top of it, it was just incredible so anyways, me and 4 others had a delivery mission, each one piloted one of the things and we had to deliver our containers to a remote mountain region. apparently it was a civilization that had never seen other humans before, so they were really scared of us. we had to sneak around and get spotted as little as possible but we had to walk through a hallway filled with people on the sides, they reported us to the "leader" and then we had to run down a staircase to not get caught, and we jumped on the animals and flew away our reward was 90,000€ that we split up between us, and we also got 1 super rare coin from that unknown civilization, can't remember what their currency was called but it was something like seesoo or sowee or something that sounded like that
switched the remee to turbo mode, 6x2 alternating blinks every 2 minutes at full brightness and oh boy did it work. 2-3 vivid WILDs during the night, both caused by the blinking when i was half-asleep gonna keep these settings fo sho
I want to tell about my two most recent and interesting WILD attempts. First one went quite smoothly, I began seeing images, clearer and clearer, then it happened - I felt a "dream mode activated" feeling, saw a still image, reached out to 'grab' the object and suddenly everything filled with grid-like bright yellow-white light, Whole world began vibrating and buzzing like I'm inside a supernova inside 8000 exploding Chernobyl NPPs. Outside I looked like this. Inside I looked like this I released that object, let it cool down, grabbed again and had the same effect. Decided to fuck it and try again tomorrow. Tomorrow I discovered that this was part of a sleep paralysis, nothing to be afraid of. Yesterday night I had a little trouble muting my innter monologue while doing WILD for some time before news anchor said "A good tip is to imagine yourself in a gunfight" I did just that and immediately fell into that supernova again. I focused on the vibration to experience it fully. Because I wasn't hearing it from my ears and had no distortion or limit to how much I can hear, I heard every single detail, every millisecond there were lots of little vibrations and I heard them fully. Truly an Orkel's avatar experience. [editline]7th February 2013[/editline]
remee
Oh my, it's out? Last time I saw it it was a kickstarter project. Oh well, time to get those $100
I remembered my wake-up-then-fall-asleep-again dream today, it was my own made-up superheroine fighting a superpowered Lex Luthor, but it didn't hald a candle to All-Star Superman. Don't know if this was a "you should follow your dreams and become a writer" dream or a "your writing would be clichéd and terrible, so don't do it" dream. Also Rick Moranis was in it.
