• Seatbelts: Why don't people wear them?

A lot of older parents never really enforced wearing seatbelts because they themselves weren't used to wearing them. Cars didn't always have seatbelts.
Lol Lankist :cawg:
Yes it is buddy. [editline]11:43PM[/editline] The reason we have the Second Amendment is to give Citizens the capacity to kill, and generally fuck shit up. [editline]11:44PM[/editline] Guns kill, and that's exactly why we have them.
"A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." Guns kill, but we have them to kill people who are a danger to our country, not to protect ourselves or to fuck shit up.
And thats how 9/11 started.
An 18 year old was killed in a head on collision as he was pulling into our neighborhood. They said he could've lived if he was wearing a seatbelt.

It is the exact fucking opposite. It is for security of FREE state. It is a method of retaining power should the government become heavy-handed in its operation. It doesn't exist to kill specific people, "threats" as you seem to think. It doesn't exist to kill at all. It exists to allow the CAPACITY to kill.
Do I have to spell out every fucking post I make for you morons or will you someday be able to interpret statements with undertones?
no, you just need to stop making bullshit posts that consist entirely of retarded bullshit so basically don't post 90% of the time [editline]06:48AM[/editline]
He just complimented your post and you are STILL fucking raging at him? :bang: Seriously dude? Just shut the fuck up.
compliment is a strong word it's pretty much the equivalent of saying "hey, you didn't fuck up!" [editline]06:49AM[/editline] it's wide-eyed surprise more than anything
you are cruising for a bruising
you wanna start something???
your sailing for a wailing
buddy you're on the express line to hurtsville
Because, If they get in a accident and the car is on fire, They don't have to worry about taking their seat belt off.
I just fucking lol'd
Yo Lankist i know you're just having fun arguing with thickheads but goddamnit man, do you have to turn every thread into shit.
, many of whom I know aren't particularly idiotic.
Contradiction?
I wear my seatbelt unless I'm in the backseat behind one of the passenger seats at all times.
I'm all for idiots killing themselfs by using drugs or whatever. But because theres risk to others, why should you think self comfort is more important than another persons life or well-being? To not wear a seatbelt is incredibly selfish.
Yes it is. I don't care if Lankist thinks seatbelt tlaws are bad. Seatbelts are to protect others as well as yourself. But then again gun laws are there to protect others as well, and i hate them, so who am i to talk?
Also I don't think seatbelt laws are bad since not wearing one is a risk to other people within the vehicle, and it's not really an inconvenience to anyone. It's probably one of the only nanny laws I will ever be OK with.

I only wear a seatbelt when I'm going on a really long drive or something. Not much use when it's like 10 minutes and you're out of the car.
I only wear a seatbelt when I'm going on a really long drive or something. Not much use when it's like 10 minutes and you're out of the car.
I don't like you. I think you're stupid. You should wear your seatbelt.
I only wear a seatbelt when I'm going on a really long drive or something. Not much use when it's like 10 minutes and you're out of the car.
Yeah well I don't give a shit about you or anyone else so keep on not wearing that seatbelt.
I don't like you. I think you're stupid. You should wear your seatbelt.
Why does it concern you. [editline]02:39PM[/editline]
Also I don't think seatbelt laws are bad since not wearing one is a risk to other people within the vehicle, and it's not really an inconvenience to anyone. If someone isn't wearing a seatbelt in your car tell them to get out if you care about yours or their safety. Same goes if you get in a car and not everyone is buckled up. Ask them to buckle up or get out of the vehicle. You have a voice and free will. Make use of it. [editline]02:41PM[/editline]
what if that kid became a human missile, hit another car which in effect swerved and the driver got killed???
There is no record of this ever happening, and if this was a legitimate reason to have seatbelt laws then why don't motorcycles have them.
Because they're uncomfortable.
my car puts the seatbelt on for me [editline]07:37AM[/editline]
There is no record of this ever happening, and if this was a legitimate reason to have seatbelt laws then why don't motorcycles have them.
i'm sure it's happened somewhere, it's not so unlikely of a situation and motorcycles are safer if you aren't buckled to them [editline]07:37AM[/editline]
I only wear a seatbelt when I'm going on a really long drive or something. Not much use when it's like 10 minutes and you're out of the car.
you can still get in an accident in those 10 minutes
My country has a seatbelt law, but it doesn't help because people put them on only when they see a police car standing on the side of the road. I wear my seatbelt all times, no matter what.
Also I don't think seatbelt laws are bad since not wearing one is a risk to other people within the vehicle,
how so? How precisely is it a great risk and why is mention of this risk not in the legislation? [editline]11:10AM[/editline] Additionally why do you guys always START with "it's for your own safety," and THEN backpedal to "it's for other people's safety" with some vague fucking ridiculous examples that were never mentioned during the legislative process and have absolutely nothing to do with the law. See, the government ain't advertising that it's for other people's safety. Because it fuckin ain't.
My brother would never wear his seatbelt and it took a friend of his fucking dying in a car accident to finally start doing it.
Did you read my post? Because I think you just agreed with me
No, I didn't. The Second Amendment isn't designed to kill anything. It's designed to keep the majority of power in the hands of the People.
Nevermind
