Twilight and Harry Potter both suck. Period. Here's why: Twilight has a "cast" of carbon copy characters from other great works of literature. Every character is just another vampire or dumb girl. The main vampire, Edward, has a flat personality and appeals to girls because he's the fantastical monster that's capable of love. That's all. He has no real personality traits aside from being "dark" and "mysterious." The girl, on the other hand, is just an abuse-seeking idiot. Read the books. Edward is an extremely abusive character: he hits her, beats her, and always looks out for his own emotions before he thinks about her. "I wanna do whatever I wanna do, leave you alone and walk away from your love because I want to do it." That's all it is. It's bull. The girl just wants someone to beat her and abuse her. She just has an interest in creepy, mystical beings, like most women who fantasize about monsters. They want to be able to love the un-lovable. AND, she's a flat-out slut. At one point she's actually ripping Edward's pants off for sex, and Meyer says she's such a great mormon who wants nothing more than to write good, CLEAN fiction. Bull. That's all she is. Then, the side characters are all just the different emotions a human experiences. Anger, love, jealousy, all balled into shitty characters. In it's own right, it's definitely targeted the right audience to sell, but that's no excuse. Harry Potter. God, what shit. The story is about as deep as a hill, if that makes any sense. It's not at all like Twilight. It's not a romance. The story revolves around teenagers who can cast spells thanks to wands. Wow. Take away the wands and they're just teenagers. Boring teenagers who talk in shitty British accents. Joy. The characters have a little personality, I'll give you that much, but it's too bad the movies and the books are more interested in sharing with us uninspired emotions the characters SHOULD have but don't. Not to mention all the lackluster plot twists and overall boring stories. Book one: they go to school and get in trouble. Book two: they go back to school and get in trouble. Book three: they go back to school again and get in trouble. Books four, five, six, and seven: they go to school, talk a lot, walk around a lot, and get in trouble. Awesome. Given the writing is much better than Twilight's, it's still not a whole lot better. Look, you want a good series of books with great writing and characters you can relate to, with and actual plot and some of the most interesting stories in literature? Ender. Orson Scott Card. Turns out he's a good writer. And the books are amazing. Yeah. Or how about most any book by Neil Gaiman. Try American Gods. Do yourselves a favor and try something that has depth and meaning. Or don't.
Wall of text.
Now I'm not just being biased when I say you're right about Twilight. But with Harry Potter, you're wrong. Of course, yeah, they all get into trouble, and if you take away what makes it special, of course it's going to suck shit. And that's why they HAVE it in there. You can't say something is shit because if something wasn't in it, it would be bad. Fuck, it HAS it in there, so therefore, it's pretty good.
I would watch Harry Potter over Twilight anyday...
I can't tell if that post got rating-spammed with agrees of if it's legitimate, but hell freakin' yes.
Sucking dick>Twilight. I've never seen it, but I'm sure it true.
Sucking dick>Twilight. I've never seen it, but I'm sure it true.
I second this.

Or don't.
I can't really imagine something starting with American being better than Twilight. Especially followed by Gods. Otherwise, great rant. I do agree.
From the first reason why Twilight is better than HP:
Because the books and movie NEVER get old, and Harry gets old after the first time of reading/watching it. Plus Twilight has actually good looking people.
So a lack of any character development, static characters, and "OMG HOTT" teen actors in the movie version is what makes Twilight so damn good? I lol'd. At least Harry Potter matures over the course of the series and actually changes in seven years, as opposed to Twilight, where everyone is always the same: guys are abusive blood-sucking assholes looking for chicks to fuck, and the girls are always sluts. Given the demographics of the Twilight fanbase, I can understand why they love those books... what girl doesn't want to be a slut that gets abused? Also, the bolded part. The movie. Now I believe that, generally, in films based off of books, the book is usually better. So why the hell does the ACTOR in a MOVIE ADAPTATION of a book have ANYTHING to do with it? Honestly, a reason why I dislike movies based on books that I've read is because I have an image in my mind of what every character looks like; my own image of each character based on how they are described and portrayed in the book. I guess Twitards are incapable of comprehending basic literary elements... Also from the "100 Reasons Why Twilight is Better than HP" MSN page: I lol'd. It's a sign in the Comment count.
First of all twilight's main character looks like he is advertising drugs just look at him, and 2nd this shit is becoming intense i want to see a war of the geeks in my history books in 2050.
I'd tap that ass.
I'd tap yours <3
I'd tap yours <3
I'd tap both of your asses with a branding iron.
How the fuck can this comparison be made? I mean, none of the fucking sparkly vampires can say they're best friends with Rupert Grint.
I'd tap both of your asses with a branding iron.
A quick tap probably wouldn't hurt all that much, kind of like accidentally rubbing your hand against the side of a wood stove.
I love how they they [Twilight fangirls] can't even say Twilight is better then HP, because deep down, they know it's not.
My sister admitted she is drawn into watching movies because they have pretty people in them. She likes Twilight. She couldn't explain the plot to me though. So I guess that's one thing I can give this movie. Everyone in the movie is beautiful. Is that anything different than any other movie you've watched? No. They usually cast nice looking people.
I'm seeing a common theme in the Twilight fans in the 100 Reasons. Most of them claim that Harry Potter, quote, "has big words that are confusing." and, quote, "am too dumb/stupid/inattentive to read Harry Potter." So, having said it themselves, Twilight fans are too stupid to understand Harry Potter.
I hate both, but Harry Potter is still better. And even if i hate both, i still think that comparing HP and Twilight is like comparing Half Life 2 and The Scribble Ninja
I hate both, but Harry Potter is still better. And even if i hate both, i still think that comparing HP and Twilight is like comparing Half Life 2 and The Scribble Ninja
Or like comparing halo and a good fps game, they're nothing alike!
