What is it that compels a person to convert a Youtube video to a webm rather than posting the actual thing? I get that after it's posted around for a while it's difficult for any one person to know the real source, but there has to be one person at the start who goes out of their way to convert the video. Why?

Why?[/QUOTE] It's either for uploading on 4chan boards or using imgurs "video to gif" function which only just converts it to a soundless webm, and those eventually get found on those sites rather than the original videos, a lot of the time without the poster knowing the source and they just get posted here

Edit: It now has more views than ALL OF MY VIDEOS COMBINED HAVE GOTTEN SO FAR THIS YEAR. I think I'm going to quit Youtube.

Soundless webms are made because the attention span of your average lmao pics "consumer" is shorter than an unborn infant midget's erect dick, which makes it so fucking hard to make someone watch a YouTube video. It's a shame the easiest converters remove sound though.
