Guys, i've taken matters into my own hands and i'm scavenging parts from my MP5(such as the bucking) to fix my SCAR but i hit a road block. See, the original problem i had with my SCAR was that the hop-up nub wasn't extending down far enough, so i tried disengaging the hop-up gears to push the thing down all the way but all the way is too short. We determined that the spring inside the hop-up is keeping it too high but from the looks of it even removing that wouldn't do much. I'm really not sure what to do. Any ideas that DOESN'T require me to buy anything?
What about your M16 hop-up?
scar has ics-style hop with the side dial
What about your M16 hop-up?
I wish, different hop-up type.
I wish, different hop-up type.
Oh, had no idea.
I wish, different hop-up type.
Get the sandpaper out then.
Get the sandpaper out then.
Eh?
Eh?
Sand down the parts of the hopup so that they work properly. Last resort of course, I'd sooner buy a replacement hopup.
Would either of these be good replacements for my old broken gun? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_134&products_id=2881 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3732
Probably. I was going to buy one of those M14s awhile ago.
Probably. I was going to buy one of those M14s awhile ago.
Aight, If there's anything else in that price-range you would reccomend keep in mind it needs to be in stock because I need it by this weekend.

The M14s are good from what I've heard, but get the fake wood one.
I think the CM031 has a plastic receiver (correct me if I'm wrong). The M14s are good from what I've heard, but get the fake wood one.
Why the fake wood one? Personally I like the OD better. Also, The CM031 description says
This rifle is sturdily constructed with a metal barrel assembly, metal receiver cover, and metal trigger assembly.

Aight, If there's anything else in that price-range you would reccomend keep in mind it needs to be in stock because I need it by this weekend.
What exactly are you looking for in a gun?
Why the fake wood one? Personally I like the OD better. Also, The CM031 description says
I guess you can have OD, don't want to force my opinions on you. It says receiver cover, not the whole receiver.
What exactly are you looking for in a gun?
Just a durable close-mid range gun.
It says receiver cover, not the whole receiver.
Well I feel dumb
Just a durable close-mid range gun. Well I feel dumb
M14 is not good for CQB. A SOC16 wouldn't be too bad though.
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3498 Full metal, should be similar, $133 but without full stock. The other one might be better for you as long as you don't mind the non-metal parts.
M14 is not good for CQB. A SOC16 wouldn't be too bad though.
Yeah if you want the M14 get this. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=408_430&products_id=3686
I think I may just get the AK74 With an extra mag
I think there's a full metal version of the exact same gun but it's oos.
I think I may just get the AK74
If you could pay a bit more I'd get a d'boys or newer cyma model. I just bought this: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_206&products_id=4735 those lower number cyma's aren't nearly as good. You also don't really need more than one high cap imo.
If anyone's seen the Tan D Boys SCAR-H anywhere in stock it'd be helpful, only place that seems to have it is weapon blender but it's expensive there.

Also just ordered the ak74.
No real local retailers (mostly cheap general sports store shit) but yeah I have them on notification. Really should just be patient, I suppose.
Someone explain MagPul
It's a company that makes tacticool polymer AR (mostly) accessories. Their name comes from their first product, which are sleeves you put on the end of magazines with a little finger hole to help you pull them out of the pouch faster ("mag pull").
Company made a product called the "magpul" which allows you to pull your magazines out more quickly they because famous as fuck so they named themselves "magpul" and started to market innovative gun accessories. bad name choice because now their namesake product is called the "magpul magpul" they're basically the apple of airsoft. everyone has done something similar before, but they make it expensive and shiny
a company that makes semi-useful firearm accessories
They're a company based around real AR-15s but they do airsoft things (and obviously a lot of the furniture is compatible just by nature).
