Just curious, what's the appeal of the 1911? I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, it's just not military standard issue and from what I've seen the airsoft versions have some problems. Is it just that it's an iconic pistol?
It was a military standard issue sidearm in the days of WW2, Nam, etc. what do you mean?
and WW1, Korea, Persian Gulf War, Somalia if I'm not mistaken... Damn, that weapon has been in a lot of wars/conflicts. Fuck, automerge.
Does the meu count?
About the WE vs. TM argument: Here's the way I see it If you're looking just to get something to stuff in a holster and will go bang on the rare occasion you need it - get the WE. If you want a pistol that will be very durable, accurate and always reliable, buy the TM. Everything aout the TM is superior to the WE. Even the plastic on the TM is tougher than WE's metal. This is not to say you can't make a WE into a very durable accurate, reliable, and all around nice pistol, but by the time you've done that you've already spent as much, if not more than you would have on the TM. Basically it all comes down to price and your idea of worth. You have to decide if it's worth the risk to buy the WE, or conversely, if you think it's worth it to spend the extra $70 on the better pistol.
7.4v Li-Po's are good for winter. But will they damage the gearbox if i use it excessively or will it work like a normal Ni-Mh without the extra ROF ?
No reason it would damage it really. It would be like using a 9.6v nimh during the winter.
I thought so.I've used a 11.1v but that's because i got a MOSFET installed. Also, can i treat LI-Po's like Ni-MH ( Without the explosion part ) or do i need to charge it specially then the rest ?
That's actually pretty common. My CIRAS and my friend's Shark Gear CIRAS both do that when you don't have any plates inserted. I bought some cheap plastic SAPI plates for mine and it works fine. Fits better with them too. Without Plates: With Plates, not quite obvious, don't really have a better picture but it does help. It also helps to distribute the pressure that knot puts on your lower back. The problem for me was the little sleeves that hold the straps at the back of the shoulders. I simply pushed the straps up into the sleeve and it looks great now :D
Hey guys, important question. Whats the best piston and piston head combo I can get that will give me the best compression and durability? This is going in my KWA SR-7, and I don't want it to be TOOOO expensive if possible (Prommy heuyheuyheuy)

I might go for the Gaurder double O ring cylinder head depending on what I have in there as is, I was thinking Gaurder for piston head too, what is this one, exactly?: http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Airsoft_Guarder_Polycarbonate_Piston_Head_p/55641.htm How about a new piston itself? Any ideas?

http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=27703 For pistons, it depends on what you want. I personally like azimuth pistons with full metal teeth. like this one http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_148&products_id=9722
Thanks! Im looking for as many suggestions as I can, does anybody have any more?
Making a purchase worth about $50 on Evike, what are some good coupon codes?

By Saturday I should have access to somewhere betwen $150-$400, most likely around the 300-400 mark. That's enough to buy nearly any AEG apart from an Inokatsu of some kind. What should I blow this money on, assuming I end up with it? I've got ARs up the wazoo, an AK, a pretty decent sidearm, and a good shotgun. I'm out of ideas. New gear instead? Combination of gear and something else?
Get yourself a good sidearm, getting a high quality one should make you realize how awesome they are. And you're in California where you can use them almost year round.

Do people have to play in the arctic to get their GBBs to not work well? I'm thinking a TM night warrior custom, an old school TM M1911A1, or a KWA Mark IV for a new pistol should I go that route.
not a kwa 1911
TM Night warrior 1911's are held in super high regard.
TM Night warrior 1911's are held in super high regard.
Should I buy a geiger counter too to make sure they're not irradiated? That's not a bad joke, it's a serious question...
Are CM.031s reciever battery or stock?
the metal aks-74 and 105 are receiver, the plastic 74 is stock
Are Maglite lenses durable enough to take a pellet at close range? I'm thinking about using a small Maglite in conjunction with my pistol to daze opponents indoors.
Okay, so KJW makes better 1911's than WE. WE single stacks suck compared to their Hi-Capa. How are KJW Hi-Capas?
Okay, so KJW makes better 1911's than WE. WE single stacks suck compared to their Hi-Capa. How are KJW Hi-Capas?
They are really good, I have one and it has been a great pistol. Everything is TM compatible in it.
Whoops. I meant to ask how are the single-stacks?
they are mediocre
I would say KJW single stacks are equivalent or less than WE's offering. In most other cases I'd take a KJW over WE any day of the week.
So i bought my first airsoft rifle (Softair DMPS A17 (it was all I could really afford)). The bad news is it's clear. Are there any tips on painting it black?
Uh, honestly wouldn't bother wasting too much time with anything DPMS but Kawaii has a guide on painting guns somewhere on this forum
