I had a copper penny from 1943. It still had a "brand new penny" shine. My dickhead friend said "lol its just a penny" and threw it in a fucking drain.

I did. I found it in my grandmother's coin box while exploring her garage. I thought it was cool so I asked her if I could keep it.

If you are telling the truth and it wasn't counterfeit, congrats, you just lost $500,000
I've got an old Soviet bill with Stalin on the front.
Have sex with it.
Post pics.
Put it in a plastic case with foam backing and keep it.
That shits your new good luck charm.
So I was in starbucks earlier and I tried to use my gift card thing. The cash ran out so I owed $1.72 and gave the lady $2. When I got my change, I went back to my table and sat down, just kind of threw the coins on the table. Later I noticed one of them kind of looked like one of those shitty Chucky Cheese's tokens, on the back in big letters it says "ONE CENT" and below that in small letters it says "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" with laurels on either side. I picked it up, turned it around and looked at the print date, and it says 1945 D.
What can I do with this? Is it worth any more than one cent? Will anyone on Facepunch buy it for $100?
I'm afraid it's not worth much at all. I have a few 1899 and 1910s pennies which I bought for like 50p each about 4 years ago (This was from some random blacksmith's market sort of thing).
swallow it, the clench your gut as you vomit and tilt your head back, it might go into your brain.
I have crapload of old money, over 100 from 1900 - 1950 period, including Kingdom of Serbia's dinar. It was made of silver, and had the highest value in Europe at the time.
My oldest coin is from 1800,not sure from what country.:

Drop it on berlin.
Sell it, you can buy a lot more pennies for what you get :downs:
Speaking of old antiques, I have a family heirloom, a Damascus steel sword with a jewel on the hilt that dates back to the 1400s. It's sharp to this day and I have never thought (And I never will think) of selling it.

I've got a $1 bill from 1934.
It's worth at least $1.
Keep it.
Put it in your pocket.
i have an 1898 penny. well a shilling to be exact :smug:
I heard on the news that a coin, 1700 something I believe was sold for $10,000,000. Yours, meh. not so much.
Buy a drink from the same year
Serious answer: Keep it until you are really old. Give it to someone you know and you'll make thier life happy because they might be rich. That's if America changes currency.
I have a mexican coin from the 1800s and its not worth shit.
You might wanna pass it on for a few years before acting like its big bucks.
Shit is worth more than even current Mexican currency.

Pfft, I've got an 1880 silver dollar worth...
Wait for it...
$15.00!!!
I have a somewhat large coin collection with a Liberty Head 1 dollar coin from 1900. For some reason it's worth like a hundred bucks already. My favorite is some unknown fucking GIGANTIC coin from 1875 or so.
Hey, you actually have a 1945 cent, and it basically worthless. So you double fail.
I was told that a copper wheat penny from 1942 is worth quite a lot. Is this true, Facepunch?
