That should be convincing enough. :v:
Okay guys here's how this is going to go: Important Update on how the fuck you're getting here and what the fuck we're doing.
Methods of Arrival:

Metra Train - BNSF Line (From Chicago): Catch the train coming from Union Station at 12:30pm between Union and Hollywood. Times for that train are listed below. If you get on at Union station buy your tickets before you get on the train. If you don't they'll charge an extra $3. That's twice the fare it should be. This is the route I am taking, along with Dalndox, Dai, their girlfriends, and Q. We will be organizing everyone at Union Station.

Metra Train - BNSF Line (From Aurora): Catch the train coming from Aurora at 12:20pm between Aurora and Hollywood (If you're at Brookfield don't get on the train just walk over it's like 4 minutes)

Metra Train - NCS Line (From Antioch): This is the train Dai, Dalndox, their girlfriends, and Q are taking to get to Union. You're going to need to take the 9:05am train from Antioch between Antioch and Union. That train gets into Union at 10:40 - Sorry guys but you're going to have to wait at Union for around an hour and 40 minutes before you can board the train to Hollywood.

Metra Train - Some other line: Link below. I'm not going through every single schedule to get you a train. Just know you have to be at Union station before 12:30. Leave yourself enough time to get a ticket and get to the train.

Driving - Parking at Train Station: If you're driving and you want to meet us at the station and walk with us to the zoo, you can park at the Hollywood or Brookfield train station for free.

Driving - Parking at the Zoo: If you're driving and you don't want to walk with us, or you're getting here later than when the trains arrive, you can park at the zoo but you have to pay to park. It's between $5 and $9 for the day.

Time scale for the Zoo:
We're getting to the zoo around 1pm and we're probably going to wander around the zoo until 4pm when the Winter thingy starts. The Winter thing runs from 4pm to 9pm. After that we're probably going to go somewhere to get something to eat. I know a good pizza place that's within walking distance, or we can walk around and find something.
I hope this doesn't turn out like camp Facepunch. IE.. everyone staring at each other and occasionally making small talk about TF2. At least thats what I heard.
If anyone is coming from the northwest suburbs (union pacific from harvard) y'all should pm me. We could take the same train / walk the two city blocks south to union station / pretend that one of us knows how to get to where we're meeting up. It'll be fun.

Did you watch the videos they posted? It didn't look awkward at all.
Well, my boss gave me the 30th off, so I'm all set to go.
Awesome.
If you're coming on the 30th, PM either Daijitsu or myself (or both of us) for our cell #'s so we can coordinate.
If you decide to come on the 30th, that's OKAY as long as you can get to the zoo at least an hour or two before it's time for us to leave (9pm). Just PM me on FP with your cell # and I will text you.
I will periodically (every half hour or so) check Facepunch for PMs on the 30th.
-Dazed- has provided us with an example of what not to do.
He pm'd me his phone number. This is wrong. You only do that on the 30th and you've decided to come but you didn't say so in the thread. The point of pming me your number is so that I can tell you where we are in the zoo on the 30th.
Between now and the 29th you need to pm Dai or myself for our numbers. :v:
I keep forgetting about this thread, I'm going to try to get there, I'm making DruggedEllis plan a way to get there, since I suck at planing on getting anywhere.
Plus I've been kinda sick for 4 days.
www.mapquest.com and www.googlemaps.com are pretty good at planning routes :v:

A bag...
With the Facepunch logo on it!

Oh and a spot of "good" news. Snowpocalypse 2010 may or may not cancel my trip to Boston so I might be able to make it on time!

[editline]28th December 2010[/editline]
im not going but it would be funny
It's a zoo...
I liek zoos
Are you coming?
NO I live nowhere near there but if I did I would.
Here we go go in two days! Queue up, people.
One and a half days :eng101:
Sad news. It doesn't look like I'll be able to go anyway.
I was relying on my girlfriend to purchase my train ticket. We didn't know it was going to be four separate train rides and neither of us have the money for all of that (I'm poor and she's a college student).
Not to mention the weather calls for freezing rain that day. I don't know about you, but freezing rain and sub-40 degree temps are not my idea of fun.
Sorry guys. :sigh:
Where are you seeing freezing rain? It's all clear down here. Remember you're like an hour from Brookfield.
Don't worry about the train tickets. I'll cover you from Union to Hollywood and from Hollywood back to Union. All you gotta worry about is Lake Villa <> Union.
[editline]29th December 2010[/editline]
Yeah no rain. I'm looking at the weather for Thursday right now and down in my area (includes Brookfield) it's got a high of 40 with no forecast rain and only a 30% chance of it.
Again, no money for the train at all now. Neither me nor my girlfriend have it. I'm late on my car payment and all of my money has to go to that.
It's really non-negotiable at this point.
It better not rain. Since I got a ride there now, just getting back is a problem.
