Back to me.

Also due to the fact that I STILL cant drive when it is snowing or with any significant amount of snow on the road, if I was coming it would all end up to how the weather was.

Drive to Kenosha, take the UP-N to OTC, take the BNSF (Amtrak Union Station) to Hollywood.

or drive to my office (lake villa, halfway between you/chicago) and catch the train in with me.

An hour and a half to Crystal Lake, IL. Then Richard Simmons can drive the rest of the way.
Though actually it'd probably be easier if you guys drove to Lake Villa or Antioch and took the NCS train and met Daijitsu there. You'd have to be at the station by 9:11am though

Either way, it depends on the weather. I learned to drive in Atlanta morning rush hour traffic. Not the god damn snow. It still freaks me out.

You get used to it. Its not that difficult.
Dude go buy chains for your tires they don't cost much. Just drive a bit slower than you normally do, brake early and brake LIGHTLY, don't make sharp turns, etc.
That drive would be mostly highway.
[editline]30th November 2010[/editline]
Which means that it would be plowed and salted.

Why don't you like it that I am not comfortable driving in the snow I mean god damn.
I have only lived in this state for a little over a year and only drove in the snow where there was about 1/8th of a inch of snow on the road once.
Oh boy this is going to be fun.
I get back from vacation on the 30th at 1 p.m. at O'Hare airport, only 20-30 minutes from the zoo. If I leave my car at the airport I can drive right to the zoo and be there at about 2-2:30 or so.

It's not that I don't like it, you're just not showing a great deal of common sense, man. Get snow chains for your tires, problem 1 solved. Problem 2 solves itself. Highways are used heavily, so they're one of the first things to be plowed and salted when it snows. No way will there be snow or ice on highways except maybe on overpasses/bridges.

So am I putting you on the "Definitely Attending"? We're not going to wait for you though :v: You'll have to find us in the zoo.

If you're going to continue living in Wisconsin, you have to get used to it. Its not a matter of personal opinion, or status on driving in snow. Its a requirement in living in the state of beer and cheese.

Tell them the internet demands it of you. It is a rite of passage into manhood.
And that we probably won't rape you.

Zoos do make me horny.

:geno:
It'd be neat to go, but then again it does seem a bit excessive to drive 3.5 hours one way to go to a zoo and meet some internet people.
You're moving to Chicago anyway. It'd be good for you to get to know the area some.
Plus you'd be hanging out with us for like 8-10 hours or so. Should be a good time if we get enough people to come.
I'm not moving for like two years yet.
Still helps :v:

I didn't go to the Six Flags meetup, but I imagine it might be something like that if the turnout was good, and people enjoyed themselves. Only problem is dealing with the winter conditions, and being outside most of the time. Some people will pooh-pooh that.

The zoo has enough enclosed exhibits and gift shops to keep warm. The aviary was fucking hot and humid I thought I was back in Florida during the summer.
Dude Can i come along I might be able to goto Chicago this December :D
That's great. Another meeting I won't be able to go to. -_-
Dude Can i come along I might be able to goto Chicago this December :D
If you can make it you can come.
Unless you're like 12 or something :v:
I might come, but why of all places the zoo?
Because there's actually, surprisingly, not a lot of things going on in Chicago during the holiday that a group of Facepunchers would enjoy. It was either this or some shitty thing on the pier that wouldn't last nearly as long.
From 1-4pm we're at the zoo itself for the zoo, from 4pm to 9pm we're at the zoo for their holiday festivities. Read the link I put in the OP. They've got a laser light show ffs.
After the zoo closes we're going to a good pizza place near the Brookfield station to make them happy with money until the 11pm train back to Union.
Put me on the maybe list.
Well shit I guess since Telepethi is on a month long "break" daijitsu is now running the show?
I'm still here. I just can't edit the OP unless I can convince a mod to reduce/remove the ban so that I can continue to organize this.

I am sure Daijitsu wouldn't mind editing it for you. That is if he can.
