Yeah, but it's six hours' drive out of my way. I'd be totally cool with a meet-up during any other time, but if I were going that far out I'd need a hotel for the night, and I'd be late for the festivities on New Years' Eve. I live out by Saint Louis.
I know this is many pages late but awesome, you live by me. Illinois or Missouri side of the river?
A lot of mention driving recently... are we still meeting up at Union Station?
Ahh, the saga continues. Put me on the 'maybe' list this time around. May or may not have plans. Edit: And I won't have to make an hour drive to get to this one. I'm a Brookfield Zoo member and live like 15 minutes away. :slick:
Dang, I love Brookfield Zoo. Too bad my parents think it is a bad idea to go to the zoo 2 and a half hours away with a bunch of random people I met on the internet.
A lot of mention driving recently... are we still meeting up at Union Station?
If you're coming from anywhere except from along the BNSF railway line, yes. You will meet up with Daijitsu and his bunch plus everyone that isn't coming from the West. If you are coming from the west (along the BNSF line) no you will meet everyone at the Hollywood station. [editline]11th December 2010[/editline] If you're driving like a faggot you're going to either meet us at the station and leave your car there and walk with us so we ridicule you less or park it at the zoo for $9 and we ridicule you more. Tell them to lighten up and not let you have any fun. They can talk to either myself or Daijitsu, the organizers, and we'll set 'em straight with a good hard mature conversation. :v:
I'll be there on the 1st :C
second round: Gameworks in Schaumberg sometime Para's around? :buddy:
What's Gameworks?
basically a massive 2-floor arcade with a bar not that I'd move past the DDR machine but whatever
Oooh a 2 floor arcade? DDR? Bar? Count me in. Except I'm not 21 so I guess the bar part is out of limits... Unless... Daijitsuuu
I live in Milwaukee, and what is this? Can I come?
I live in Milwaukee, and what is this? Can I come?
so long as you can get out here, yeah.
so long as you can get out here, yeah.
I94 will take me straight into your heartland. I will crash into the Museum of Science and Industry. You will see my hazard lights. That means I'm ready to be rescued from the wreckage.
I94 will take me straight into your heartland. I will crash into the Museum of Science and Industry. You will see my hazard lights. That means I'm ready to be rescued from the wreckage.
pretty sure a taxi will ram you before you get all the way up the steps
pretty sure a taxi will ram you before you get all the way up the steps
I am the taxi already. No, seriously, I hate driving in downtown Chicago. I value my life too much. [editline]11th December 2010[/editline] Do you ever go to Wisconsin to get a taste of what sane driving is like?

[editline]11th December 2010[/editline] Do you ever go to Wisconsin to get a taste of what sane driving is like?
my girlfriend goes to Eau Claire for college, 300 miles of wisconsin every other week is more than enough for me. It's nice how everyone moves to the right lane when they see you coming. Most people in Illinois make an effort to keep pace with a slow car next to them so you can't get anywhere SPECIFICALLY because they saw you coming up fast.
I have no problem driving in downtown Chicago at all...
Just went down to Autozone got some winter solution window wash stuff and a really nice ice scraper. Fuck you winter I'm read for your shit!
Guys seriously stop letting this thread drop.
yyyyyyep. So, it's getting close. it's also getting cold. my car is still frozen to the parking lot since two nights ago...
Mine too. I'm going with my girlfriend's family for Christmas :3: I won't be here the 25th and 26th, possible the 27th. But I'll definitely still be at the zoo the 30th

Unless there is a train that goes from O'Hare to Brookfield.
why cant you guys have a milwaukee meetup
why cant you guys have a milwaukee meetup
Because Chicago > Milwaukee [editline]13th December 2010[/editline]
I don't really have any other options. Unless there is a train that goes from O'Hare to Brookfield.
http://metrarail.com/content/metra/en/home/maps_schedules/metra_system_map.html North Central Service and Milwaukee District North have stations near O'Hare. Take them to Union and meet Dai with the rest of the group before 12:30.
You're picking the closest place to my city we could meetup in, but the only time of the year I have plans.
You're picking the closest place to my city we could meetup in, but the only time of the year I have plans.
again, we can meet much more than once a year so we'll just make another thread when the time arises. Hmmm, I need to make mailing lists of everybody in the area.
Gonna buy the zoo and turn it into a walmart before you guys get to it.
Do ho ho ho that slaps me on the knee. You're so funny.

Then I have to take another train at 04:48 that gets to the Hollywood stop at 05:13. However, if I drove I would be there at around 2-2:30 or so. I am really better off just driving IMO.
