I would expect SIGs to be a big deal over there...
State Police here are switching to S&W M&P40's.
Edit: Police use M&P 45's not forties... what a dumb mistake. They are switching over from Sig's to them for whatever reason.
I think you mean P38, not "P36".
They're stylish guns, but not something I would choose as a handgun for CC.
Fun fact: both the P38 and P1 have a shortened variant with the barrel cut down and the front sight placed on the frame.
Shit, I do indeed mean P38, I don't know why I mistyped that.
Also, that unfortunately means they're banned here, they'd have too short of a barrel length.

Police here use .40 cal Glocks. I got to fire one, the officer's service weapon actually, when I was at a range once. I didn't like it.

Local PD here is a mix of Glocks and SIG Sauers, usually in .40 S&W
The local police in Jackflashistan use Colt Delta Elites in 10mm auto all day, erry day.

Internet Movie Firearms Database?
Yeah, whenever I watch an action movie there's a little voice in my head that screams "MUZZLE FLASHES AREN'T THAT FUCKING BRIGHT" or "DOES THAT MAGAZINE HOLD 200 ROUNDS OR WHAT? JUST SHOW THE GUY RELOADING ALREADY".
That feel when you're watching an old movie and the person is using a five-shooter and ends up shooting enough rounds to sink a ship.
Any movie where a muscular hero wields a belt fed machine gun. They always have very short belts... but they never run out makes me laugh every time.

I do this, but less quietly.
In fact, I was watching an old Clint Eastwood movie the other day with my dad, and we actually paused it to identify a rifle

Yessir. Local sheriff refuses to sign off on stuff like that, so had to create a trust for it.
HHhmm, .22lr round seem to be a good stocking stuffer for me.
The gun control "debate" in the Mass Debate section hurts to read.

Wait, what? Could you explain a little bit?

If you cannot get the county Sheriff to sign off that you are a person who is okay to own NFA items (back before the NCIS database made the idea obsolete), you have to register the gun through either a Trust or a Corporation. The latter has annual fees required to keep the company registered, so a Trust is an affordable alternative. Also has the benefit of detailing who you want your registered firearms to go to after you die, so they don't end up in legal limbo.
I had a look at one of these today.

I had shot a rock island 1911 a few months ago and it was the worst thing I had ever touched in my life, it kept jamming. I traded for the Springfield lightweight operator commander and had no problems the rest of the night.
I put 150 rounds through that gun today and didn't have a single jam, brand new out of the box and I was the first to rent it.
Dear Santa...

So lets say you are CCing and you do get confronted by someone and you shoot them in self defence. What happens next? Do you call the cops or what?
