.40 S&W/10mm calibers are loaded to very high pressure. When a round is loaded into the chamber of a Glock pistol, part of the casing is semi-exposed, as the chamber does not fully envelope it. With the high pressure rounds, there was a very rare tendency for the casing to split at that point when fired, exploding in the chamber.

Key point.
Most likely the only times it did happen was with idiots using hot hand loads
Bought myself a blank firing gun for collection purposes and I noticed that the little sucker came with a orange plug like this one:

It really irritates me, but I know that it's there to show that it's not a real gun bla bla bla, but it really looks dumb.
Any easy way to remove it?
Fire with a blank still inside:
Boom. Real bullet.
Fire with a blank still inside:

No, the muzzle flash would just come from the same slot where the casing flies out.
Drill it out.

Not any more offensive than rails on an AR15, IMO.
Rails on anything looks stupid and like someone doesn't have a clue as to how to mount something. If you don't need a ton of items you can remove and install quickly, a rail is a waste, and looks childish.
So help me god if I find a rail on an AK, besides the small optics rail on the side of the receiver. And if any moron dares to attach anything to it besides something made in belarus or russia.

Cry about it.
I swear, it's like the honda civic boy racers turned into gun nuts and started bastardizing great guns the same way they love to trash their cars.
That's all these rails and useless accessories are. It's honestly worse than the boy racers, at least they most likely drove their car or maybe improved one single thing on it.
If anyone who slaps all this garbage on their gun, actually went out and shot it, all that bullshit wouldn't be hanging off their gun. About time someone takes a 7 pound rifle and manages to make it weigh 12 or even 15 pounds, it's about time they just trade the thing in and buy a barbbie, so that they have something they can dress with bullshit till their heart is content.

I like the part where you said "Cry about it" and then proceeded to bitch about what other people do with their guns even though it has no effect on you whatsoever.
That said, though you may sound like an elitist cunt, I cant say I disagree.

Believe me I understand your distress, however I think some guns should have rails especially depending on the preference of the user. I think these fucking retards trying to be super fucking tactical is such a waste of time, and the real military has less than half of whatever you can imagine on some fucking "super cool AR". But I want rails on my AR, It's the easiest form of instant customization. Need a fore-grip on/off? Easy. Same goes for a laser or flashlight with stobe for blinding enemies. But I also recognize that 90% of the people with all those accessories won't ever fucking need them. I want a rail on my shotgun receiver top for the sake of having a small red dot, especially for slug shooting. Regardless this isn't 1940, we have cool fucking accessories and electronics now, and who's decision is it to say that the person using them won't ever need em?
Oh hey, we have a firearm thread.
I'll try to get a picture later, but my dad and I have:
2 Mossberg 500 Bantams (.410 and a 12ga)
1 M44 (Izhevsk armory, I think) that we sanded down and refinished.
1 .22 Colt Target Pistol
1 10/22 Ruger rifle
1 Mini-14 (Tactical version)
Before you get all "Tactic00l noob" on me, it doesn't have a bunch of useless rails, a single top rail with a 8x scope, and a folding stock.
Oh, found a picture of the pistol. Always though it looked really cool.

You brought that one on yourself by putting a very high magnification scope AND a folding stock on a gun.
That's a massive contradiction in hardware. I could understand it being a range gun, and wanting a scope of that power so you can spot your own shots easily at 100+ yards, but why the folding stock? Or, turn things the other way around and say why put a bulky slow-to-aim heavy scope on a compact and lightweight gun?
You're hurting yourself on both ends and your modifications are going to cancel each other out in practice. You want to use the scope and have it for a range rifle, put the factory stock back on so you have something for a decent stable cheek weld. Or better yet, take the scope off and realize that it's a mini-14 and it's best suited as a light weight, simple, handy rifle.

I understand a flat top, it's a simple interface for switching optics and sights out quickly. The military needs maximum ease of adaptability, because things will be getting changed around often, also understandable. You're average person doesn't own thousands of the same gun and have a need to quickly and cheaply switch out forgrips, lights, illuminators, and other accessories on a constant basis, nor do they typically even understand the purpose of what they're putting on their weapon. A light for home defense isn't a bad idea, but that doesn't require a quad rail system made in china to be slapped on every gun you own.
As for your last quote, you could apply that logic to, quite literally, anything. Someone can only be stupid or do stupid things based on someone else's opinion.
If people are going to own real weapons, they need to treat them as such, instead of a toy to dress and play with. When you start putting chinese made bargain bin stuff on a gun you consider to be for "home defense" you're taking your life into the hands of chinese mass manufacture; it makes you look irresponsible.
Here's a picture that's the definition of stupidity, and a perfect example of everything I've been talking about.

Yes, that's a bipod on a shotgun. Probably because he can't lift it anymore.
I'm not going to read the entire thread to see if it's already been posted, but I have a more-vertical version of that picture in the OP:

I suppose it could be reasonably effective against helicopters and low flying aircraft if you had a bunch of people doing it.

Fuck you, Ill do whatever I want with my weapons. As long as it doesn't make the weapon unsafe, its fair game as far as I'm concerned.
Gun ownership doesn't have to be "super srs business" in any respect other than safety.
A bipod on a shotgun lol. People like to accessorize their shit, who wants another carbon copy AR when they can do some shit to make it look cooler in their eyes. Personally I like keeping it as simple as possible based on the function and use of that weapon, my defense shotgun is getting a pistol grip and perhaps a collapsible stock, parallel rails on the front for a blinding light / laser, and a red dot sight. I'll probably have the front rails off the gun most of the time anyway cause I don't like too much shit on a gun either. Guns can be fun and dressing them up to look all tactical is what some people want to do, I don't like using Chinese accessory shit on my gun mostly cause I enjoy quality. Most people who make their guns "tactical" don't understand a tactical gun needs to be lightweight, slim on the accessories, and read to fuck shit up when necessary. For a lot of people "tactical" is just a look, and that's up to them hate it all you want, I don't care for the over the top shit either; that's the beauty of America, you can do whatever you want to do to your gun (within the laws or your state/county), and I wouldn't have it any other way.

That could've worked with Nugget's high-caliber round and the fact that Stukas flew real low.
