Went to the pistol range today, haven't been there in 3 months. Shot the glock 19, glock 23 and springfield XD in .45
I'm not a big fan of the .40, recoil is too snappy for me so my groupings weren't that great. I do love the .45, recoil is smooth for me and the 9mm I also like, so I shot better with those.
Dude, that's gay, I can find corrosive military surplus 7.62x54R shit for $0.33/bullet up here.
Shit, you said non-surplus... That's like $4/round up here, nevermind.
Also, you do know the AK fires 7.62x39, most of which uses the same corrosive Russian primer, right? It'd require just as much cleaning, actually probably more due to how much more ammo you'd put through it, as the Mosin.
Also, somewhat off-topic, if the Mosin Nagant is referred to as a Moist Nugget, is the Nagant M1895 referred to as a mini nugget?
Normal 7.62x39 is a lot cheaper than 7.62x54r here for some reason. I have no idea why because it's practically the same round. It's about .75 cents a round here for regular 7.62x39.
Did you think I was kidding about buying the shotgun?
...would you be interested?
I think he said the gun is unlicensed, and I know most European countries require licenses on a per-gun basis. If it has no license, it can't be sold.

Wait a minute, Prvi Partisan 180gr 7.62x54R boxer primed non-corrosive stuff up here is like a $1 CAD a round, where are you getting $4 a round from?

Mostly gunaddicts, as I was too lazy to check all of the usual places, and GA is retarded overpriced, so it botches the numbers a little.
Also, are you near the GTA? Ain't many gun shops I know of in Toronto thanks to our last mayor, gotta leave the city to find almost anything, and a lot of places have little or no website, so I'm not entirely sure of what's available.
Well, that and i don't know of much other than Ellwood Epps, LeBaron, and Bass Pro in terms of gun shops in my area, most of the browsing I've been doing is online, Marstar and Tradeex mostly.

Yeah, I live near the GTA. The range I go to (Silverdale) has a storefront called Lanz Shooting Supplies that sells the PRVI 7.62x54R for $19.99 a box. SFRC also has it in bulk for $450 per case of 500, though I wonder if you can order smaller amounts.

Can't you not hunt with FMJ bullets though? If I'm looking for non-corrosives, I'm looking for them for hunting, and I don't think you can use FMJ to hunt up here. Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't taken a hunter's course and it's been 3 years since I read the non-restricted book, and all the restricted one says about hunting is not to do it with pistols.
Still I can't seem to find anywhere that has 7.62x38R for the Nagant Revolver. I don't really plan on buying it now, but it's pretty cheap on tradeex, and if I can find ammo I'd keep it in mind for the future, but nowhere seems to have it, because it was only designed for 1 gun.

Ohhhh my bad. Sorry. I didn't realize you wanted soft points. You're right about FMJs being illegal, I thought you just wanted to kill paper.
Still, I don't think it'll be as expensive as $4 a round, you can try shipping 200gr LVE rounds from westrifle.com, still $19.99 a box but you have to factor in shipping and all that. Also the ordering method is really weird, you have to fill out a form and email it to the guy.
Here:
http://www.westrifle.com/54_S.html
They had one box of JSP on ammosource for about $20. If I'm getting things for plinking, it's going to be military surplus http://www.marstar.ca/ammo-etc/am-surplus.shtm because it's cheap, I'd only get non-corrosive for a Russian gun for hunting.
This hypothetical situation talk makes me want to get a nugget, but I've got other toys on my mind, and other costs to worry about.
Also, that ordering system for westrifle sounds just as dumb as Marstar's ordering system, e-mail/post mail a form to them, and nowhere can I seem to find shipping costs on Marstar, which throws my budget completely out of whack.
Yeah about around here, one round of 7.62x54r non-surplus goes for about 2 dollars at all the stores I've been too. I'm not really in favor of spending 2 dollars per bullet.
I think that is the reason most go for a AR here in Southern California, range-useable 5.56 is half the price than Range-useable 7.62x54.
Haven't been here in a while. I'm almost at the point where I'm going to join a gun range and try to get my licenses, so I've been thinking for the future considering the "5 firearms" law in the Netherlands. The things I have on my head are:
a .22 (any suggestions?)
an AK variant (most likely a WASR 10 63 if I can get my hands on that "terrorist gun" in the Netherlands)
an AR
A shotgun
That leaves 1 slot open for either something pistol or a nugget.
Man I don't even see the use of a 5-firearms per person law.

I was already thinking about a ruger but this makes it even easier.
Do you realise what the number after X means? Do you know what R means? Do you know what bore size means? Do you know what different amounts of powder and differently weighted bullets mean?
Well I don't at least :downs: then again I only have an air rifle right now.
The number after the x is the length of the cartridge in millimeters. 7.62x39 means it's 39mm long, 7.62x54R means it's 54mm long. The R means, if I'm not mistaken, rimmed, meaning, again if I'm not mistaken the cartridge has a slight rim around the back of it. The two are only similar in caliber, the 54R also weighs more, as it has a greater powder charge in it. How much more, I'm not sure, and I CBA to look it up on my phone right now.
Far left is 7.62x54r, and the one to it's immediate right is 7.62x39

7.62x54r, 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 7.62x51mm, 5.56x45mm, the rest I have no clue
7.62x54R, 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 7.62x51, 5.56x45, 5.8x42, 6.8x43 Rem , 6.5x38 Grendel, LSAT caseless, LSAT plastic-cased... i think that's right.
Just out of curiosity what fires the LSAT caseless rounds?
Just out of curiosity what fires the LSAT caseless rounds?
The prototype ACR rifles, apparently.
It was just one HK weapon that never went anywhere, I think.

I was always pretty sure Netherlands gun laws were among the shittiest in Europe. I can assume ARs and AKs are banned outright. Maybe I am wrong though.

Also, who wants to bet Norway's gun laws may get shittier.
The shooter apparently had a glock, time for a full handgun ban in Norway.

The shittiest? You can't be more wrong.
Our law allows basically everything. The only shit part is getting the firearms themselves.
You need to get "experience" in a certain caliber before you're allowed to buy firearms in said caliber and even then the 5 gun rule is still there. So if I would want 5 guns It'd take me more than 5 years most likely.
Most other countries ban guns that sound scary or do something silly that makes no sense. Our laws just say "no full-automatic firearms"
Gun ownership is a non-controversial subject in Norwegian politics. This is because most illegally used guns are stolen from larger, often military, storage facilities. Break-ins in private homes seldom lead to the theft of weapons, unless the owner has not followed the regulations. Thus, private ownership is not under scrutiny. By far, the most crimes are committed with stolen weapons, not legally obtained ones.
There is no apparent public desire to introduce a concealed carry permit at this point in time, and there is no such license available to civilians.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Norway
Good to see that some country realizes that legal gun owners tend not to commit crimes. As long as that guy didn't legally own the Glock, they should be all fine.
Also, it seems like under Norwegian law if you declare yourself a collector of a certain type of firearm, say, pre-democratic Russian weapons (gives you a very open range to choose from), you can get automatics, you'll just almost never be able to fire them. I could see one justifying firing it yearly as "ensuring the firearm still functions, to ensure its value hasn't fallen due to inoperability."

Good to see that Norway is some what smart when it comes to guns.
If the same shit happened in Canada I'd fear a handgun ban by idiots that's for sure. Well maybe not with the current conservative majority but in any other case.

Uh 5 years for 5 guns? That is pretty shitty.
And I always see Dutch people on /k/ complaining how restrictive their laws are and stuff you sure some stuff isn't banned?
Another thing about Norway;
UNRESTRICTED SILENCERS!
pew pew
From what I understand, most of the world that allows the peasants to own weapons are pretty cool with silencers. Just because of the retarded media here in north america making it a pain.

Did you hear Toronto's old mayor? Every shooting, all he said was "ban handguns, ban handguns," even if it was a shooting with a long gun.
I swear, if école Polytechnique hadn't been done with a legal gun, we'd be in a very different place right now in terms of gun control, and unfortunately, any anti is going to keep bringing EP up over an over to try and make things worse. I remember in the 2008 leadership debate, everyone but the Tories' policies on reducing crime was to outright ban all semi-automatic firearms. Fucking ridiculous.
