Let us know how you like it. A friend had one like that on his 870 and said it made it pretty painful to shoot.
It's pretty comfortable when shouldered correctly, but I haven't put any rounds through it to test it out. It's not exactly going to be for shooting 10" magnum slug missile batteries anyway.
What's a good manufacturer of AKs? (preferably with wood furniture)
Man, I need to start selling my sperm and my plasma if I wanna be able to afford anything good :saddowns:
What's a good manufacturer of AKs? (preferably with wood furniture)
I fired a Norinco one once, many moons ago. It was pretty good.

I think there's one called Lancaster Firearms, they made a few and apparently they CANNOT be trusted to deliver on ANY of their promises.
The best you can get out there are the Arsenal AK's (they're made in the original factory in Russia), they do have some with wooden furniture, most don't. I'm sure if you looked you'd be able to get the wooden furniture for them.
The WASR-10s can be converted to hi cap mags just with a little dremeling to widen the magwell.
So do I need to just take it to a gunsmith? How much does that run me?

Arma Rifle & Cartridge here in Parker CO makes a pretty nice AK. One of the smoothest feeling actions I've operated, and the trigger is crisp.
I think they are Lancaster rifles.

My dad's friend has an Arsenal AK. I really like it, but their prices seem a little high for an AK. I guess you get what you pay for, though.
Speaking of Bakelite, does anyone here just sort collect Bakelite stuff? I think it's pretty cool, and it makes for a comfortable grip, at least until it gets hot.

Then it jumps up to 30-40 for FAL and AUG magazines. Jebeesus.
I must be sitting on a goldmine then, they are everywhere in my house.

Hello there ladies? and gents. Since this popped up on our news sites I've always wondered about what weapon this man in red circle is using. By looking at the mag and stock, it looks like a G36, but the body doesn't have any of the uncharacteristic. A wild guess is the Swedish AK5-C, but I have no idea if they got access to it. I'll let you get a look at it.

Pretty low res pic so hard to tell but my bet is on a G36. The top rail and the mag and the stock remind me of one.
It's the highest ress I can get, news sites sucks.
The body doesn't resemble a G36 at all though.
could be a SIG 556 or sumthin
Not an AK5 at all.
Looks AR-ish. The gap between the top rail and the rest of the gun though makes me think G36C with Aimpoint on top and a flashlight up front.
So I'm looking into getting this... http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/229/products_id/60428
This uses single stack magazines, which obviously you can't get over 10rd mag's for an AK. My question is, how expensive is it to have this converted to double stack?
Get a GP1975. It's a wee bit more expensive but no need to take it to a gunsmith for conversion. I owned one and I loved it. I'm actually looking at getting another, they accept any standard AK magazines. I found one online for $419 from classicfirearms.com. I'm really leaning toward it. Higher quality than a WASR if you ask me, even though it's still a Century rifle.
Fucking hate trying to clean wet sand out of my RK-95. When I get back from my holiday, i'll probably have to use the compressed air machine in the basement.

Can't buy magazines over 20 rounds in MD, have to go to VA or PA.
Fuck being 17
Fuck being 17
Get one off the black market. They don't have any restrictions. :)
Fuck sticky bolts on nuggets
Gun oil man.
I still don't know if I should get a Nugget or an SKS. If I can I'll get both, but what if I can only get one?
Get an AK.
What should I get then? I know WASR AKs are ok, Arsenal's are good, and Norinco's are ok.
What should I get then? I know WASR AKs are ok, Arsenal's are good, and Norinco's are ok.
WASR, Century Arms, GP1975. Check classicarms.us and budsgunshop.com.
Also, like you said, Norinco and Arsenal, both of those are pricey though.
I was at my grandpas house and i saw his wallet and this in its holster

If I can find one, I'll probably get one of the Century Arms WASRs, otherwise it's between 91/30 or SKS.

I don't like Mosin Nagants.
