according to the comments it doesn't have a side mounting rail [editline]22nd August 2011[/editline] imagine a nagant with a bent bolt and an AK type side rail. dat pso-1
Well it has a top rail on it. I'm sure I can figure a way to tighten it.
rubber bands lots of rubber bands
And duct tape!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just ordered this!!!!! http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/229/products_id/60428
It should be a fine shooting rifle. Just a heads up that it's a 10 rounder and converting for double stacked magazines might be a case of easier said than done just looking at parts of the lower receiver. I'll admit I haven't done much research/googling on that one. I'm interested in hearing how it goes for you and if you were able to do it (double stack magazine thingy)

I know it's a 10 rounder. Is this not a standard AK? I don't have a model number or anything. From what my friend told me, it's a Pap? (If I remember right)
Nnnno it's not a standard AK. The magazine port only takes a 10 round single stack magazine, as opposed to standard lowers which take the double stack box mags and drum mags
From what I know, you can cut out the lower receiver to accept double stack.
Yeah, but that probably leads to wobbly mags and/or a real stiff mag port
If it's done right, why would the mag wobble? You're just cutting some metal out.
Because you're cutting metal out and you might remove too much, causing it to wobble, or not enough, making it fuck hard to rock the magazine in place.
I'm not cutting, a gunsmith is cutting it. I'd hope they know what they're doing.
I don't think I've ever been more impatient in my life. It's been 35 days since I sent in the FOID application. Where is my card? Stupid Illinois.
Just got me 200 rounds of ammo to go with it. $62 shipped from sgammo.com.
dude what.
thats awesome
thats awesome
If that's legal in Illinois and I ever get an AR-15, I'd get one.
Friend of mine showed me it a while ago, I think it's legal here, but it's pointless, considering AR-15's can only have 5 round mags, sometimes 10 on a technicality.
If that's legal in Illinois and I ever get an AR-15, I'd get one.
Everything is illegal in Illannoys.
I remember why I don't go shooting everyday. Cleaning guns is a pain in the ass. Anyways, went shooting today, I got to use these at long range (150 yards lol): 10/22 with a 25 rd Butler Creek mag .22lr bolt action with scope at 150 yards, most of us in our group were able to take out 20 oz Pepsi bottles. Henry .22 Mag with scope, lever action. Weighed as much as my damn Mosin. Bushmaster AR-15, still sighting it in. Still a fucking awesome gun. 1930 Tula Mosin Nagant, thing shot really accurately. Hit 18 out of 20 shots on a 10x5 box at 150 yards. At close range (10-20 yards): Ruger SR9C, favorite handgun so far. Really great trigger pull. I did really well with it. Ruger LCP. Pretty much shit if you ask me. Its my Aunts CCW and I don't know how you could hit a fucking thing with it at anything more then 10 feet away. .22lr pistol. Really shitty trigger pull, about as accurate as the LCP. Mossberg 500. Theres something magical about squeezing off 8 12 gauge shells rapidly into a poor water jug, and then having your shoulder fall off. Also, old vitamin bottles make great targets. Fill them with water and when you hit them the cap pops off and flies in the air. I have some pics I might upload tomorrow if I can find my damn cord. UPDATE: Woke up this morning and I was greeted with a huge bruise on my right shoulder. The Mosin's recoil wasn't as bad as I remember it when I first shot it. In fact, it was a lot of fun. The mossy, however pretty much raped me. 12 shots wrecked havoc on my shoulder :( Totally fucking worth it.
Cleaning guns is one of the few times where I can let my OCD run wild. I'll spend half an hour with a small pick trying to clean all the carbon out of the chamber, and it's glorious.
Cleaning guns is one of the few times where I can let my OCD run wild. I'll spend half an hour with a small pick trying to clean all the carbon out of the chamber, and it's glorious.
+1 there. My OCD goes crazy when cleaning guns.
So regarding the weapon I just bought, it's a Zastava PAP. "European Armory" was kind of a blanket term, so I did some more research.

I had to keep my OCD under control last night and I still took an hour on each of my 3 guns. [editline]22nd August 2011[/editline] Also, that smell when you get done cleaning. It is fucking glorious.
Errbody has OCD it would seem.
Well this is random. I was walking the dogs earlier, and I saw something bright orange on the side of the road. Then I actually saw what it was. Last weekend I was skeet shooting at a cottage, I must have shot off over 50 shells out of the various shotguns across 20 and 12 gauge, and no bruise the next day.

Its only my 3rd time shooting, I notice I get more used to it the more I shoot it. Hell I might not be holding it right, who knows. I was shooting some defensive 00 buckshot since it was all I had at the time. OR maybe my shoulder is just a pussy :V

My guess he was using a heavy load.
I was shooting some defensive 00 buckshot
bingo.
450 nitro is a nice big bullet. That is the most kick i have ever had.

That stuff is not very nice on the shoulders. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline]
Yes I'm sure.
why is it called .450? why not .45?
.45 was already taken I guess.
There's nothing called .45 Nitro, so adding that extra nill is pretty unneccessary "four fifty nitro" isn't any better than "fortyfive nitro"
Yeah, kinda.
Just read about the KS-23. A shotgun. With a rifled barrel. 23mm/4ga calibre. BARRELS MADE FROM FUCKING ANTI AIR CANNONS what are the russians smoking?
They're smoking something that gave them a great idea.
Inhaling fumes from gunpowder soaked in vodka and then dried?
Yum.
