why is it called .450? why not .45?
It's actually .450/400 nitro.
I believe it is called 450 because the diameter of the neck is .449 inch and saying 449 is harder then 450.
Don't quote me on that.
The 7.62x54r didn't bother me at all really. I find the kick to be enjoyable, Hell the Mosin is probably my favorite gun right now.
On the topic of recoil, would a Pump action 12 gauge have less recoil than a Single-shot 12 gauge? I have only real shotgun I have fired is my Grandfathers single shot before, and he always said to fire it from the hip since the recoil. Then again, the breech would always fling open and the grip would fly off if you didn't hold it right while firing.
here in massachusetts you need a firearms identification card with your fingerprint on it in order to carry pepperspray
yes you need a gun license for pepperspray, which is not only 100$, but requires you to be 21 to attend the requiring classes

Woah, that's worse than Illinois. A FOID here is $10, plus you don't need a fingerprint or classes, and you can get one at 16 but can't buy a long gun until 18 and a handgun at 21.
whats funny is you can go to new hampshire (the state above massachusetts) and literally buy any gun with evidence that you're 18 years or older without a needing a CCW license or a permit.
you need to be 21 to own a .22 caliber long rifle in massachusetts
it also needs to be a Class A license from what i gather, which is an even bigger pain in the ass to get than an FID.

Did you know it's a law that you HAVE to leave your home when broken in to?
I don't know why, but I really want a bolt-action shotgun and a pump-action rifle.

And then you look at Australia where you can't buy Pepper spray at all.

Nor in Canada, but you can buy bear mace, but if the cops catch you carrying it they'll arrest you because you're not allowed to carry ANYTHING for the purpose of self defence unless you're in "the wilderness," because then it's defence against animals, because God forbid you should be able to defend yourself from a person, you evil monster!

I think Dr.Mortician has one.
Last time I talked to him about it he absolutely loves it. (mind you, he SERIOUSLY knows his way around firearms and told me he had work to clean out all kinds of shit to get it to its awesome state).

I'd really like to get one, but only if I could get it at a good price. Most of my internet searching yielded results of PSLs costing $700^, and by the time I'm ready to put down that kind of money I'd rather just buy an Arsenal SGL 21.

I have, it's pretty fun but its more of a novelty than anything. My friend owns it he had the option of getting a PSL or an AR-15 and he picked the PSL. I wanted to slap him. But anyways the PSL dosent realy do anything my Mosin can't, well except we can bump fire the PSL but thats also just a novelty.

I see, sounds like unless I can get it cheap I should just gun for the AK.
Well an old friend of mine went back to Serbia yesterday after his holidays, it was good fun but I don't think I'll ever touch peach schnapps ever again. As a sign of gratitude for the craic and the business he gave me a few gifts:

Some sort of Soviet or Warsaw Pact telescopic sight, possibly for a mosin. It's pretty old but serviceable. Serb Volunteer guard patches, and a Tribal knife taken as a trophy during the Bosnian War which apparently belonged to a member of the mujaheddin.

So, again...just got this: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/60428
For it, I need the following (and suggestions for where to get them):
1. Red dot scope, under $50 that mounts to the included picatinny rail.
2. Laser Pointer addon.
3. Tactical grip? (the vertical foregrip)
4. Any other cool shit to get for it?
I don't think you'll get a good red dot scope that costs under $50, and why the fuck do you need all that other shit?
just leave the gun stock

and helps fight off the zombies. :)
So you're tossing money out of the window to get some ugly plastic chink grip and a red dot intended for airsoft just because therefore?
Airsoft red dot sight?

So?
yeah I don't think you'll get a quality red dot scope for under $50
it's something you can't really be cheap on
I thought about a red dot sight for my 10/22 and or mossy 500, but unless you're willing to spend a lot of money, the airsoft ones will just break from the recoil. They're not meant to be on real guns. I'd recommend forking out some money for a nice red dot sight, but its going to cost you a lot. OR you can get a scope and mount, which might be cheaper. But again, avoid the airsoft scopes/dot sights. They'll break easily.
