Chinese SKS Rifles...you all know what comes out of China. Crappy products, either that or the guy who runs the site is tripping out of his freakin' mind on some godlike weed.

They're Canada's premiere importer of Norinco products, and they're the only retailer in the country who offers a warranty for Norinco. I agree, cheap Chinese knockoff of the real Simonov, they ripped off a lot of guns, but from what I've heard despite being Chinese and knockoffs I've heard Norinco makes some alright guns, they make the only M14 I can find in Canada, and the cheapest M4/M16 based rifles. I know the Chinese SKSes cost more in the States than the Simonovs, because of the import ban on Chinese shit, which is kinda funny. Also, buying a Chinese knockoff means I won't feel like I'm destroying historical significance if I modify it, like I would with a Simonov, despite the fact that they were really only ever used ceremonially.

$75, you get what you pay for. I'm sure it's not that bad either, you can't assume it's bad just cause it's Chinese...

It's normally $189.99, but that's a "but a shitton of ammo get the gun cheap" deal.
It's fucking expensive, goddamn, for the price of it I could get a Deagle instead, however when the guy at the gun shop has nothing good to say about the Deagle, it's probably not a very good buy. IMO, it's expensive and one of the most impractical guns I've ever seen, I'm not planning on buying one unless I win the lottery or something, I'd rather buy an old Luger for the price of a Deagle.
It's just a fun show off range queen. It's got a stigma surrounding it and it almost makes me want one just for the fun of it.

I don't know people always use the term knock off but it kinda erks me. Since the Russians practically gave the Chinese the rights to manufacture lol. Knock off implies something else.
Doubt the US gave them rights to do the M14 and M4/M16 though. I also doubt the Germans gave them the rights to all the copies they made of their guns.
It ain't all bad, tough, Norincos are usually cheaper, so they keeps costs down for shooters on a budget.
I don't really like the look of the sig, feels great, just doesn't look good to me. I do like the USP-C, Glock, and PX4, if you can understand my style based on that...
I fucking love my PX4's styling.

As far as handgun hunting goes, Desert Eagles in 44 magnum are pretty awesome. They're also surprisingly accurate in the right hands. Don't quote me on this, from what I've heard the Israeli made ones are great, the US made ones- not so much.
I wouldn't mind owning one but there are other guns out there I'd rather own first.
Question:
My dad was thinking of getting a new Handgun.
Should he get [Another] Glock or should I get him to set his sights on a Five-Seven?
And 5.7x28 is illegal in Norway =(
that's fucking dumb because I'd love a FiveSeven or P90C (S?).
Civvie P90 is called a PS90. They're pretty sexy. The long barrel actually looks really good.
The list last time I saw it for calibers that are totally banned is:
.50 BMG
5.7x28mm
4.6x30mm
and wait for it...
.224 Boz which was supposed to be a Law Enforcement only caliber but the the company that initially made it went bankrupt.
That depends on what your local policeoffice thinks. (It isn't supposed to be this way, but it is practiced this way unfortunately. Some local offices deny anything that says .50 or over, while some are actually correct and deny only .50 BMG. I've heard of blackpowder replicas being denied due to being over .50)
One example is 12.7x97mm Technically it isn't .50 BMG, but I know of an application for it that was denied for being "too easy to just convert into .50 BMG"
As for handguns, I've been told that the upper limit of .455 is now removed, however I haven't seen it myself in paper yet. (S&W .460 is legal due actually being .454 in diameter)
That is all I know of that at the top of my head.

However, due to transport laws relating to pistols up here you'll never be able to hunt with them in Canada, making it a nice waste of cash. I've heard that it's good for hunting too, but you can't do that here, and it's a bit too pricey, both the gun and ammo, as well as having accuracy issues (from what I've heard, the .50 can't put 2 rounds in the same deer) and with way too much kick to really be a good range gun, personally I'd feel wasteful shooting more than a mag out of it in a day, maybe two if I really felt like wasting cash. It'd be useful if you could hunt with it in Canada, but the inability to do so makes it pretty useless IMO.

They probably have a decent markup on the ammo that it's worth it to throw in the gun for cheap to sell off the ammo.

Iunno what kind of markup they could get on the ammo when it's still around $0.21/bullet.
I have the page favorited just in case I can afford it in the near future. I just might have to break my vow of not buying Chinese.

It's a Canadian site, unfortunately for you, and due to the import bans on Chinese stuff to the States you won't be able to get it.
That, and they generally don't ship to the US, especially not ammo, unless it's over a million rounds.

Did you just say a million rounds? Wow.

It's what it says on their site, they only ship massive amounts of ammo south, and to import a gun you have to pay the exhuberant shipping and import fees, it's not worth it for Americans, even if you could get the gun legally there, it's more expensive to ship it there than buy it locally.

How hard would it be to go to Canada, buy the gun there, and then bring it over legally? Can I get stamping or something to just bring it over myself?
Pretty sure you would need to pass some sort of crazy Canadian background check and show resident ID...would be hard to do as an illegal alien from south of the border. Not like they have the ATF there to help you get your guns.
How hard would it be to go to Canada, buy the gun there, and then bring it over legally? Can I get stamping or something to just bring it over myself?
Can't bring the gun into the US because the gun is banned (Norinco product that isn't deemed "of sporting use")
Can't bring the gun into the US because the gun is banned (Norinco product that isn't deemed "of sporting use")
Stupid USA and our anti-Constitutional laws.

Still too expensive, time consuming, and as I've said some 5 times now, importing Norinco to the States is ILLEGAL, there's an embargo against Chinese firearm importation, doesn't matter the country it's being imported from, it matters the manufacturer.
Well that's nice of her, but do you plan on getting the barrel threaded yourself or are you gonna get the shop to thread it for you? (unless it's threaded from before)
A-Tec is good silencers, but if you have a machine shop, you can make them yourself :v:
