It feels like they just dipped the entire rifle in grease. man wtf
It feels like they just dipped the entire rifle in grease. man wtf
It's a 75+ year old gun. It would look like shit if they didn't. Gun oil and paper towels will fix it up. Also run patches down the barrel. Mine shot fine when still covered in cosmoline, but I would clean it first.
Firing it with cosmoline in it is a good way of making your entire gun attack you instead of whatever you're shooting at.
I was being serious. Try dipping your AR in sand and see if it can shoot. I shot my Mosin while still covered in packing grease and it shot fine.

Oh my god you are dumb.
Great way to turn your Mosin into a pipe bomb, durp lets just shoot it while it's completely clogged with cosmoline.
I just ran a few paper towel wads through the barrel..i should have used fabric huh.

What parts of the gun should I wipe clean?
Everything that moves. Gun oil does wonders.

I get super OCD when it comes to cleaning guns for some reason.
Goddamnit they have the greasbottle in grease.
Goddamnit they have the greasbottle in grease.
Greaseception.
We must grease deeper.
[editline]19th September 2011[/editline]
Wait. Was there grease IN the bottle? Because then it'd be grease in a grease bottle covered in grease.
Practicing rifle drills with this Nagant. My hands are red now.
Does anyone know if snap-caps work with the Garands En-blocs? I really want to practice loading and unloading since I almost got the 'M1 thumb' last week.
This thread makes me so happy

Naw I don't see why not, aren't the dimensions of a snap cap basically the same as a cartridge?
The Gun Control Debate thread is just pretty much us agreeing with each other haha.
Goddamnit they have the greasbottle in grease.
Ha, Had the same thing happen to me. Still haven't touched the damn thing. I dont even use the original cleaning kit, honestly. It's a nice novelty, but I cant see actually using it.

And those people that go "blah blah blah guns are bad for everyone".

Based on the BS he has spouted before and the fact that he relies on a god damn Hi-Point for personal defense, Im not really gonna trust anything he says ever :v:

Several thousand rounds and not one jam. Keep on judging. I know what works for me.
Also, what bullshit before?

Ok, so you don't agree with the stopping power theory and the fact that Russian weapons fire when covered in anything. Cool.
My Hi Point only ever had one jam, that was a mag that wasn't fully seated.

Ask anyone that knows me and my weapons preferences and they would tell you that I am I huge fan of Russian weapons, that doesn't mean one wont explode if the fucking muzzle is obstructed by cosmoline.
You are lucky yours didnt explode

Same thing. Firing it while is has excess cosmoline in it is extremely stupid.
Suggesting that it is OK for others to do the same is even stupider.

Its so much harder to stop when you continue to act like a total buffoon though
From the gun control thread:
AR and reliable do not belong together
Like seriously, Im fine with you having wrong opinions, thats your prerogative, but dont go spreading it please.

This is common fact over several weapons forums I frequent. The AK vs AR dick waving has been going forever, but the AK tends to take precedence.
