Yeah, not today.
Wow, nice picture.
Wish I could find a nice Mauser. Every time I find one it's been bubba'd / changed all to hell and is an instant do not want. I'd like a genuine German one, but every time I find them they're Yugo or Turkish (and bubba'd, as mentioned).
There's a ton of old Swedish Mausers around here, unmodified too.

In that same gunshow I found a bubba'd Lee Enfield Mk.IV SMLE which made me so very saaaad.
I'm assuming Bubba'd means tacticool stuff.
I'm assuming Bubba'd means tacticool stuff.
Means it's been sporterized. Stock has been cut shorter, the receiver has been drilled for a scope, usually the original sights are cut off with a grinding wheel.
Means it's been sporterized. Stock has been cut shorter, the receiver has been drilled for a scope, usually the original sights are cut off with a grinding wheel.
A very sad thing indeed. The search shall continue I suppose.
Means it's been sporterized. Stock has been cut shorter, the receiver has been drilled for a scope, usually the original sights are cut off with a grinding wheel.
That is possibly the most disgusting thing I read yet.

While I've seen sporterized guns available up here, most of them are still original military configuration. They're pretty cheap too, the McNugget may cost more than down south, but you can find Mausers for under $200 if you know where to look. Most are around $300-$400 though, as are most Enfields, even the pre-WWII series, Smellys I think they're nicknamed.
Smellys are the SMLE, Short Magazine, Lee Enfield.
Quick question; I've literally read the law directly and I'm 99% sure it's legal, but I have several people who have owned guns longer than I saying it is illegal for me to put my pre-ban 30 round AK-74 magazine in my gun at the range. I don't believe it but I'd like to be certain. New York State. I have ten 30 round magazines fully loaded regardless for use at the range tomorrow. :)
As long as they are pre-ban you're good to go as far as I know.
Yeah I keep reading the same thing, but various people are telling me my gun has to also be pre-ban. The laws are so vague. I'm gonna do it anyway I just wanna know how sneaky I need to be haha.
Smellys are the SMLE, Short Magazine, Lee Enfield.
So the Smellys are the newer ones then I take it? Didn't they start SMLE at No1 MkIII?
Nope MK.I was the first, they go all they way to MK.V but I think the MKIII is the most common. We still have a few in the stores, we use them for falling plates competitions and marksman competitions, then again we also used the Bren gun up to 2006, goes to show how well made these weapons were.
I do prefer the copper-plated .22LR ammo, Seems to cycle much better in every gun I run it through (several ruger 10/22's, and a .22 Pistol)
This, my 10/22 cycles like shit after 200 rounds of Remmy Gold, and it leaves my fingers pitch black.
This, my 10/22 cycles like shit after 200 rounds of Remmy Gold, and it leaves my fingers pitch black.
So, since I am gonna be shooting a tube fed semi, I need round of flat bullets, and preferably copper plated? Ok. But what does all the PP, LRN, ect. stuff mean?
Would that tube-fed happen to be a Nylon 66, because I run federal bulk rounds through it and it works great.
Nope, a Winchester 190. Also, I think I would prefer smaller amounts than 500+, I would rather have mebbe 100-200 rounds at any time. [editline]29th September 2011[/editline] Wheee! Read where they got them from, I don't think they are repro. Moist Nuggets!http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Centerfire-Rifles/Bolt-Action|/pc/104792580/c/105522480/sc/105523380/Mosin-Nagant-Model-9130-Rifle-with-Bayonet/710007.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog
The better .22LR ammo is worth it, it has more consistent groupings as well, and you're better off zeroing your scope or whatever to that type of ammo over the shittier ammo. What's cool about the better .22LR ammo, it's still so cheap! I've had a box of Copper Plated Federal .22LR ammo for like a year now, 500 rounds. I shoot it a lot and just can't seem to empty the damn box. I prefer Federal over Remington for .22 ammo.

The Chiappa 1911-22 my friend has jams and stovepipes on the expensive .22 shit, but runs brilliantly on the Remmy Gold. That shit leaves a really annoying gold dust fucking EVERYWHERE though.
Every 1911 .22 conversion that I have seen has not functioned properly. To me, if you want the 1911 grip, but a 22 round, buy a Ruger 22/45.

I wear hearing aids, and was wondering if turning them off would work as hearing protection. Thanks.
Went to cabella's as a kid when I visited Michigan in 2001, they had a Mini-Mountain in the middle of the Store with different climates on each face, I bought a Shoulder holster off a Clerk, I even remember what I said " I want a holster for a berreta m92f (MGS2 Fever) holster please." I still use it to this day.

I'm not too sure about that bolt, though, it looks like it's fucking diecast. :l Still, I can squeeze out five to six inch groups at 400 yards with my Mosin. I guess I got lucky and found a semi-accurate one. [editline] [/editline] Before anyone asks, no, this was not with a scope. Yes, the rifle was well-supported and I was prone. It was made in 1943, made in Izhevsk and as far as I can tell not fancy in any way. The front sight post is off slightly, at 400 yards I need to use the right edge of the shroud for aiming. I used Winchester ammo for it to get those results, using Wolf ammo I can get, at best, five inches at 150 yards. That's pushing it.
