To be honest with you, that doesn't look like a bad setup at all. I'm not too sure about that bolt, though, it looks like it's fucking diecast. :l
The pistol grip is ugly and misfitting in my opinion. And maybe the bipod, it could be more subtle.
So is 150 a good price for a nugget from a Russian stockpile in Ukraine?
So is 150 a good price for a nugget from a Russian stockpile in Ukraine?
I don't specialize in nuggets but I'd say that depends on condition
I don't specialize in nuggets but I'd say that depends on condition
And only way to find that out is go to the store.
Where is this mystical "better ammo" you refer to? Is it the federal or what?
I think he's talking about Federal. Some of Winchesters 22 ammo is OK but with these two boxes I've got of the stuff it's performed like absolute shit. Federal and CCI (that clearbox stuff) are what I pretty much go by, they've been consistent and have cycled nicely in my Browning Buckmark and R597. Remington stuff is alright in general. Runs pretty good in my 22's aside from the occasional dud round in the big packs.

Why does it say mini-magnum on the CCI ammo?
Remington stuff is alright in general. Runs pretty good in my 22's aside from the occasional dud round in the big packs.
Its also really friggen dirty.
The pistol grip is ugly and misfitting in my opinion. And maybe the bipod, it could be more subtle.
Yeah, it's ugly but if it helps the shooter looks don't matter, do they? I mean, I absolutely hate how the Mosin's stock looks, that fucking hump-backed design, but if it works, it works. Then again, the guy who tacked on all of that could be the worst rifleman ever, hard to say.
So is $500-$575 a good price for a M1903?
I've never even seen one for sale up here, but something tells me people would kill for that price around here.
Its also really friggen dirty.
Indeed it is filthy stuff. But compared to the garbage ammo I have, it's tolerable. Because it works.

Kenny is the guy who's setting up shop. Protip if you buy from him: He'll try to get you to buy FN stuff. No matter what, he always does. My dad went to buy a glock, so Kenny offers him a Five Seven too. My dad went to pick up his single shot .45 rifle [One of the "It's been around since the 1880's, but we should still make it" rifles] and he offers us a Civvie SCAR. :v:
Most manufacturers, if you want to get on their distributor list, you have to purchase an obscene number of products all at once (usually something like 400 weapons in a single order)
Most manufacturers, if you want to get on their distributor list, you have to purchase an obscene number of products all at once (usually something like 400 weapons in a single order)
He buys too. He had on his website that he was in the mood for some FN stuff. One of his hunting buddies dropped a ton of Five Sevens and Civvie SCARs over there. Coolest Thing: Kenny's dog knows the difference between a Shotgun being racked and a Rifle bolt being set up. He pumped a Mossy that my dad was looking at. The dog got all excited but noticed Kenny didn't have his hat on so it acted all sad and sat on my feet.
GAH I hate people that have no respect for the classic guns... Got into an argument with a friend today about the 1911, it started up with us talking about the Springfield XD .45, which I love. But then when I mentioned the 1911 he was like "Whoa those things are a horrible design." I don't know if he was trying to just get to me or if he really thought the 1911 was crap. I mean I know some of you on here don't like the 1911 and I respect that but you gotta have respect for the weapon that a lot of modern pistols derive from. Had to give my lecture about the fact that it was used in the military for 80 years and still used by some and how ideal it is as a carry weapon. I mean yeah there are lighter designs out there and for some that is a must, but I am not bothered by the weight of my gun. I also love the 3 safety's implemented into the 1911, I have a lot of confidence that the gun won't go off without pulling the trigger. Then think about the caliber... .45acp... man stopping power, hit someone in the pinky toe and it will lay them out... Ugh *END RANT* Sorry guys, had to let off some steam.
Too bad the TT33 and P38 meant a lot more to the modern handgun designs.
From M1911 wikipedia. "Besides the pistol being widely copied itself, this operating system rose to become the preeminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols." Yeah that pretty much sums up what I was gonna say. But in the end this is all dogma.
Too bad the TT33 and P38 meant a lot more to the modern handgun designs.
Except the TT33 was derived from the FN 1903 and I really haven't seen anyone but Walther make a pistol like the P38. The 1911 has had a lot more influence on the modern pistol market than either of the guns you mentioned.
Oh, the Beretta 92 never existed, right?
I will concede that one in terms of operation, in terms of aesthetics, they improved on it a fair bit, I've never liked the odd way the barrel sticks out on the P38. I don't like most of Remington's .22 target pistols for the same reason, nor really the Nambu pistol most of those .22s are actually designed after. Still, that's one pistol based off that design, in comparison to countless produced based off the 1911 design. Hell, even the TT33 drew inspiration from the 1911, as did what is often acclaimed as the most accurate pistol in 9mm, the Polish Vis 35, also known as the Radom. The 1911 is probably the most influential pistol design... well, ever really.
Too bad the TT33 and P38 meant a lot more to the modern handgun designs.
I know you are pretty biased, but really, thats just not true. A derivative or component of the 1911 action is used in pretty much every modern handgun. To list a few of the more popular ones: -Glock -P22X -H&K USP -Hi-Power
Oh, the Beretta 92 never existed, right?
Yes like DaCommie said, they improved on it a lot though. I mean I am not really a fan of the exposed barrel but I like the design and it has proven itself. What do you have against the 1911? You can't just come on here and say that these pistols have more influence then these pistols over here and not give any reason why.
I shot a friend's Winchester 30-30 today. I think I know what my next gun is going to be. That thing is fun as hell to shoot. Anyone have one?
Don't get a bloody lever action.
Don't get a bloody lever action.
Why? That is one of the best made weapons, aside from the 45-70.
Let him buy a lever-action if he wants too, he's a us citizen, he doesn't have to be that picky about guns. And the 30-30 useful for deerhunting atleast.
Let him buy a lever-action if he wants too, he's a us citizen, he doesn't have to be that picky about guns. And the 30-30 useful for deerhunting atleast.
Yeah, it's a decent deer hunting rifle. Generally fun to shoot.
My father has a .375 winchester lever action. I love shooting it but holy god does it kick.
My father has a .375 winchester lever action. I love shooting it but holy god does it kick.
Yes, they do... So, I haven't removed the cleaning rod in my Mosin yet, and I'm trying to do so now, but it's stuck or something. Is there a trick to this? I feel like an idiot. [editline]1st October 2011[/editline]
Yes, they do... So, I haven't removed the cleaning rod in my Mosin yet, and I'm trying to do so now, but it's stuck or something. Currently trying to persuade my father into letting me get a Mosin Nagant, anything I can use to convince him? He's not a big gun person, if that helps any.
