What makes you think .22 is less dangerous for your hearing than anything else?
If he was outdoors I dont see why he would wear ear pro for shooting a .22, my friends .22 SAA isnt loud at all outside If it was indoors he was dumb, of course.
Are you dumb? What makes you think .22 is less dangerous for your hearing than anything else?
Because I was outside, and I was just shooting a 22 rifle without ear protection. I put the very same ammo in a revolver, and it sounded like a 44 mag. No, I'm not dumb.

Was it really hot loads or something? because I shoot a .22LR revolver all the time and it is no where NEAR as loud as a .44 mag. I dont even wear ear pro to shoot it usually.
Yeah I will take the functionality and feel of a gun over the looks. The 1911 just happens to fit the looks in there haha. i don't mind the look of the Mk 14 Mod 0...
They had a weapon display out at the Marine Corp Half Marathon on Saturday(yes I ran it). One of them was the Mk.14. I love the M-14, and I'd only seen this thing on the internet and hated what they'd done to a once proud rifle, though I understand the purpose of it. So, being totally curious to finally see one in real life, I picked it up(with permission, of course). First reaction? HOLY SHIT THIS THINGS HEAVY! I mean, I'm a Nugget owner, and I consider that to be heavy. But this thing was ridiculous. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle, but damn, I can't imagine carrying that thing on patrol daily. Considering one of the reasons they abandoned the original M-14 was for its weight, I can't imagine this thing being spectacularly better.
Please let it be plastic.
Are you dumb? What makes you think .22 is less dangerous for your hearing than anything else?
A lot of people don't wear ear protection for outdoor shooting because most noise is going forward and it spreads out rather than reverberating. My preference is for ear protection all the time, but that's just how I am. Reminds me of a time when I was at a range and there was this guy with no ear pro and on one side he had Mr. Deagle brand Deagle .50AE who also had a Ruger .44mag, then on the other side the guy had an M82. His ears must be dead.

I know it's better to wear it all the time but sometimes I just say fuck it if it's a .22 or a shotgun or something of the sort and were outdoors. They're just not that loud outside.

When shooting, most people who wanna keep their ears in order use hearing protection. Even if it means going to the extreme, hearing protection is important, no matter indoors or outdoors. I love how it says ATF on the guys hat :v:
When I shoot something like a shotgun outdoors I don't wear earplugs, like in the video below. I only used earplugs for the .338. Speaking of that .338 I loved it but the scope was a piece of crap, I have a leupold scope on my .22 that lets in so much more light. I had trouble finding the can, the other guy in the video owns it he can shoot a soda can from 500 yards away easily. Just shows how much experience can help with a certain gun.
mauser in .30 carbine with an m1 magazine!!
While it is entirely possible, who would want to go through all that trouble of making the barrel look original? Did you just put the magazine underneath or is it really in .30 Carbine? (My sarcasmdetector is broken today)
The gun ejects the casings from a barrel that's right under the front sites. V:v:V
Doesn't it hit your forearm then?

why.jpg This is even more silly than those "semi-auto" Stg's that was sold after the war that only need sandpaper to be full-auto again.
In the grim future of the year 6'000, mankind fought 11 world wars, and Ankara is now part of Russia. Damn, if I were in the US I'd buy these in a heartbeat and do my best to restore them. Stupid fucking bubba.
First off, that's a case of why replace the original wooden stock with a sporter synthetic one for old WWII guns? Second, I find it funny he thinks what I believe is a Turkish Mauser is Russian.
I'm also fairly certain that is a Turkish stamp on the receiver.
Hence why I said Turkish, that crescent looked like a Turkish mark.

I was surprised when I picked up one at one of the local stores here (a civvie one). And then I handled the SCAR 17S (the equivalent of it, same caliber and all that jazz). The difference was jaw dropping. The SCAR was literally feather weight in comparison (and the general mantra and sources out there show that it's very bloody accurate and super mild on the recoil). Mind was full of fuck.
What stock did it have?
Top most one in that picture
SCAR-H (full length) is a good 3 pounds or so lighter than a full length original manufacture M14, Mk14 EBR is only about 0.3 pounds lighter than the original.
how old are you
How does that have anything to do with this? I live in a dorm building, and will be moving into an college-sponsored apartment building next year, therefore I can't store any weapons on-site. My father is a peace-loving, completely paranoid Vietnam vet who hates the military and hates the government even more. He's a complete and total pacifist, so hopefully you can get past the stupid jokes and realize that I genuinely need a decent argument as to how to convince the man to store what I buy there.

Nvm. [editline]6th October 2011[/editline]
Just put it in a locked case, say "dad can I store this here?" He will never know the difference.
This seems like the best idea. Perhaps not a rifle case, though. Disasemble it all and store it in locked cases?
Everytime someone says clips I get this PING!-sound in my head :v:
You guys should play Alpha Protocol, and count the inaccuracies.
You guys should play Alpha Protocol, and count the inaccuracies.
I find it funny how the AK in Gmod ejects to the left.
Alpha Protocol is worse.
I find it funny how the AK in Gmod ejects to the left.
The Gmod AK is actually the CS:S AK (unless some update I missed actually added the AK to Gmod specifically), and back then developers had the ejectionport at that side so players had more details to look at when it came to the gun, but nowadays it's all OMGREALISMBROWNCODOLOLOLOL
