Hey man, don't make fun of it.
Irrigation systems season is in September, before we harvest the corn. Can't have those irrigation systems getting in the way of our harvest.
What happened?
The trigger group needed some serious coaxing out of the receiver... I was holding the receiver with my right hand, pulling with the left. When it came free, it went for freedom. I felt pain, and expected to see some blood in the palm of my hand. I wiped the oil and grease off, it was clean. Wasn't for another minute or so that I noticed the gash down my arm.
Uploaded a clearer pic because everyone likes their blood in HD.
I remember when I was dumping all the shit out of the mosin nagant box and out came the baoynet, pointy side first right into the middle of my palm. Just barely cut it, though as they are more a screwdriver than a bayonet.
Someone showed up at the local gunshop.
The guy complained that his .308 rifle is "too loud"
What the fuck do you expect from a .308 rifle
Sell him a suppressor!
Or tell him to make one out of a PVC pipe and some bottle caps.
That looks like a really dumb way to hold a rifle.
Might look stupid but i'm not sure if it matters. The angled grip is quite a good solution for M16 type rifles because it forces you to hold the rifle correctly and you're able to get much better grouping because you're not getting the long rod effect. Your shots will obviously be much more accurate if you're holding the whole gun in your hands rather than keepping it up from the other end. You'll notice this if you do rapid firing. Generally speaking this angled grip also raises your chance of survival if shot, Because when holding the gun correctly your balistic vest is pointed perfectly towards the enemy. If you get shot it's more likely to hit the plate rather than go in from the side. And when you're shootting from cover it's obviously much smarter to switch the side where you hold the gun to keep yourself mostly behind that cover, Again a more userfriendly grip is better expecially when your accuracy is worse when holding the gun on the opposite side.
For heavier ARs i'd say the the grips are not a good solution if you're going to keep the rifle up and ready to shoot for long periods of time(urban warfare), And for quick tactical reloads you're basically forced to keep your left hand on the magazine anyway, since you can't really drop the magazine by agressively rotating the gun. Even though people are generally trained to hold the whole gun rather than the reciever in air, i still wouldn't recommend it even if you'd be able to drop the magazine vertically because heavy ARs are still heavy, And tired muscles affect directly to accuracy. So its just smart to keep the gun close to your body mass and everything packed around it tightly so that all of the muscles, gear and slings support each other very tightly. Honestly non-elastic slings are much better with heavy ARs because of that.

I wish I had money. The store it's at is only like 2 hours away too.
Is it better to ask a dealer to find a good Mosin Nagant, or to select it yourself?

I really want that. I'm kinda hoping they're still selling it after AIT, but I'm not too hopeful. I'll have about 7200 coming out of IET.
Is it better to ask a dealer to find a good Mosin Nagant, or to select it yourself?
Look yourself. Order a handpicked one, it's usually $10 extra. Online is cheapest.

Heavy as hell, and the Kahr replicas are not known for their reliability.

Why did I not know of this
WWII experimentals never get old
Are M1 Carbines always so jamtastic?
Also, terrible firing stance.
Nice. Never heard of .306, or that weapon.
Didn't watch the vdya but methinks they meant 30-06. I probably misunderstood you though.
It was a 30-06 rifle so i think they meant that.

I put about 100 rounds through mine on Sunday. Had one failure to extract.
It's dead! Thank God it's dead! The bill got introduced to parliament today to kill the long gun registry! Thanks to the Tory majority, it's guaranteed to die after the whole political process has gone through.
Next step, remove the useless bans on things that look scary?
Make it happen, Tories. As an AK fan I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat.

God, am I ever hoping. If they did I'd drop whatever cash I had to get a proper Arsenal AK.
Still another day before my copy of BF3 arrives. But at least I got my new reloading press and bench today!
