OH GOD WHY ARE MAJOR ANTI-GUN LOBBYISTS HERE SO IGNORANT? This idiot from Quebec, who went to speak out in favour of the registry, DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REGISTRY AND LICENSING. He goes and says that abolishing the registry will mean stores don't have to make sure the people they're selling to are legally allowed to acquire firearms, YES IT FUCKING DOES BECAUSE WE'RE NOT GETTING RID OF THE LICENSING. People will still need a fucking license to buy a gun, but these fuckwits don't seem to fucking GET IT. Here's the 2-hour long session in parliament about the debate over the registry.
They're all retards.
Does anyone remember the name of that nifty little fold-up rifle that uses the Glock magazines? [editline]22nd November 2011[/editline] Nevermind, I've answered my own question :v: Kel-Tec Sub-2000
JR Carbine?
I cant wait for june 30th, first thing i going to get with my birthday money is a gun. of course i know its alot more complicated than that haha. Any suggestions? Something like a m1 carbine [editline]21st November 2011[/editline] (yes i know how to shoot)

SKS's around here go for about $280-350, I'm not sure if those prices apply to where you live [editline]22nd November 2011[/editline] Surplus weapons in general would be a good choice
Good starter gun if you ask me is a Mosin, they are cheap, the ammo is cheap, and they are EVERYWHERE.
No, niet, nada Get a .22 as a starter gun. Ammo is DIRT cheap, you can more easily develop good shooting form and technique due to the lack of recoil, and you can trick the hell out of certain models if you get bored of it (ruger 10/22, etc)
Ok, so just to confirm what list to give the parents for the 190. Federal copperplated roundnose, A one-piece cleaning rod, case, and what else?

I'm not sure if I want a Mossberg 500 or a 10/22 for my next gun. Right now I'm leaning more for a 10/22. Help me out on my decision. Note I only plan on using these guns for target shooting, not home defense or hunting.

Note I only plan on using these guns for target shooting, not home defense or hunting.
Go for the 10/22, the mossy is a great shotgun, but ammo is expensive, and depending on what ammo you get it will kick like a sonofabitch. Of course, that might just be me being a baby. 10/22 has more accessories and ammo is much much, cheaper, can't go wrong with it.
Well, I'm thinking about the ammo I bought. It was defensive buckshot, and cost me a $1.00 a pop. I haven't really looked into other ammo, I know birdshot is far cheaper, but I don't know exactly how much it is. :v
Man. Yesterday was awesome. I finally got a chance to go out shoot and oh did I shoot. Finally got my R597 to kick ass properly. Ran a bunch of ammo through it without flaw. Spot on accurate. Happy face. Cooked off a few rounds of 7mm Rem Mag in my R770, it did alright, although I'm increasingly convinced that the scope on it is...lacking. Fired a few magazines through my Browning Buckmark and for shits and grins using open sights we took shoots at our 50 yard target with it. Not very many of them were on target :v: And then finally got to fire a Marlin 336 in 30-30 which was super fun.
opinions on henry repeaters?
I was talking to a friend about this the other day, the part of an AK that keeps it from firing full auto is on the trigger, the part that holds the hammer down after it's racked, right? File that off and it's full auto? What holds the hammer down after that's gone?
Shotgun ammo? Expensive? Dude, what the fuck? Target ammo in Norway is 20 cents per round. And that's imported.
You can get a box of trap shot for a fiver over here, shotgun shells are always cheap as fuck, unless your getting 00 or some other crazy shit.
I'm not sure if I want a Mossberg 500 or a 10/22 for my next gun. Right now I'm leaning more for a 10/22. Help me out on my decision. Less expensive than the 10/22 with a bolt catch.
Indoor ranges are stupidly expensive for monthlies, and the fact that when you rent their guns they only want you to use the ammunition they sell (at a ridiculously marked-up price, of course) just makes things worse. That aside, check out my local range: http://www.scottsdalegunclub.com/ I've never seen a fancier gun club in my LIFE. It seems a bit like overkill.
The store is insane, I would kill to get my hands on some of those weapons. You can buy a .50 BMG rifle there.
Brotip: get a Remington 870 instead of a mossy 500 if you decide to get a shotgun
Why, out curiosity? I have both and they are equally awesome.
The MP-133 is also a good choice, provided it's available.
Then the hammer drops the moment the bolt moves forward. It lacks a full auto-sear.
That's what I said. But he keeps insisting that something can be filed down to allow the bolt to fly freely. I have no idea what he's talking about.

The only issue I've ever had with it is the trigger stopped working for 5 minutes once, don't know why, but it fixed itself whatever it was and it hasn't done it since. Yours have a scope on it? The one I used came with it, doesn't have iron sights though. Sighted it in so well I knocked a staple out of the piece of paper we had up at 50m, then to make sure put another round right beside it.
Mozzarellaberg 500's have one design decision in them which puts them ahead of the 870 in my mind which is the lack of that flap thingy. I've said this time and time again that flap annoys the shit out of me. Plus the mysterious and ominous sticky pump I've encountered with the 870 which I've never truly bothered to find out what causes it. While most Mozzarellaberg's have alu receivers which is a con, there are the 590A1's which use gud ard parts and tend to be hard as balls to find (but AWESOME). I own a 500A1 Persuader and my Dad owns an 870. They're good guns. If you don't like any of them because they're too mainstream and want to be a hipster about it, Browning and Benelli have some pretty good alternatives that would be worth a gander. Just a scope, stainless model, black synthetic stock. I also forgot to mention I didn't use any of that fuckin garbage Winchester 22 ammo (I wouldn't be surprised if most of the problems I had with that gun were because of that). Just regular Fed and Rem ammo.
I use Rem Gold when I go shooting with my buddy, he brings the ammo, and his Chiappa 1911-22 doesn't like to work on anything but the cheap-ass Remington Gold.
Why, out curiosity? I have both and they are equally awesome.
Aftermarket for the Remington 870 is only rivaled by the Honda Civic.
Aftermarket for the Remington 870 is only rivaled by the Honda Civic.
True, but I love my Mossy dearly. 500A owners represent. The 870 just feels weird to me.

The only thing I don't like about the 870 is my thumb keeps getting caught on that guard where you load the mag, the one on a spring, it keeps snapping shut on my thumb. It's a minor irritation, but still an irritation. You can see it in Ridge's pic, right underneath the first 2-4 shells from the barrel.
Just got a Marlin 795. Can't wait to shoot it. It's was be $110 with the mail-in rebate. A nice, cheap 22.
